Diane Wolfe, CEO Altrusa International Of Hermiston The Altrusa Scholarship is an award of between $300 to $1500. The purpose of this scholarship is to assist students in the completion of post high school studies or training so they are better able to care for their families and themselves. The scholarship is not for graduating high school seniors. The major requirement for receiving this award is that it will be used to gain or upgrade job skills or to re-enter the job market. Applicants should be approximately 2/3 through a post-secondary program and be a resident of western Umatilla County or North Morrow County, but may be studying elsewhere. Frostbite Golf Tournament The Chamber is hosting the Annual Frostbite Golf Tournament at WillowRun Golf Course on Saturday, March 26. The golf tournament is a fundraiser for the Scholarship program for Riverside High School. Registration forms are available at the Chamber office. For more information call the Chamber at 541-481-3014. Sportsmen Show January 21, 22 and 23, the Boardman Chamber hosted a booth at the Sportsmen Show at the TRAC in Pasco. January was also the first session of the Morrow County Leadership program sponsored by the Ford Family Foundation. I thought it was a great program and I believe all the participants enjoyed the sessions. The Boardman Chamber Booth the volunteers that made this event possible: My son Darren Zimmerman for helping set up, and thanks to Doug Diamond, Guy Marzek, Doug and Jane Pope, Dean Kegler, Matt Kegler, Neal Livingston, Terry and Cheryl Tallman, Lynn Prag, Dustin Swindler, Ethan Ellis and Kathie McGowan for doing such a great job promoting Boardman and manning our booth on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We held a drawing for a door prize: Dee McDorman from Benton City won a 2 night stay at the Boardman RV Park, Dinner for 2 at the River Lodge & Grill and an “Oregon’s Other Coastline” t-shirt. The group seemed to feel this was a great event for Boardman and are making plans for us to host a booth again next year.

Boardman Senior center breakfast must cost more Prices for breakfast at the Boardman Senior Center have increased recently due to rising cost of food and utilities. The cost increased from $4.00 to a whopping $5.00. No where else in town can you get a full meal breakfast deal
for such a great price. The Boardman seniors serve breakfast the first Saturday of each month from 7:30 to 10:30 am. Breakfast includes Sausage/Ham, Eggs/ Pancakes, Hash Browns, Biscuits & Gravy, Coffee and Juice.
