NPPS CURRICULUM AT A GLANCE North Platte Public Schools follows the American School Counselor Association's (ASCA) student standards. These standards focus around mindsets & behaviors for student success that describe the knowledge, attitudes and skills students need to achieve academic success, college and career readiness and social/emotional development.

Guidance Curriculum Topics

Elementary students participate in guidance lessons taught by the elementary counselor on a weekly basis. These lessons center around the following units: Forging Relationships: Sense of acceptance, respect, support and inclusion for self and others in the school environment.

Emotional Regulation: Responsibility for self and actions, including effective coping skills.

Friendship: Positive, respectful, and supportive relationships with students who are similar to and different from them.
