Gun Show Attracts Vendors and Enthusiasts to Unionville
Singer songwriter J. Jeffrey Messerole will be the featured performer at The Bixler 108 Listening Room on Saturday, October 28, at 7 PM. Messerole’s original compositions span folk, blues and alternative country music. Multi-award winning songwriter J. Jeffrey Messerole is an Americana musician from Iowa’s capital city. From the depths of his Iowa roots, Messerole blends the sounds of his guitar with engaging lyrics, and often a harmonica, to tell gritty American tales. The motifs of his songs can vary as greatly as the wildflowers in the native tall grass prairies. In fact, Messerole frequently writes about that flora, as well as the fauna of the region, not to mention all of its wildlife. Not one to shy away from subject matter, the songs frequently meander across the lines between love and loss, success and failure, or life and death. His songs are well crafted and full of atmosphere and have garnered awards and distinctions that have landed him in the same company as John Prine, Jason Isbell, and John Hiatt. Fans of Prine, Isbell and Hiatt will enjoy Messerole’s songs as well. Messerole is happy to
share his original folk, blues, and alternative country music that’s cultivated right here in the heart of the Great Plains with the audience at The Bixler 108 Listening Room in Unionville, which is located at 108 S. 17th St. His concert is at 7 pm on Saturday October 28. There is no admission charge, but there will be an opportunity to make a donation if you would like to support live music in Unionville and artists like Jeffrey Messerole. Here are other upcoming shows: November 2, Local Legends; November 3, Ruth Wyand, (N. Carolina); November 10, Aaron English plus Goldpine (Ben & Kassie Wilson); November 17 Kerry Grombacher (New Orleans) & Aspen Black (Virginia). Go to The Bixler 108 Facebook page for more details for this and other upcoming events and contact Tom Keedy at 660-626-7803 or at thebixler108@gmail.com with any questions.

Attorney General Bailey stated, “We want to recognize our partners who have assisted in clearing the backlog of untested sexual assault kits throughout the state. These recipients and their efforts are vital to achieving justice for every victim of an unspeakable crime. We would not have made it this far without them.”
