Value Awards

Curiosity Award
We value intellectual curiosity and creativity. We want every child to develop a love of learning. We embrace taking risks to enhance pupil development both academically and as people.
Dimithi Bartholomeuz
Dimithi entered and won the Cambridge View Film Competition. She is always looking into all subjects in more depth, asking searching and curious questions, she loves learning.
Tanish Paul
Tanish is endlessly keen and interested in Physics and will stop and talk about videos he has watched and books he has read. He has borrowed two books on advanced concepts in Physics and asks numerous awkward questions about them!
Edoardo Senin
Edoardo shows huge levels of curiosity in every lesson. He is extremely interested in areas of Maths beyond the curriculum, and particularly the Maths that helps him to investigate concepts in Science that he has been thinking about. When something interests him, he goes away and researches it independently but is happy to discuss his ideas in lessons, and likes to see if he can use his knowledge in class. He is particularly interested in using his skills to prove concepts covered in the lesson. His skill at using Desmos and other mathematical software to demonstrate ideas and to write up his research is exceptional.

Empathy Award
All of our provision is underpinned by empathy and tolerance. We seek to build resilience and empower children to make a difference in the world.
Daniel Jaber
Daniel completed a sponsored run for Cancer Research, training with his Dad to achieve this goal, as well as fundraising.
Neha Bodiwala, Daisy Mean and Victoria Oh
This year, Neha, Daisy and Victoria have supported Mrs Daly and Mr Crossland in running 'Connected Club' for Year 3-4 and Year 5-6. They have attended each meeting, coming up with comprehensive ideas on activities for the club's weekly meetings, as well as presenting ideas to IJS House meetings to develop a connected display at the IJS. They have been excellent ambassadors for the Senior School and have demonstrated excellent leadership qualities.
Erica Hobbs-Iskander
Erica has spent Form times willingly playing board games with some Year 7s who were struggling to settle into school. She's been the epitome of patience, grace and has been a great friend to them.

Excellence Award
We have high aspirations and pursue excellence across all areas of our provision. We nurture individual pupils to achieve their highest potential and make a positive impact in the world.
Rumaysah Ige
Excellence for academic work and sport across the year.Nothing but 100% is always on show from Rumaysah.
Eddie Baron
Eddie has managed a considerable swimming commitment at a very high level, alongside maintaining a fine approach and outcomes with academic studies.
Sebastian Caulton
Sebastian won the group section of the Mansfield Music Festival as part of a chamber ensemble and his individual performance category on the violin. He won the years 7 to 10 strings competition at Loughborough Schools in February. He performed in the spring concert for Nottingham Youth Orchestra. He has been invited to play at the 'Violins with Stories' event as part of Sherwood Art Week at St. John’s Church at 6pm on Friday 4th July.

Edoardo Senin
Individuality Award
We value each child and member of staff as an individual and embrace diversity in all its forms. We create the conditions in which our staff and children can be happy and flourish.

Edoardo consistently looks to extend his thinking and go beyond the curriculum. This year, it has included designing a mathematical formula to represent his views on overpopulation and writing a score for 4 different instruments using the inspiration of Moroccan artists he had researched.
Diya Patel
Diya is an absolutely voracious reader; she is impassioned and shares recommendations with her friends, often driving them to read more and more. Diya set herself the challenge of reading 50 books in 2024 and achieved 42. She then created a 'Reading Wrapped' for 2024, ranking her favourite books and highlighting her favourite features of them. She shows individuality in her goals and her responses to the novels.
Lana Pongpaibul
Lana wrote an exceptional computer program as part of her Year 9 project. It was a text adventure game, 5000 lines of code that she'd spent hours and hours on at home. It gave the user the option to play the entire game in English OR German, and also a 'simplified' version with summaries. It showcased her individuality and unique ideas, going above and beyond the requirements of the project.

Respect Award
We are proud to be an inclusive and diverse community. We value kindness, integrity and modesty. We champion a culture of respect and understanding between all in the school community.
Chloe Cheuk and Betty Cai
Chloe alongside her friend Betty wanted to volunteer to help in Art after school for their DofE. They have both gone above and beyond to help. If a challenge has been set to achieve a certain amount within an hour, they have risen to the challenge and made the activity as fun as possible. Their punctuality, polite manner, curiosity to learn a new skill, dedication and conversational skills have been extremely impressive.
Evan Au-Yong
Evan always has a pleasant, respectful, considerate and helpful demeanour. Seemingly true to himself, regardless of time and place.
Edoardo Senin
Edoardo always greets others in such a polite manner, showing a huge amount of respect in how he addresses his peers and other staff members.
