Now we open 2020 and wonder what it will hold. Remember in 2000 when we were afraid all systems would shut down and we might be left helpless? Well, all went well and here we are 20 years later, continuing to move forward, hacking and all. We give thanks for what we experienced, learned and achieved in 2019. But we also curiously wonder what we will experience in the months to come. What blessings or challenges? What surprises and transformations? What do I wish to carry into the New Year; what don’t I wish to carry into the New Year? What do I need to let go of; what do I need to save and to develop? I am talking about the attitudes, blessings, challenges, practices, burdens, or resentments that I hold. It would be wonderful to snap our fingers and have all this solved automatically, but change of heart, true transformation, takes work, takes God’s grace, takes willingness to be honest with another, and especially with ourselves. Happy pondering as you turn the calendar! I wish you and yours a glorious year filled with many blessings. Happy New Year! Sr. Margaret Hickey. ND President and Provincial
