NEWSLETTER WHAT’S NEW; ROOM AUTOMATION Intelligent automation solutions are becoming more and more popular in hotels across the UK. With the new innovative room control, everything can be conveniently regulated, from the lighting through to the room temperature and blinds.

This coherent system helps to simplify processes for hotels, benefiting both its guests and employees. When no guest is in the room, air conditioning and heating systems can be lowered to a predefined temperature, and lights turned off, helping to save energy and reduce costs.

Following the appropriate training, hotel clients can then make bespoke adjustments themselves.

Having recently celebrated 20 years of business, NT Security is evolving its brand to meet the demands of its wide customer range and stay at the forefront of the industry.

The latest installation at Royal Holloway University saw NT Security secure over 60 buildings with 800 MIWA electronic locks, and 64 online card and pin readers.

NT Security has been in partnership with the university for over 28 years, securing 80% of its buildings with NT products and solutions.

INTRODUCING NEW SHOW REEL TITLED; WHAT DO WE SEE? Keeping with the theme of looking to the future, NT has recently unveiled its new corporate show reel titled ‘What do we see?’ Using a variety of unusual statistics, the video takes the audience on a journey through the day-to-day life of NT Security while uncovering some of NT’s most unique projects, including Royal Holloway University and Kings College Hospital.

THE ATHENAEUM HOTEL The Athenaeum Hotel in the heart of London’s Mayfair is an independent, award-winning and family-run hotel.

Following a multi-million-pound refurbishment (with Michelinstarred chefs - The Galvin Brothers at the culinary helm), NT Security worked alongside The Athenaeum to deliver an intelligent integrated security system to complement the hotel’s new vision.

The refurbishment resulted in the main entrance, lobby and common areas - including the restaurant and bars - being completely redesigned.

The main reception desk was adapted and entire checking-in process changed to better reflect a more modern hotel guest. As part of this, NT Security upgraded the old-style magnetic stripe locks on hotel room doors to the latest in proximity technology, resulting in a more efficient process for guests to access their rooms. NT also provided audio video entry systems throughout 34 apartments, and a variety of alarm systems throughout the hotel.

NT delivered a quick installation with minimal disruption to the hotel and its guests.

HOTEK CLOUD LOW ENERGY; THE NEXT GENERATION OF MOBILE KEYS In recent years, bluetooth technology has helped to re-invent the hospitality experience by allowing guests both authorised and secure access to their hotel rooms from their smartphone or mobile device.

Following the rise in demand for bluetooth locks, Hotek has recently announced the arrival of its new Cloud Low Energy (CLE) lock. One of the biggest advantages of the lock is that once the CLE is added, the mobile key can be used immediately without having to wait for an interface from the customer’s PMS supplier.

The CLE chip is also a popular option as it has an ultra-low battery consumption.

This solution will initially be rolled out into the hospitality sector.

MIDITEC INSTALLATION AT JUMEIRAH AT ETIHAD TOWERS, ABU DHABI Miditec recently installed an online system for more than 380 rooms and suites, and 199 apartments at the 5-star luxury hotel, Jumeirah at Etihad Towers.

The installation included a luxury design for its compact Milock HR420 contactless readers.

Due to the modular structure of Miditec’s door locking product range and versatile interfaces, they were able to completely customise the solution based on

the Jumeirah at Etihad Tower’s unique requirements.

Miditec develops holistic solutions for the technical hotel management, from access control to room control and building security. Its offering is easily integrated into existing infrastructures and can be expanded upon when required, growing with the requirements, and adjusting to circumstances.
