Making Tracks brings together emerging artists from the UK and around the world to showcase unique musical traditions. This concert will feature solo and collaborative performances from each of the project’s eight 2019 fellows. This year’s fellows are Louise Bichan (Orcadian fiddler), Rapasa Otieno (Kenyan nyatiti player and multi-instrumentalist), Barbora Xu (Czech / Finnish kantele and guzheng player), Melisa Yildirim (Turkish kamancha player), Luna Silva (French/English/Spanish vocalist, ukulele player and percussionist), Kaviraj Singh (British santoor player / vocalist), Katariin Raska (Estonian bagpiper / mouth harpist / saxophonist), and Arsen Petrosyan (Armenian duduk player). Join us for this not to be missed celebration of diversity and world class music.”

A master performer of the sarod, one of the most celebrated stringed instruments of North India, Ustad Irfan Khan is the khalifa (head) of the ancient Lucknow-Shajahanpur Gharana (Traditional School) of instrumental music. He is one of the last instrumentalists of the subcontinent with a vast repertoire of historic compositions. Joined for this special performance by performers on surbahar, sitar, Afghan rubab and tabla.
