ACKventure Summer Camp 2024

REGISTRATION OPENS WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 17 AT 9AM

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES PAYMENT POLICY A deposit of 50% of tuition is due at registration. Outstanding balances are due in full by June 1. There will be no refunds granted after June 1. Please make payment by Visa/Mastercard, cash, money order, or check payable to Nantucket Community School (NCS).

REFUND POLICY ACKventure Day & Sports programs are NON-REFUNDABLE. CANCELLATION POLICY The Nantucket Community School reserves the right to cancel programs with low enrollment. Families will be notified the Friday before the start of the program and will receive a full refund if canceled by NCS. ATTENDANCE POLICY There are no refunds or credits for absences regardless of the reason.

BEHAVIOR POLICY Children are expected to be able to stay with the group and participate in the activities. A child who demonstrates inappropriate verbal or physical behavior will be sent home for the remainder of the day. Parents will be contacted and required to pick up their child immediately. If this behavior becomes a recurring pattern, the child will be withdrawn for the remainder of the program session.

Future session enrollment will be reviewed and approved at the discretion of the Nantucket Community School director.

Cell phones, electronic devices and gaming systems are prohibited during ALL ACKventure programs!

ACKventure must comply with regulations of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and be licensed by the local board of health.

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES DAILY PREP LIST FOR ALL ACKVENTURES Please ensure that your child arrives each day with a backpack that contains the following items:

A hat Refillable water bottle Sneakers A bathing suit and towel Sunscreen (spray bottle only)* Extra change of clothing Weather-appropriate outerwear (sweatshirt, raincoat, etc.)

Snack Healthy lunch *Please remember to apply sunscreen prior to camp, even on foggy/cloudy mornings. We will reapply sunscreen as needed.

DATES: JULY 1 - AUGUST 16 AGES: 3.6-4.11 TIME: 9:00AM-1:00PM FEE: $525/WEEK; ON-ISLAND FAMILY RATE: $375/WEEK* LOCATION: NANTUCKET PUBLIC SCHOOLS CAMPUS

ACKventure Full-Day runs weekly (M-F) from 9:00am to 3:00pm. Children entering Kindergarten through 3rd grade explore all the wonders that Nantucket has to offer. Participants take full advantage of our Nantucket Public Schools facility, utilizing the indoor pool, gymnasiums, and fields.

ACKventure Junior is our half-day camp that runs concurrent with ACKventure Full Day, from 9:00 AM-1:00 PM, for children 3 years and 6 months to 5 years of age.

This program is specifically designed for younger, preschool-aged children.

Does your child need to start early?

Reserve a spot in this supervised extension camp. This camp is available to those enrolled in ACKventure Full Day and ACKventure Jr.

*Child must be enrolled in a Nantucket school to receive the on-island family rate.

Island families are able to enroll in ACKventure Early Bird at a discounted rate thanks to a generous grant from the Nantucket Golf Club Foundation.

ACKVENTURE SPORTS BASKETBALL

GYMNASTICS

DATES: JULY 1 - AUGUST 16 AGES: 7-12 TIME: 8:30AM-11:30AM FEE: $350/WEEK; ON-ISLAND FAMILY RATE: $300/WEEK* LOCATION: NANTUCKET PUBLIC SCHOOLS CAMPUS

DATES: JULY 1 - AUGUST 9 AGES: 5-10 TIME: 1:00PM-3:00PM FEE: $250/WEEK; ON-ISLAND FAMILY RATE: $200/WEEK* LOCATION: NANTUCKET PUBLIC SCHOOLS CAMPUS

Basketball clinics focus on the development of the fundamentals required to become a well-rounded basketball player: dribbling, passing, shooting, and defending. These skills are demonstrated by passionate coaches through drills and group games, in which participation and overall enjoyment are emphasized. Groups will be divided based on age and skill level to facilitate maximum improvement of all players.

WEATHER POLICY In the event there is severe weather and/or rain, the decision may be made to cancel outdoor sports clinics for the day. A notification will be sent via email 45 minutes before the start of instruction.

No refunds will be offered.

GYMNASTICS JUNIOR DATES: TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY JULY 1 - AUGUST 9 AGES: 4-6 TIME: 3:30PM-4:15PM FEE: $125/WEEK; ON-ISLAND FAMILY RATE: $75/WEEK* LOCATION: NANTUCKET PUBLIC SCHOOLS CAMPUS

Gymnastics begins every day with creative, non-competitive, theme-based games. Gymnasts will then participate in a warm-up and stretching, followed by rotating gymnastics stations. This program will develop and improve the gymnasts' strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, and self-esteem. Coaches will work with groups, and individuals, on each event: vault, bars, beam, and floor.

Participants will be grouped according to age and ability.

ACKVENTURE SPORTS FLAG FOOTBALL DATES: MONDAY, WEDNESDAY, FRIDAY JULY 1 - AUGUST 16 AGES: 6-12 TIME: 4:00PM-5:00PM FEE: $150/WEEK; ON-ISLAND FAMILY RATE: $100/WEEK* LOCATION: NANTUCKET PUBLIC SCHOOLS CAMPUS

This non-contact football camp blends skills and drills with daily games. Our coaches focus on educating players on various aspects of football including passing, catching, and teamwork. After skill-enhancing exercises, players will divide into teams and scrimmage one another in a fun and safe environment.

TENNIS DATES: JULY 1 - AUGUST 16 FEE: $200/WEEK; ON-ISLAND FAMILY RATE: $150/WEEK* LOCATION: 7 BACKUS LANE TENNIS TOTS (AGES 4-6): 9:00AM-10:00AM AND 2:00PM-3:00PM TENNIS TOP SPINNERS (AGES 7-9): 10:30AM-11:30AM TENNIS ACES (AGES 10-14): 12:30PM-1:30PM

Tennis clinics will focus on the basic skills and fundamentals of playing tennis. There will be a focus on age-appropriate group games, drills, and stroke development. *Child must be enrolled in a Nantucket school to receive the on-island family rate. www.nantucketcommunityschool.org
