AN EVENING OF POWERFUL CONNECTIONS HONORING GUY CHIARELLO, PRESIDENT, FIRST DATA CORPORATION

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 2, 2014 PIER SIXTY NEW YORK CITY

TONIGHT WE CELEBRATE We are so glad you are joining us this evening. Tonight you’ll hear NPower’s partners and students talk about just how critical and impactful our work together is. How we are mobilizing the tech community and providing individuals, nonprofits and schools access and opportunity to build tech skills and achieve their potential. This evening is a celebration of this work. We are so proud of what NPower and you, the tech community, together have accomplished. And we could not be more excited about what we can do together to build tech skills and deliver high impact social good in 2015 and beyond.

What we’ve accomplished together Building on our successful launch of Dallas in 2013, your support this year has helped NPower open new offices inToronto (young adult TSC classes launching in November) and the San Francisco Bay Area (TSC classes for vets launching in January 2015). Technology Service Corps, with a capacity to serve over 500 students annually in 2015 and with nearly 1,000 graduates, enables young adults and veterans to pursue technology careers by providing free tech and professional skills training, internships, and job placement assistance. TSC is a high impact, proven program with an ROI (increase in earnings/cost of the program) for one graduate of approximately 40X. Working together we can help even more young adults and vets have brighter futures through careers in IT. In addition to opening new offices, in 2014 we’ve dramatically expanded our alumni efforts, introducing mentoring and continuing ed classes in high demand skills like project management/ITIL and cybersecurity. We are particularly proud to have been selected by Symantec as their pilot partner for a new Cyber Career Connection program which is preparing a new generation for careers in cybersecurity. Thank you to all the corporate and nonprofit partners who help us deliver Technology Service Corps. Special thanks to Guy Fruda, Peter Hancock and the entire TSC Advisory Council for their outstanding leadership and support – and to Anne Gilroy, our TSC Volunteer of the Year for 2014! Through The Community Corps, our powerful network of 5,000 tech volunteers have generously given 60,000 hours of high skill, high impact volunteering. Our unique network of 1,800 nonprofits and schools, enables The Community Corps to facilitate a wide variety of tech-related volunteering including speaking opportunities in career and tech ed high schools, mentoring children and young women in STEM programs, manning hotlines to answer teacher and student tech questions, building websites and doing tech assessments to improve the technology of nonprofits so they can help more people and communities and do more social good. Together we’ve accomplished so much and with your continued support, we will broaden our impact even further. Thank you to all the nonprofits and corporates we work with thru The Community Corps. And special thanks to our wonderful corporate ambassadors, as well as Balaji Ganapathy and the Tata Consulting Services team, our TCC Volunteer Team of the Year for 2014!

This evening We could not be more excited and proud to gather together this evening in recognition of NPower’s 2014 Gala honoree Guy Chiarello, President of First Data Corporation. In addition to being an acknowledged leader in the tech industry, Guy is a longtime friend and supporter of

NPower. Guy’s strategic leadership on the board, network of industry contacts and personal generosity has been absolutely invaluable in steering and driving the growth of NPower. We cannot thank him enough for all that he has done to advance the tech community’s focus on social good and on behalf of NPower.

This evening we invite you too, to join the NPower team. Get personally engaged:

REFER your favorite nonprofit or school to The Community Corps VOLUNTEER your or your team’s expertise on The Community Corps HOST a Technology Service Corps intern MENTOR a student or group of students JOIN an NPower Advisory Council or Board BECOME a Corporate Sponsor

Let’s show the incredible power of the tech community to do social good. Thank you for joining us this evening – thank you for supporting NPower!

Stephanie Cuskley

Using an independent contractor or IT consultant wouldn’t have yielded the results that we got from connecting to Tata Consultancy volunteers via The Community Corps. They brought in a whole team, with different perspectives and it made the whole project more robust. Despite being separated by geography, the team was consistently professional,

responsive, and delivered what they say they would. It was great! Khoi Pham, Executive Director, Bella Communities

TOMORROW starts here. ©2013 Cisco Systems, Inc. All Rights Reserved

Today, it’s easy to marvel at how far we’ve come. Our phones talk to our TVs to record our favorite shows. Doctors in Estonia diagnose patients in Denmark. Social networks help companies improve customer service. And yet, up to now, more than 99% of our world is not connected to the Internet. But we’re working on it. And tomorrow, we’ll wake up pretty much everything else you can imagine. Trees will talk to networks will talk to scientists about climate change. Stoplights will talk to cars will talk to road sensors about increasing traffic efficiency. Ambulances will talk to patient records will talk to doctors about saving lives. It’s a phenomenon we call the Internet of Everything—an unprecedented opportunity for today’s businesses. Tomorrow? We’re going to wake the world up. And watch, with eyes wide, as it gets to work. #tomorrowstartshere

A granular understanding of customer segments helped First Tennessee Bank make the most of its marketing spend and realize a 600% ROI.

Robust fraud-protection and security risk management programs are just two of the many ways advanced analytics are transforming the banking industry.

Internal social networks keep bank employees connected and informed, personalizing and improving service wherever customers are.

Smart mobile solutions, like mobile payments, make banking far more convenient for consumers and allow banks to analyze customer behavior to predict upcoming needs.
