FULFILLING THE PROMISE When it was founded, Nevada State College made a promise to provide access to a wide range of baccalaureate degrees for a diverse student population and improve their workforce readiness, especially for in-demand careers in health care, education, and business. We have proven that a quality college education can be accessible and affordable. Nevada State costs less than the state universities, with 72 percent of Nevada State students receiving financial assistance in some form of federal, state or College aid. There are also many college and community scholarships available, including Achieve Nevada, a robust financial aid program that is among the most attractive financial aid offerings in the state of Nevada.

> Nevada State has a multifaceted support system in place to keep students on track.

Some examples of this include the Nepantla Summer Bridge Program (between high school and college), the Writing Center, TRIO Student Support Services, course assistants, and mandatory advising, all of which are effective in helping students progress toward the successful completion of their degrees. > Nevada State is committed to teacher education preparation in size and quality. The college is addressing it in various ways with the new master’s in Speech Pathology, a new degree in Early Childhood focused on special education, and expanding statewide education degree offerings in partnership with community colleges in Northern Nevada. > Nevada State College welcomes an eclectic population of students with more than 60 percent of its students from culturally diverse backgrounds. The college has been recognized as the second fastest growing public state four-year college in the nation.

It also has been identified nationally as a Minority- Serving Institution (MSI), HispanicServing Institution (HSI), and Asian American and Native American Pacific IslanderServing Institution (AANAPISI). Additionally, 58 percent of Nevada State College students are the first generation in their families to seek higher education.

ABOUT NEVADA STATE COLLEGE > Since its founding in 2002, Nevada State College has been the choice of thousands of college graduates. We have grown to offer more than 50 high-demand majors and minors. Each program is taught by top-tier instructors with a focus on innovation, technology, and career development. The traditionally small classes are facilitated by faculty who serve as mentors and guides not only in the classroom, but in life. Programs are offered online, on-site, and as a hybrid of both. > Nevada State is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. Program curriculum at the college is developed based upon the needs of the local community and the demands of its students. Popular programs include nursing, education, criminal justice, business administration, visual media, biology, speech pathology, and psychology.

A GROWING, WELCOMING CAMPUS The rapidly growing institution is comprised of several buildings: The Rogers Student Center, which houses the school’s all-digital library, cafÊ, ballroom, Career Services Center, Disability Resource Center, executive and student government offices, and study spaces; the Kasner Academic Building, which provides state-of-the-art learning facilities including a cadaver lab, live-streaming finance lab, and a 250-seat auditorium; the Liberal Arts and Sciences Building, which serves as the creative and research core of the college, housing classrooms, laboratories; and other support areas, such as writing and tutoring assistance; the Raker Student Success Center, which is a one-stopshop for current and prospective students housing the offices of the Bursar, Financial Aid, Advising, and Admissions; and the Dawson Building, which includes classrooms, a fitness center, administrative offices, and facilities and police services. The new Glenn and Ande Christenson School of Education Building is currently under construction along with the first on-campus student housing. The Village, Nevada State student housing, will be ready fall 2020 while the Christenson School of Education Building opens fall 2021. Throughout the campus, a strong commitment to the arts can be seen with paintings and sculptures that fill the hallways and common areas.

From its 511-acre campus vantage point nestled at the foot of Mount Scorpion in Henderson, there are expansive views of the Las Vegas Valley and limitless opportunities are clear to see as well.
