WHO AND WHAT IS

BREWING IN NORFOLK! OLI FERNANDEZ, BREWERY LIAISON COORDINATOR Hello everyone! It is great to be back and hopefully back into a more steady and consistent normality. These last 15 months have been a rollercoaster not only for our pubs, but also for our breweries, with some reinventing and creating new ways to keep their business afloat, while being safe and following regulations. All Day are brewing again, mainly for the taproom, which has reopened: Fridays 6-10pm and Saturday 2-10pm. They will continue to produce their wild/mixed fermentation barrel aged beers and now have a small canning area, and a licence to compound and rectify spirits. Fruit and herbs are being grown in

order to produce some spirits, including a Norfolk take on Absinthe in the early autumn. Boudicca moved premises last summer and are now brewing at S&P in Horsham, who have been very supportive. Bottle and ‘Bag in Box’ sales kept them ticking over during lockdowns. Prasto’s Porter and Three Tails Bitter were brewed before the reopening of pubs. Emma Pinder is now the sole owner, having bought out the other partners, and a new designer has refreshed the Boudicca bottle labels. Fat Cat kept brewing at reduced rates throughout the year and had a play with so some new beers. Lockdown IP IPA 5 7% has become a permanent member of their pe range and is available to ra sample in their pubs, the sa same as Incredible Pale Ale sa 5.2%. Currently maturing for 5 the autumn is a 9% Barley th Wine, to celebrate Colin and W Marjie Keatley’s 30 years in M The Fat Cat, so we’re looking T forward to trying that! fo Also we might soon see a A vvery interesting and some might find “shocking” new m brew to celebrate Norwich b C City FC being promoted o once again to the Premier L League - a green-tinted beer c called Yeller’n’Green, a 4% ssession IPA, which will be sserved alongside the unttinted (read: yellow) version o of the same beer - keep yyour eyes open next time yyou visit a Fat Cat pub!
