Bluefin Insurance Women's Cup Northumberland FA Newcastle United Women Development v West Allotment Celtic Ladies

Welcome from our Chairman Steve Ord

As Chairman of Northumberland FA, it's my pleasure to welcome you today to Whitley Park for what I hope will be a great Cup Final.

I know all of our clubs take a great pride in reaching a County Cup Final and I'd like to congratulate both teams today in getting this far in the competition.

I'd also like to personally thank the match officials - officiating a County Cup is recognition for all their hard work and dedication across the season.

We hope today's final here at Whitley Park will be a memorable occasion for everyone and we wish our finalists the very best of luck.

Safeguarding information

Safeguarding young people and vulnerable adults is at the heart of everything we do at Northumberland FA.

We are firmly committed to ensuring grassroots football is safe and enjoyable for everyone, and we prioritise the well being of these groups above everything else.

As well as addressing any concerns in the game, we provide training and support to our clubs and leagues to ensure their approach meets - and exceeds - best practice.

If you have any safeguarding concerns today, please report them to the safeguarding officer on duty (details posted around the ground) or any member of Northumberland FA staff.

100% Inclusive

We recently launched ‘100% Inclusive’, our new Inclusion Strategy that seeks to eliminate many of the barriers to participation in sport and provide support to people involved in grassroots football in our area.

Grassroots Football is part of the fabric of our society and now more than ever before, our clubs are becoming vital hubs of their communities. In recent years, we’ve seen a growing trend of clubs using the power of football to bring people together and positively influence their local community –examples include offering free meals in school holidays, waiving monthly subscriptions when families fall upon hard times and even offering to open up as warm hubs in the current cost of living crisis.

The challenges faced by our communities are likely to increase over the coming years and therefore, we must take positive action to address these. We need to be proactive and innovative, working together with various stakeholders in our region to help eliminate the barriers faced in accessing services. ‘100% Inclusive’ seeks to do just this.

Finally, we’d ask that you promote this strategy within your clubs – if anyone needs to access any of the services within ‘100% Inclusive’ then please, get in touch at any time.
