NSPJ Architects has built a long-standing tradition of excellence in service and design, commitment to quality and devotion to create the best lifestyle environments for our clients. As a top architecture firm, NSPJ focuses on single-family residential homes, commercial projects, mixed-use, senior living and multifamily developments. We work with clients across the United States and internationally, and have the breadth of experience to create successful designs for any project. We are registered in 29 states and are quickly able to add new regions through NCARB reciprocity in an average of 30 days.
In collaboration, our Architects and Landscape Architects work together to create a truly holistic design approach for all types of projects. Combining art and science, landscape architects design and plan useful and visually appealing outdoor spaces by combining natural beauty with site features.
NSPJ has been involved in the tremendous growth that has characterized the Kansas City metropolitan since 1961. Our founders strongly believe in the importance of respecting the context of carefully proportioned and richly detailed architecture and efficient space planning. We believe design and detailing should respect the existing structure and properly blend into its neighborhood, while the interior spaces should most importantly serve our client’s daily needs.

Clint Evans
Co-President | Principal Architect
With years of architectural experience, Clint’s career has focused on Retail Development, Hospitality, Urban Multifamily and Historic Adaptive Reuse projects since joining NSPJ in 2006. His vast knowledge with Retail and Retail Roll-Outs brought this project type expertise to NSPJ in 2005. Clint's awardwinning retail and residential environments and success has made him a key player as he continues to create memorable spaces serving our clients functional and aesthetic needs.

James McNutt
Associate Principal Architect
James McNutt’s career in architecture is rooted in his love for drawing and solving puzzles which developed at an early age. Since joining the firm in 2007, he has designed many single-family and multifamily projects in the Northern Colorado area. In every project, James focuses on delivering superior service and quality design. He loves to spend time outdoors and working on DIY projects.

Emily McBride
Project Lead | Designer II
Emily McBride joined NSPJ Architects in 2022 in the role of Designer II. She has always had a passion for architecture. As a child, Emily would draw floorplans with chalk and used them to play house. She interviewed friends and family to design their dream homes. Emily realized that hobby could turn into a career, and it made a job never feel like work. She has had years of experience leading multifamily projects where she has demonstrated her abilities to be organized, detail-orientated and easy going.

Shayla Curren
Designer II
Shayla joined NSPJ Architects in 2023 in the role of Designer II. After graduating from Kansas State University in 2020 with a masters in architecture, Shayla worked at a local architecture firm specializing in multifamily housing. She enjoys volunteering with AIA Kansas City and Habitat for Humanity, and she currently serves as the cochair of the Equity in Architecture committee.

Vice President | Principal Landscape Architect
With a love for creating functional and beautiful outdoor spaces, Katie maintains an active role managing a diverse portfolio of projects. From large scale master plans to the varied needs of urban mixed-use developments, Katie can successfully execute projects of all scopes to the clients’ satisfaction by listening and understanding the clients wants and needs. She is known as a strong leader both in the office and out; she participates in a number of networking and community groups, as well as volunteer commitments. These factors make each day unique and Katie is ready to bring her solution-based approach to solving both big and small challenges.

Brad Hus joined NSPJ Architects in 2011 with a background in urban planning and landscape architecture. Brad is uniquely qualified to play a strong leading role in the design of the landscape and site amenities for a variety of project types. He thrives on the variety of projects he has had the pleasure of working on while here at NSPJ, and is excited to continue to work on projects of such an exciting and varied scope and scale.

Engineering Partners
Founded in 1957, Bob D. Campbell & Company is a third-generation structural engineering firm with a legacy spanning 65 years. Licensed in 47 states, they have provided structural design services for iconic landmarks like Children’s Mercy Hospital, AdventHealth, Garmin and Cerner. Not to mention, they have extensive experience in residential facilities, frommulti-story hotels and condominiums to residential centers for special needs, such as nursing care and juvenile facilities. Our engineers have successfully designed dormitories and other student housing for numerous colleges throughout the Midwest. Housing units designed have also included barracks for military personnel.
Founded in 1981, RTM Engineering Consultants is a 500 person engineering consulting firm that is well equipped and highly qualified to serve as engineers, designers, project managers and expert consultants for your design and planning needs. RTM has assembled a team of talented and experienced professionals ready and able to bring creativity, enthusiasm and accountability to the project. Project experience includes The Skyline at Highlands in Denver, and The Edison at Tiffany Springs in Kansas City.
