We are thrilled with the progress and amazing improvements we’ve made to our campus thus far in the NOW is the Time Campaign. We are especially grateful for the alumni and donors who have supported this campaign, and many previous campaigns. As we move forward with these remaining projects, we ask for your prayers that they may be completed promptly, and we ask for your continued generosity. The supply chain landscape has changed dramatically over the past few years, and we are feeling the effects as we gather bids and estimates for these remaining projects. If you have not yet had the opportunity to make a gift to the NOW is the Time campaign, now is truly the time! If you have made a gift or pledge, would you prayerfully consider renewing your support for the final leg of the campaign? We want to ensure that ample funds are available to complete the remaining projects, while also setting funds aside to support future growth of the Endowment. Please feel free to contact the Endowment office at any time with campaign questions, or if you’d like to stop by school to take a look at the completed projects!

Generating Resources for Educational Excellence Now was held on October 22, 2022 at St. Pat’s High School. The Endowment’s annual dinner/auction event celebrated its 20th anniversary with record-setting proceeds. Since the inaugural event, G.R.E.E.N. has generated over $2 million dollars for the Endowment in support of our school system. Perpetual thanks are in order for the G.R.E.E.N. founding committee volunteers who began the event in 2003: Pat (‘75) & Kathleen Keenan, Jeff (‘77) & Robyn (Greenwood ‘77) O’Connor, and Marty & Lisa Troshynski. This year’s event saw the highest net proceeds to-date, surpassing the $225,000 mark. Over $45,000 was generated through the Fund-ANeed appeal, which will be designated for: New elementary reading curriculum, gym air conditioning at McDaid Elementary, and a fund for guest speakers and special programming for students and faculty K-12. Over $8,500 was donated for Wish List items submitted by McDaid, Little Leprechaun, and St. Pat’s teachers. Please SAVE THE DATE for next year’s event!

The Fall 2022 sports season brought some historic firsts to Irish athletics… The first ever St. Pat’s girls golf team and the move to 8-man football both provided much excitement and brought much success! We are proud of ALL of our Irish athletes and thank them for a season to remember!
Girls Golf
St. Pat’s had great success in their inaugural season of Girl’s Golf, led by coach Kristine Gale. The team consisted of 6 girls, 4 of which played the previous spring on the St. Pat’s Boy’s Golf Team. The team competed in 5 season tournaments and Districts at Four Winds Golf Course in Kimball. The team saw much improvement throughout the season, with each player improving their score in competition by at least 10 strokes. The future is bright, as all will be returning except senior Olivia Dimas. Coach Gale says she is incredibly proud of this historic team. “They stepped up to the challenge of trying something new and really improved their golf game, confidence, problem solving, and golf etiquette. I feel lucky to be able to coach these girls!” Football
The 2022 Irish Football season was one of great excitement and accomplishment. Led by coach Kevin Dodson (‘89), the Irish successfully transitioned to 8-man football and ended the regular season with an undefeated 8-0 record (for only the 9th time in school history). The Irish advanced to the semi-final game, falling to a talented Neligh-Oakdale team. St. Pat’s ended the season at 11-1, ranked 3rd and 4th in the final media season rankings. Coach Dodson stated that, “Senior leadership was outstanding as these fine young men modeled the work ethic and positive attitude it takes to BE THE BEST!” The following young men were honored with All-District recognition: Offense: seniors Seth Engler and Matthew Phelps, junior Jackson Roberts, and sophomore Logan Dodson. Defense: seniors Sam Scholz and Will Moats and juniors Brecken Erickson and Sam Troshynski. Honorable mention was given to senior Luke Ekdahl and junior James Heirigs. Two players were named Omaha World Herald All-State: juniors Jackson Roberts and Brecken Erickson. Honorable mention All-State were: seniors Sam Scholz, William Moats, Matthew Phelps and
Logan Dodson.

Volleyball
Irish Volleyball 2022 was a quick season that provided tough competition and much growth. Coach Maddy (Lister ‘08) Krebs led a young team against some tough opponents. She says the Lady Irish ended the season playing their best volleyball. “We had a group of four seniors who led the team to finish the season by putting their hearts out on the court. We will have many returning players with experience next year, and we plan to have a leg up on where we started this year.” Three players were named honorable mention to the 2022 All-Class C-2 team: Seniors Mae Siegel and Tonja Heirigs, and freshman Izzy Scholz.
Cross Country
The St. Pats cross country teams posted solid results throughout the 2022 season. The girls saw many personal records throughout the season, and the boys were the First Place Class D school in every meet except for State, where they ended up Second. The meet results were: Runner-up to NP at NP Invite, 1st at St. Pats Invite, 1st at Chase County Invite, runner-up to Gothenburg (the eventual Class State Champions) at Broken Bow, 1st at Ravenna Invite, 3rd at the Ogallala Invite, UNK All-School Invite Champions, SPVA Conference Champs, and District Champions with 5 runners in the top 10. The St. Pat’s boys team finished 2nd at State, just three points shy of a Championship. Junior Jarrett Miles set a new St. Pat’s High School State Course record in 16:45.7. Jarrett was also selected for the 2022 Class D Boys Cross Country All State team.
