Clinic plans groundbreaking in April Special Districts Election:
This is the latest architect’s drawing for Columbia River Community Health Services’ building. If fundraising continues to go well, the clinic will break ground on construction in April. Columbia River Community Health Services (CRCHS) in Boardman is nearing the completion of their capital campaign “Boardman’s Healthy Future” for funding their new clinic facility. The nonprofit clinic was awarded $2.3 million under the Federal Affordable Care Act funding and has secured nearly $730,000 locally. Their campaign goal is to raise $4,723,795 in cash pledges and in-kind gifts to open the facility debt free in the spring of 2012. Campaign chair persons are Gary and Kathy Neal. The current clinic facility has 5,000 square feet and is at capacity with 12,960 patient visits in 2009. They propose ground breaking in April, 2011 for a 15,000 square feet facility. The nonprofit clinic was established in January, 2004 and is governed by a 10-person board of directors; up to 30% of their clients
are charity care, which complies with federal regulations for their operating grant. The Site Design Review application has been submitted to the City of Boardman and anticipated site design review decision is March, 2011. The NEPA Environmental Assessment has been completed and the clinic plans for the project to begin the competitive bid process on February 8th, with a March 22 bid deadline, and awarding of the project bid on April 7th. Columbia River Community Health Services’ CEO Mindy Binder says they would love to hold a ground breaking ceremony in early April, and to watch for the upcoming date. The clinic would like to thank the corporate and foundation donors to the new clinic, which include: . Avista
