Committed to a Greener Planet
At Northumbria, we are passionate about saving our planet. Northumbria has recently been rated 17th overall in the UK and ‘first class for sustainability’ in the People & Planet University League 2021. We are committed to optimising our contribution to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) through our research, teaching, campus and operations.
As part of our efforts to reduce our impact, we have produced this mini-guide in replacement of our larger prospectus. In doing so, we have saved almost 5 million pages of paper and over 10 tons in weight when printing and distributing the guide.
All of the up-to-date information about coming to university is best found on our website.

HIGHER AND DEGREE APPRENTICESHIPS
Higher and degree apprenticeships offer the best of both worlds combining university study and workplace learning.
Northumbria University is a leading training provider and was one of the first UK universities to offer government-supported degree apprenticeships.
Our Higher and Degree Apprenticeship programmes combine university study and workplace learning. These specialist courses are co-designed with employers to ensure they are providing the skills that industry is looking for. Apprentices enrolled on higher and degree apprenticeships are employed and divide their time between the workplace and flexible university study.
The first step in the application process is the University receiving an employer application form, indicating that they are willing to support you throughout the programme at the University. If you would like further support with the discussion with your manager or employer about apprenticeships or your wider training and development, please contact our Sales and Business Development team by email at degree.apprenticeships@ northumbria.ac.uk or complete the form on the website to request a call back.
If you have a question relating to an apprenticeship programme or you would like to talk further about how apprenticeships at Northumbria University work, call 0191 215 6300.
