“There’s always something to be thankful for— especially the people who inspire us every day. This month, we’re grateful for our readers, our local stories, and the heart that makes McLean shine.”

In the heart of McLean, where sophistication meets serenity, a timeless bridal vision came to life at the grand White Mansion on Towlston Road. This editorial captures the essence of modern romance and the enduring elegance that defines our community.
Led by photographer Adriana Escalante, the collaboration united local artistry and luxury, from the sweeping architecture and Fashion Irina Bridal gown to the flawless beauty by Stephanie Gonzalez and the exquisite Mercedes Maybach S680 Edition Nordic Glow, courtesy of Mercedes-Benz of Tysons Corner. Together, they created a portrait of refined elegance and e ortless sophistication, a celebration of today’s confident and radiant bride.
Few locations could have embodied this vision more perfectly than the McLean White Mansion, a neoclassical masterpiece nestled atop 1.6 acres of lush greenery. With its grand marble staircase, soaring ceilings, and luminous interiors, the mansion exudes timeless grandeur.
Listing agent Jennifer Jo, a Northern Virginia real estate expert, describes the home as “an exceptional estate o ering both majesty and tranquility.” A former attorney with the U.S. Department of State, Jennifer brings a refined eye for detail and a deep commitment to service, qualities that define both her career and her community involvement.
Specializing in luxury properties across Northern Virginia, Jennifer is known for her thoughtful approach, integrity, and appreciation for architectural beauty, making her a trusted name among discerning homeowners. Her passion for creating beautiful, welcoming spaces extends far beyond the homes she represents.
“The McLean White Mansion represents everything I love about Northern Virginia: refined yet inviting, stately yet full of warmth,” Jennifer says.
Every marble corridor and arched window of the mansion provided a frame worthy of a love story, an architectural symphony of beauty, history, and refinement, just minutes from Tysons yet a world apart.

At the center of this visual narrative was Adriana Escalante, whose creative direction guided the entire collaboration. “Bridal season in the DC area always feels magical,” she shares. “I wanted to showcase that world-class bridal artistry lives right here, in our local designers, venues, and creative teams.”
An award-winning photographer based in Washington, D.C., Adriana is known for her bold, dramatic, and editorial style that seamlessly blends fashion and emotion. Her work spans high-

end fashion, beauty, and commercial lifestyle imagery, often featured across major cities including Miami, New York, and Lima, Peru.
Adriana’s artistic approach transforms the traditional bridal shoot into a statement of modern elegance. Through her lens, the McLean White Mansion became a stage for emotion and texture, where light danced across silk and lace, and the gleam of the Mercedes Maybach S680 Edition Nordic Glow added a cinematic touch of luxury.
Beyond photography, Adriana o ers full production services through her brand, from location scouting and professional styling to talent casting and social media reels, creating a onestop destination for high-end visual storytelling. She is also the founder of Tysons Headshots, specializing in professional portraits and branding photography for businesses and executives across the DMV.
Adriana’s vision, passion, and mastery of her craft have positioned her as one of the region’s most dynamic creatives, turning every frame into art and every collaboration into an unforgettable experience.
Representing the pinnacle of craftsmanship, the Mercedes Maybach S680 Edition Nordic Glow was the perfect companion to this celebration of timeless beauty.
Produced through Mercedes’ exclusive Manufaktur Individualization Program, this limited-edition model is one of only 50 vehicles worldwide. Inspired by the Northern Lights, its two-tone exterior of Northern Lights Violet Metallic over Moonlight White Metallic and bespoke Rose Gray Nappa leather interior embodies artistry, precision, and luxury.
With a handcrafted 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 engine, the S680 delivers seamless power and sophistication, a true reflection of McLean’s refined elegance and modern prestige.
For designer Irina Ciobanu, the artistry of a wedding gown lies in its simplicity and soul. “I’m always inspired by elegance,” she says. “Every gown is meticulously crafted, from lace and tulle to mikado and silk, always with the bride’s individuality in mind.”
Her designs, a seamless blend of modern and romantic, speak

to brides seeking both uniqueness and timelessness. “A bride should feel radiantly beautiful and confident,” Irina explains.
“McLean defines elegance and high-end style, and that’s exactly what I strive to create.”
In this editorial, her gown floats through the mansion like a whisper of grace, structured yet soft, regal yet intimately personal, the embodiment of refined femininity.
Every radiant bride begins with artistry, and Stephanie Gonzalez, a renowned bridal and editorial makeup artist, captured that essence flawlessly. “I wanted to create luminous skin, soft structure, and e ortless beauty,” she shares. Her look, inspired by the modern romantic bride, achieved balance through light layers, cream-based textures, and soft, ethereal tones that photographed beautifully.
“Makeup should tell her story,” Stephanie says. “It should enhance her energy and confidence without ever hiding her essence.”
Supporting her vision was a talented glam squad of beauty experts. Paulina Castillo, makeup assistant, brought precision and artistry; Jimena Schmiedl, master hair and makeup artist, added expertise in luxury styling, color, and Brazilian blowouts;

and Natalia Lapchenkova, an internationally published hairstylist with over two decades of experience, brought her signature mindful approach to bridal beauty.
The result was a luminous, graceful aesthetic where every detail, from sculpted lashes to radiant, hydrated lips, reflected the romantic minimalism that defined this bridal editorial.

For Coco Arends, a McLean native and the face of this editorial, the experience was both deeply personal and inspiring. “Being part of this bridal shoot felt special because it was home,” she reflects. “The team made it such a memorable experience from start to finish.”
Her quiet confidence and natural grace brought the entire vision to life. Draped in Irina Ciobanu’s gown, framed by the mansion’s grand windows, and poised beside the Mercedes Maybach S680 Edition Nordic Glow, Coco embodied what bridal elegance truly means: classic, timeless, and beautifully authentic.
Beyond her role in this editorial, Coco is an emerging model represented locally, known for her poised presence and refined versatility in both bridal and fashion work. Her look captures a balance of strength and softness, lending authenticity to every frame. Her participation was not just professional but heartfelt, anchoring the story with both personal connection and polished style.
More than a photoshoot, this bridal editorial reflects the creative spirit of McLean—a community where artistry, collaboration, and elegance come together e ortlessly.
As Adriana Escalante shares, “This shoot celebrates sophistication that feels distinctly D.C., where classic architecture, refined style, and confident femininity meet.”
Behind the scenes, Maya Grace (Gigi) captured the magic through her BTS video, revealing the teamwork and vision that brought it all to life. From the floral artistry of Vladyslava Lisniak to the exquisite jewelry from Artita Gallery, every element reflected harmony, beauty, and imagination.
Within the marble halls of the White Mansion, surrounded by light and laughter, the McLean bride was reimagined—timeless, modern, and unforgettable.
This bridal editorial was made possible through the collaboration and talent of an extraordinary creative team:

Artificial intelligence is changing how businesses are analyzed, valued, and ultimately acquired. The same technologies that once felt out of reach for small and mid-sized companies are now embedded in modern dealmaking, bringing things like more profound insights, faster analysis, and more transparency to every stage of an M&A transaction.
Today’s valuation tools go far beyond surface metrics or a good old “look under the hood.” AI-powered platforms can examine a company’s financial statements in seconds, detect irregularities, benchmark performance against industry peers, and identify ine iciencies or hidden strengths. The result: buyers and investors now see beneath the surface of a business more clearly than ever before. It’s A Smarter Marketplace.
It’s become more evident that legacy systems, outdated software, or manual processes once viewed as harmless are now red flags in valuation reviews. Conversely, even small steps toward digital modernization, such as
Having a data room, adopting cloud-based accounting, integrating CRM systems, or improving data visibility can positively influence both price and buyer confidence.
Across the country, a large share of privately held businesses are led by Baby Boomer owners, many of whom are planning their exits within the next decade. Historically, these founders have depended on established systems, loyal employees, and a strong local reputation. But as technology becomes inseparable from valuation, these same owners are beginning to implement modest advancements and AI tools to stay competitive.
Technical readiness is becoming a critical part of exit planning. The question is no longer “Is your business profitable?” but “Is your business future-proof?”
Here are a few practical ways business owners can start preparing now:
• Upgrade Core Systems: Move from desktop or manual recordkeeping to secure, cloud-based accounting and operations software.
• Improve Data Hygiene: Standardize and clean your customer, sales, and financial data.

• Document Processes: Capture knowledge in digital SOPs and workflows to make transitions smoother for buyers.
• Evaluate Cybersecurity: Buyers are now scoring security posture as part of diligence.
Each small improvement increases both operational strength and perceived enterprise value.
Companies that embrace even minor digital modernization are now commanding stronger multiples and faster closes. Buyers view them as scalable, transparent, and easier to integrate.
Business owners considering an exit in the next three to five years should begin assessing their technological landscape now. The transition to AI-readiness doesn’t require a full overhaul; it starts with small, strategic updates that modernize operations and position the business for a stronger valuation.
To determine whether your company is ready for the next generation of AI-assisted buyers, or to discuss the steps that lead to a technically prepared exit, reach out to our business contributor, Erika Baez-Grimes.
Because in tomorrow’s market, readiness isn’t optional—it’s value.

Twenty years ago, life presented Washington DC maternity photographer Nataly Danilova with a double gift—twin boys.
As a new mother, she wanted to preserve every precious moment, yet at the time newborn photography was nearly impossible to find in the area.
Determined to capture those fleeting memories, she decided to take matters into her own hands and pick up a camera.
What began as a mother’s desire to document her children’s first moments soon blossomed into a lifelong passion—one that grew into a thriving business known today as Nataly Danilova Photography.

"Every family's story deserves to be told beautifully," Nataly re ects.
For more than two decades, Nataly has photographed the essence of motherhood and family with the precision of a fine artist.
From her private luxury studio near Tysons Corner, she has become one of the most sought-after photographers in the Washington DC area—admired not only for her breathtaking portraits but also for the deeply personal experience she creates for each client.
Recognized as one of the Best Maternity and Newborn Photographers in Washington DC by Expertise for ten consecutive years and honored as Best Baby Photographer of 2018, Nataly’s reputation reflects both artistic mastery and emotional depth.
As a mother of four, Nataly approaches her work with empathy and understanding.
“Motherhood is one of life’s most transformative journeys,” she says. “I wanted to create portraits that celebrate this moment with dignity, elegance, and strength.”
Her maternity photography in Washington DC sessions go far beyond traditional portraiture; they are designed to make every woman feel radiant, powerful, and beautifully seen.
Her photographic style blends timeless elegance with creative boldness—pairing the purity of black-and-white portraiture with the richness of color, couture gowns, and cinematic storytelling.
Behind each image stands a seasoned entrepreneur who built her brand on consistency, quality, and care.
“As an artist, it’s important to never stop evolving,” Nataly explains. “As a businesswoman, it’s about delivering exceptional service and valuing every client relationship.”
Her success, she notes, comes from treating creativity and business not as opposites—but as perfect partners.

Every detail—from lighting to music—is curated to create an e ortless, indulgent, and unforgettable experience.
Many of Nataly’s clients return year after year, entrusting her to capture each milestone—from maternity and newborn portraits to family and holiday sessions.

then, I’ve photographed every chapter of their journey. Watching their children grow and being part of their family’s story has been incredibly meaningful.”
Her clients—busy professionals and families who value artistry and service—often describe her portraits not simply as photographs, but as heirlooms that carry emotion, connection, and legacy.

From the moment guests arrived, the atmosphere was electric—flowing champagne, elegant casino tables, and a whisper of secret-agent mystery set the stage for a night destined to be remembered. Attendees, many of the area’s most distinguished community leaders, stepped into a world of cosmopolitan elegance. The ladies, radiant in couture gowns, shimmered even brighter with exquisite diamonds courtesy of Helvetia Jewelry, lending an added spar to an already luminous evening.

The culinary journey was nothing short of extraordinary. Acclaimed chef Cedric Maupillier orchestrated a five-course masterpiece that transported guests through the flavors of France. Highlights included caviar-topped tartelettes, tru le-stu ed gougères, and a delicate Dover sole finished with a luxurious caviar beurre blanc— all paired with exceptional French wines that elevated the artistry of each dish.

Yet beyond the glamour and indulgence, Riviera Royale carried a deeper purpose. Presented in partnership with the International Museum in Washington, D.C., the gala supported the Children’s National Hospital Foundation. The fusion of fine dining, dazzling fashion, and meaningful giving created an evening that celebrated both joie de vivre and the power of community generosity.
In every detail—from the refined tablescapes to the sparkling laughter that filled the room— Barbouzard’s Riviera Royale was a true escape to the French Riviera, right in the heart of the capital region. A night where luxury met legacy, and every toast lifted the spirit of giving a little higher.

If you’ve had Korean barbecue before, you might think you know what to expect: lively tables, smoky grills, and plenty of marinated beef. But Seoul Prime takes that familiar energy and refines it into something much more elegant, an intimate dining experience centered around some of the highest quality beef cuts you’ll find in Northern Virginia.
We started with a trio of appetizers that set the tone right away. The Seoul Prime Beef Tartare was beautifully balanced. Tender strips of USDA Prime NY strip layered with sesame, egg yolk, and crisp sheets of fried seaweed. A touch of Korean pear kept it bright and refreshing. The Seafood Chive Pancake was exactly what you want it to be: crispy on the outside, full of shrimp and cuttlefish inside, hearty without ever feeling heavy. The most surprising bite of the night came from the Crispy Bossam. A melt-in-your-mouth pork belly paired with a shattering piece of pork skin, lifted by a pear gastrique and a smooth soybean butternut squash purée. It was a perfect balance of richness and restraint.
Of course, the centerpiece of the evening was the Prime Steak Tour, a progression of cuts grilled right at the table. Each one showed o a di erent side of beef: the Dry Aged Ribeye with its deep, nutty flavor; the Ribeye Cap, impossibly tender and rich; the Prime Short Rib, which practically dissolved after a few bites; and the Marinated Prime Galbi, sweet, smoky, and deeply satisfying. The sta handled the grilling with just the right amount of attention, engaged but never rushed, so the experience felt more like a guided tasting than a typical barbecue free for all.
The atmosphere is what really distinguishes Seoul Prime. It’s calm, intimate, and just a little bit luxurious,

making it perfect for a special dinner out. The dining room is softly lit, the pace is unhurried, and the focus stays exactly where it should: on the food.
Just when it seemed impossible to add another layer, dessert arrived as a quiet but memorable finale: a Korean Rice Donut made with sweet rice flour and egg, filled with yuzu cream and red bean paste. Chewy, crisp, citrusy, and just sweet enough, it captured the balance of tradition and refinement that defines the whole meal.
Seoul Prime isn’t just another spot for group dining and sizzling plates, it’s a place where you can slow down and appreciate the craft of Korean barbecue at its highest level. November marks Diabetes Awareness Month, highlighting the unique implications of diabetes for women at every stage of life. While discussions often revolve around diet or heart health, it's essential to consider specific women's health issues related to diabetes.
For instance, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) can increase insulin resistance and elevate the risk of developing type 2 diabetes later in life. During pregnancy, women may experience gestational diabetes, which can impact both mother and baby. However, with e ective management, most women go on to have healthy pregnancies and deliveries. It’s crucial for those who have had gestational diabetes to continue with annual screenings, as they remain at an increased risk long after childbirth
As women approach menopause, hormonal changes can a ect how the body processes glucose, making blood sugar management more challenging. This transition underscores the importance of regular checkups and lifestyle adjustments.
At Annandale OB/GYN, we prioritize preventive care and early detection. Your annual exam provides an opportunity to review your health history, discuss family risk factors, and conduct simple blood tests to monitor glucose levels.
Whether you're planning a pregnancy, managing PCOS, or navigating menopause, understanding your metabolic health is vital for overall well-being.
