NPS East is founded under the guidance of Dr. K.P.Gopalkrishna, Chairman of NPS Group of Institutions and the management of NPS Whitefield.

Mr. K.G. Garg holds a Bachelor's and Master’s Degree in Metallurgical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (Roorkee), Degree from Ae.S.I - USA, Graduate NDI from AFTCUSA, Lead Assessor ISO 9000 from Neville Clarke - UK, ISO 14001 from QMI - UK, TL 9000 from Excell - USA and AS 9100 from Plexus Corporation - USA. He has more than four decades of working experience in the field of Quality Management with Defense Research & Development Organization – Indian Aeronautical Regulatory body, Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. and NVT Group.

Mr. Nitin Garg

Alumnus of IIT (Bombay) and Carnegie Mellon University Director, NVT Group

Mr. Nitin Garg holds a Master of Business Administration from Tepper School of Management, Carnegie Mellon UniversityUSA and Bachelor’s and Master’s in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) - Bombay. Nitin has been instrumental in establishing the International School of Management Excellence (ISME - Bangalore) as the founding Director. He was awarded the International Achievers Award for Education Excellence by the Thai Entrepreneurs Summit in recognition of his efforts of establishing ISME as one of the leading business schools in India.

Mr. Vivek Garg

Alumnus of NPS Indiranagar, NIT and Purdue University Director, NVT Group

Mr. Vivek Garg is an alumnus of NPS Indiranagar, NIT and Purdue University - USA, Vivek has successfully established businesses across the Middle East, Africa and Indian markets. He was in the top 0.1% of the CBSE board, and the recipient of the Deans List award for his overall performance at Purdue University. He was invited by the faculty at Purdue to be a lifetime member of Beta Gamma Sigma, the highest honour by faculty for recognition of his scholastic achievements.

Mr. Tanuj Garg

Alumnus of NPS Indiranagar, Carnegie Mellon University and Wharton School Director, NVT Group

Mr. Tanuj Garg is an alumnus of NPS Indiranagar, Carnegie Mellon University and Wharton School - University of Pennsylvania. He served as a former director and head of research at Citi Group. He has authored a number of strategy articles expressing views on the direction of the US mortgage market, suggesting investment strategies and trade ideas in the MBS sector. His publications have been quoted in the US Monetary Policy Conference, Bloomberg and the Wall Street Journal.

Mrs. Meenu Bhattacharya

Former Faculty, NPS HSR and NPS Koramangala Principal, NPS East

With Masters in Education and Diploma with distinction in ‘Teaching and Learning’ from the Cambridge University, having an experience of over 25 years, Mrs. Meenu Bhattacharya is an overtly, student-focused educational leader who believes in providing a stimulating, safe and motivating learning environment. She was part of two NPS schools, NPS Koramangala in 2004 and NPS HSR in 2008 right from their inception stage. She also contributed to the Academic team in NPS and co-authored books in Math’Enjoy Math’. At NPS, she was a part of SQAA Committee for the accreditation and handled the responsibility of the Examination Department of Middle and High School.

Mrs. Alka Gupta

Former Principal, NPS Yeswanthpur Principal, NPS Whitefield

Mrs. Alka Gupta's career spans over three decades where she has actively contributed to shaping students' futures and the careers of teachers as well. As the Principal of NPS Yeswanthpur, she made the school one of the lead collaborator schools of the CBSE Board, encouraged the students to take part in extracurricular activities and provided various platforms to showcase their talent. She follows the child-centric methodology of teaching and makes sure that the need of every child is catered to.

LEADERSHIP TEAM

Mrs. Lakshmi Rao

Former Principal, NPS Koramangala Academic Advisor and Mentor, NPS East and NPS Whitefield

Mrs. Lakshmi Rao joined NPS Indiranagar in the year 1985 and her leadership and managerial skills have taken the NPS schools to greater heights and ensured the stellar performance of the students. Mrs. Rao was given the role of Chief Mentor and Auditor in the year 2014. She was responsible for mentoring, checking quality assurance through leadership systems and processes, conducting leadership training and doing quality audits.

Mrs. Shirin Jeyakar

Former Vice Principal, NPS Indiranagar Academic Advisor and Mentor, NPS East and NPS Whitefield

Mrs. Shirin Jeyakar was associated with NPS Indiranagar for 31 years. She authored exclusive textbooks for the NPS Group of Institutions for English grammar for classes 5 to 8 and EVS for classes 1 and 2. At NPS Indiranagar she was the Academic Coordinator for 8 years and served as the Vice Principal of NPS Indiranagar for 15 years from 2003.

Mrs. Himanidevi P Madhwani

Former Principal, NPS Yelahanka Academic Advisor and Mentor, NPS East

Mrs. Himanidevi has been in the education profession for over three decades and has contributed in establishing NPS Yelahanka as the Principal and also assisted multiple students throughout her career. Her forte lies in formulating comprehensive experiential based curriculum through inter-disciplinary, multiple intelligence and holistic approach with a focus on all domains of development.

Mrs. Bhagyam Shekar

Former Vice Principal, NPS HSR Academic Advisor and Mentor, NPS East

Mrs. Bhagyam Shekar is a seasoned educationist with over three decades of teaching and leadership skills. She was with NPS Group of Schools as the Vice Principal of NPS HSR, contributed to the curriculum development team and has authored in-house Math Textbooks for Primary School. To enhance critical and creative thinking in students, she has also created a module on ‘Investigative Math’. The recipient of NCERT award and a scholarship to attend the STEM program at the US Space Rocket Centre, Alabama, her forte is in developing new methods of teaching.

SCHOLASTIC PROGRAMMES

Teaching students how to learn is just as important as teaching them what to learn. At National Public School East, we encourage our students to think, ask questions and quench their thirst for knowledge through independent reading and research-based learning. All this is achieved through unique learning pedagogy with critical inputs of our leadership team who are lifelong learners and teachers.

Our curriculum is updated regularly to adapt to the fast-changing global economy. Our teaching methodologies are periodically reviewed to ensure that teaching simulates students’ interest. NPS East has modern classroom delivery systems, with interactive panels connected to the internet and an intranet for seamless access to content and knowledge to make the classes as interactive as possible and use different methodologies to get the best out of each student.

Collaborative learning, with innovative and creative thinking skills is incorporated into lessons so that the students can share ideas and learn from each other making them ready to face future challenges. Students are engaged in experiential learning through a variety of resources. There are also many enrichment activities including outbound trips and student exchange programmes.

Foundational Years Programme (Age 3 to 7; up to 2nd Grade)

The elementary years are the most important stage of an individual's learning. At NPS East and NPS Whitefield, we follow a curated learning approach specifically designed for this age group. Our teaching methodology focuses on play, activity and inquiry-based learning to achieve targeted outcomes in numeracy, literacy and life skills. It includes tailor-made activities using tools such as indoor and outdoor games, puzzles and logical thinking, crafts, visual arts, clay modelling, drama, puppetry, music, story-telling, poetry, etc., with focus on basic skills such as language, communicationlistening, speaking, reading and writing, mathematics, computing, along with 21st century skills focussed on collaboration and cooperation, teamwork, ethics, creativity, health, self-awareness, self-discipline, logical thinking etc. are incorporated into the curriculum for the Foundational Years.

Preparatory Years Programme (Grades 3 to 5)

The Preparatory Years follow an inquiry-led framework that challenges students to think responsibly and critically for themselves as they explore and understand concepts across Languages, Mathematics, Science and Social Science subjects in real life context.

The pedagogy combines the best research and practice from a range of education systems to create a relevant and engaging learning journey. In this phase, classroom transactions move towards competency-based learning and assessment tools focus on evaluating 'as', 'of' and 'for' learning to align with learning outcomes, abilities and disposition.

Middle Years Programme (Grades 6 to 8)

In Middle Years abstract concepts are introduced where emphasis is placed on experiential learning for each subject and exploring the relationships between different subjects. Both the breadth and depth of transdisciplinary learning are achieved during these years. The curriculum is designed to include students of all interests and academic abilities to inspire a passion for learning while challenging intellectual curiosity and maximizing individual potential. It provides a real-world learning experience, enabling them to develop sound judgement, make wise decisions and respect the community.

Secondary & Senior Secondary Programme (Grades 9 to 12)

The Higher Years Programme consists of four years of multidisciplinary study with greater depth, analytical thinking, greater attention to life aspirations offering flexibility in students' choice of subjects with a focus on their career as the core theme. This is an important stage of learning where students are future-ready for their next stage, whether it is university research or vocational training or business. Our approach emphasises on scholastic specialisation, empowerment, innovation, research orientation and reflective thinking.

CO-SCHOLASTIC PROGRAMMES

Lifelong learning evolves when a holistic eco-system is nurtured in its true spirit. NPS East and NPS Whitefield strive to offer multidimensional array of opportunities to channelize the innate talent of every child beyond the classroom to realize their multiple-intelligences and potential. Visual Arts, Music, Drama, Yoga and Physical Education are additional curricular offerings to all students. There are also many enrichment activities including outbound trips and exchanges with other schools.

Visual and Performing Arts

Arts education, broadly categorized as visual and performing arts includes music, dance, theatre and the myriad forms of creative art, plays a pivotal role in the all-round development of the student. The development of creative ability enhances the neural systems that benefit motor skills, originality and emotional balance.

The art teachers mentor the students enabling them to progress in artistic techniques and aesthetic sensibility.

Due importance is given to this discipline as the thinking skills involved are experimentation, exploration and imagination becoming the foundation for higher level thinking skills such as synthesis, inquiry and research.

Physical Education

The union of a healthy mind and a healthy body emerges from the well-structured programme which integrates Physical Education in the curriculum. Apart from building motor skills and coordination, it significantly impacts the development of the brain and therefore the behaviour.

The state-of–the–art infrastructure facilitates a wide range of sports activities such as Basketball, Football, Volleyball, Throw ball, Cricket, Badminton, Table Tennis, Yoga, Aerobics, Athletics, Chess and Carrom. In addition to the outdoor facilities, NPS East shall also have an indoor sports area where a number of indoor sports will be conducted.

Intra-school, Inter-house and Inter-school competitions raise the bar. Enduring life lessons are learnt in the sporting arena such as discipline, team spirit, peer relationship, patience, cooperation, stress management and leadership qualities.

The School Clubs

Students are offered options of participating in various clubs which provide ample scope for identifying talents and honing multi skills while interacting with their peer and mentors.

The clubs include Environment, Health and Wellness, Cyber, Math, Science, Theatre, Robotics, Chess, Model United Nations and Quiz. The clubs foster activities, debates, awareness campaigns, community service as well as steps to combat environmental and social issues.

Life Skills

It is very important for children to be prepared for ever-changing future. In today’s world, things are changing at a very fast pace. To be able to adapt to new situations, work collaboratively, think out of the box, using failures as learning milestones are the important skills which the learners imbibe for success. Our life skills programme facilitates and prepares the students for a compassionate and a happy future.

Structured Life skills programme is embedded in our curriculum and integrated into our interdisciplinary learning expeditions and subjects, proactively equipping the students to become empathetic, caring citizens of the 21st century.
