About Darwin Bowls and Social Club
Darwin Bowls and Social Club (Inc) is one of the Territory’s oldest bowls clubs. It is situated close to the city in beautiful Fannie Bay at 8 Conacher Street, just down the road from the Museum and Art Gallery, and welcomes members, visitors and guests from across the Territory and Australia.
The Darwin Bowls and Social Club (Inc) was formed in 1959, and originally the bowling surface was shredded rubber!
The clubhouse and greens were lucky survivors of Cyclone Tracy on Xmas eve 1974.
Over the years grass greens were installed and the club maintained two turf greens. In 2013 the board authorised a feasibility study to investigate the merits of converting our greens to synthetic grass and to construct a cover over one of the greens. From this feasibility study an application for funding was made to the Northern Territory Govt. to complete the project.
In April 2014 the NT Government announced that we were successful in our application and the club recieved $1.6M to complete the project. Work began in October 2015 to transform the greens with the front green converted to synthetic grass and opened in November of that year. In April 2016 construction started on the cover over the Rex Eddy Green (back green) followed by the installation of a second synthetic green which was completed in June 2016. The final stage was finished in September 2016 with the construction of a sealed carpark.
Our Offer SPONSORSHIP
We invite you to purchase a sponsorship sign that is in a prominent location beside one of our greens.
The cost of the sign location is from $1800.00 p.a. plus GST. Your company will need to provide the sign and artwork. The Club will provide the frame to attach the sign to.
The signs are 1.25metres high and 2.5metres wide providing a very prominent advertisement for our supporters.
In addition the offer includes:
Your company logo displayed on our Club website with a link to your own website
Your logo on our Club Pennant shirts as we purchase new stock
An opportunity to host a business function at our club without incurring green fees (one function per year)
Verbal promotion at each key event and carnival
Invitation for two to our annual Christmas party
Invitations to key events such as our annual carnival opening and closing events
Two x one year recreational memberships for yourself and/or other team members from your Business
As a recreational member you receive member pricing for all drink purchases, and inclusion in our twice weekly badge draws

We have some great alternatives in addition to our sign boards. These include:
Sponsor a scoreboard
Displaying your business name by sponsoring our scoreboards around the greens.
Each scoreboard has room for two 600mm x 200mm signs that can be used to display your business logo and contact details
The cost of each score board is $100 per year or $250 for 3 years plus the cost of the signs.
We have 28 scoreboards available. In the past, sponsors have elected to sponsor all of the boards to make a powerful statement., but you can choose to sponsor single or smaller numbers of scoreboards to suit your budget.
Sponsor a Rinkside seat
Have your business logo placed onto one of our rinkside bench seats.
Each seat faces in towards the greens and are prominently placed providing very good exposure for your business.
The cost of sponsoring our bench seats is $100 per year plus the cost of the sign/s

Objectives of Darwin Bowls and Social Club
The principle objects of the Darwin Bowls and Social Club are:-
To promote and encourage the game of Lawn Bowls
To maintain appropriate bowls greens and other facilities
Maintain fellowship within the club and with other clubs with similar objectives
The club promotes itself as a family friendly club that encourages participation in the sport of lawn bowls, as well as providing a positive social environment for the Northern Territory Community and interstate travellers.
Our Board have a positive attitude to continuously developing and improving the Club’s assets to offer the best possible facililities to our members and guests.

The Darwin Bowls and Social Club, not only operate a successful social bowls and functions program we also have a long-term history of sporting achievements on the green.
