t’s crab season! The tasty crustacean—and of course lots of melted butter—will be welcomed to tables throughout Mendocino County. Several local feeds will be held as part of the Crab, Wine, and Beer Festival. The Mendocino Coast Clinics (MCC) will hold its annual benefit, the Crab Cake Cook-off, on January 28, noon–3 p.m., in the big white tent on Main and Spruce Streets in Fort Bragg. Tickets are $110–$175. If those prices don’t fit into your budget, the MCC will also host a Cioppino Dinner on January 27 at Pentecost Hall in Fort Bragg. Tickets are $40 for ages 13 and up, $15 ages 6–12; children under 6 get in free. Seatings are at 4:30 p.m., 6 p.m., and 8 p.m. For a really good deal, check out the four-course Blue Collar Winemaker Dinner on January 24, 5–9 p.m., at Cucina Verona in Fort Bragg. Tickets are only $18.
