Newcastle University Business School alumni social Join staff from Newcastle University Business School for a post-work catch up. Reminisce with fellow Business School alumni and make new connections over refreshments at Bealim House. This event is open to Business School alumni and plus ones. Theatre production: Pride and Prejudice* (*sort of) This is an adaptation like no other at Northern Stage. Drawing on over two hundred years of romantic pop history is Blood of the Young’s unique take on a beloved novel. Northern Stage, Barras Bridge 7.30-9.30pm

Professional Networking Breakfast Learning to Become a Leader: Women in High Places Open up the ‘black box’ of learning to become a leader from those at the top of organisations and gain insights from women leaders who have shared their learning leadership journeys. Join this hot topic discussion led by Professor Sharon Mavin, Director of Newcastle Business School, based on her award winning research, whilst networking and enjoying coffee and pastries. Healthy Brain Ageing, what do we know and what can we do? As the population ages, so does the potential for a large increase in the number of people in the population with cognitive difficulties including dementia. This lecture will put into context the current knowledge about how to maximise brain health from an individual and a society viewpoint. Hatton Gallery Tour

The 62nd Meeting of Convocation

A chance to see the Hatton Gallery’s brand new exhibitions through expert eyes. Join the Hatton Gallery team for a tour of the exciting works by Roy Lichtenstein, Lothar Goetz commission and the Schwitters Legacy exhibition. Each tour will take approximately 40 minutes.

Join Chair of Convocation, Antony E. Jones, for the 62nd annual meeting of Convocation, the statutory body of the University that provides graduates with an opportunity to input first hand on the challenges and successes facing the University and the way in which matters are being handled and to put questions to the Vice-Chancellor. The Election of the next Chair and Deputy Chair of Convocation will take place at this meeting.

Newcastle University’s Walton Salver Golf Tournament Join fellow alumni and friends of the University in the stunning grounds of Close House to compete on the 18 hole course, opened by Lee Westwood in May 2011 and voted one of the top 100 courses in England. This includes a twocourse hot meal. Close House, Heddon-on-the-Wall Tee off times between: 8-10.50am (allocated after booking)

A Drop in the Ocean A must for explorers of all ages! Step into the deep and get hands on, exploring the latest research on the global threats to our marine environments. Follow plastics through the currents with our oceanographers, discover plastics in the deepest ocean trenches, help our team detect plastics across vast oceans with the latest drone technology and take a virtual tour around our plastic labs.
