Castle Rock housing complex at halfway mark
The forty unit complex, Castle Rock Apartments has sprung up on Willowfork Drive in Boardman. The units are half completed, with a Grand Opening set for November of this year.

Lantis worked at Bank of Eastern Oregon as a customer service representative. Currently, she is attending Blue Mountain Community College where she is working
towards her Associate of Applied Science degree in accounting. Lantis is passionate about supporting the community where she lives and works. She is currently serving as the 2012 Chamber Ambassadors President. When not working, studying, or supporting community organizations, Lantis enjoys spending time at home with her husband Zack and their three children: Makaila, Riley and Chase. Farmworker units on schedule to open in time for the holidays Boardman, Oregon (April 27, 2012) – The Housing Authority of the County of Umatilla and CASA of Oregon are pleased to announce the Castle Rock Apartments, an affordable housing development for farmworkers and their families, has reached 50% construction project completion on schedule. Lease applications for the 40 unit complex will start being accepted in July 2012 and will opened to qualified farmworker families including nursery workers, dairy workers, field workers, ranch workers, and processing workers who meet the income requirements. Work is expected to complete in October 2012, with a Grand Opening in November 2012. The Housing Authority of the County of Umatilla is responsible for managing the project, which aims to address increased demand for workforce housing in Boardman. “Local dairies and processing plants continue to see an increased demand for year-round farmworker labor, even in tough economic times. The Housing Authority looks forward to opening its doors to the workforce of Boardman, and the community expects this will help create a more stable workforce, since employees will no longer need to drive long distances to work. In addition, this project creates an air of new development in
the community by bringing modern, quality, sustainable and affordable multi-family housing to the workforce population,” said Stan Stradley, Executive Director of The Housing Authority of the County of Umatilla “Workforce housing is a necessity in rural communities.
