PC Café/Meals on Wheels Part of Subaru Share the Love Event
Putnam County Senior Center/ Meals on Wheels Putnam County will once again be part of the Subaru Share the Love Event Nov 16th – Jan 2nd. As part of a national partnership with Meals on Wheels America, Subaru of America, Inc. and its retailers will donate a minimum of $300 to charity, like Meals on Wheels, for every new vehicle leased or sold
from November 16, 2023, to January 2, 2024. Since the Subaru Share the Love Event began in 2008, Subaru and its participating retailers have donated more than 4.3 million meals and helped provide friendly visits to seniors being served by local Meals on Wheels programs across the country. JEFFERSON CITY – At 11:00 a.m. on December 16, 2023, volunteers will lay wreaths on more than 20,000 graves in Veteran Cemeteries across Missouri to honor our nation’s heroes as part of Wreaths Across America. Five Missouri Veteran Cemeteries will be participating in this event. The Missouri Veterans PC R-I Seniors attended Rotary and heard about the new Rise Up Hygiene Pantry. The Missouri Veterans Commission has collaborated with Wreaths Across America since 2009. “This event is so special every year,” said Missouri Veterans Commission Executive Director Paul Kirchhoff. “I encourage everyone to come on out to one of our cemeteries on December 16 and participate.” Wreaths Across America started in 1992 when the Worcester Wreath Company began donating wreaths to be placed at the headstones in Arlington National Cemetery. Building on that tradition, in 2006, Richard Bavender received the quilt of valor during the 2023 Veterans the company began doDay Assembly held at the Putnam County High School.
