UNIQUE YOUTH
Breakin’ it Down
This month we started to shift our focus to incorporating different youth’s talents into a single track. Since we have a lot we are working on, Jacob has been extremely helpful in laying down some guitar riffs on some tracks! Our recently dropped breakbeat track with Stephanie and Jacob can be foundonoursoundcloudpagelinkedabove.
Feeling the Music
Many of the younger youth at the Franklin Boys & Girls Club love to dance to the music! Above is Sahvanna, Charley, Carley, Adiya, and Judah all dancingalongtoacoverof“100BadDays”byAJR.In ordertokeepthefocusinoursessions, allowingthem to get some energy out through dancing has enabled themtobemorefocusedwhenit'stimetomakesome hits!
Songwriting sessions Dynamic Duos
By maximizing the space at the Franklin Boys&GirlsClub, weareabletostreamline ourfocusinthestudiobycollaboratingona track where everyone contributes an important part. Hailey and Jadiah (seen at the piano) are working on an original track which will incorporate Jacob’s (seen in the back) guitar playing along with various vocalsfromyouththroughouttheclub.
Charley (pictured above) has always had a difficult time singing on a live microphone. In order to combat this issue and make her feelmoreatease, weallowoneofherclose friends to sing along with her. This has helped strengthen her confidence and even has encouraged her to start recording her ownoriginalsong!
Joint Lessons
In order to maximize the productivity of the space we have started to do joint lessons (guitar, piano, etc) instead of individual lessons. By bringing in youth with the same musical interests, we can teach bass and melodypartsseparatelybutsimultaneously!
