PRINCETON One bad inning prevented the Princeton Tigers from claiming a share of the inaugural West Grand River Conference title last Tuesday, as North Andrew scored 5 runs off 4 errors in the top of the first inning for a 6-0 victory.
The Tigers (8-4, 4-3 WGRC) needed a win to clinch a tie for the title, but that bad first inning relegated them to a tie for third. North Andrew finished 6-1 in league play.
• Princeton got two of its scheduled three games in on Saturday in the NCMC Nan Carter Classic, falling to Class 2 Brookfield in the first round of pool play before 7-5, before rallying to beat Class 3 Cameron 11-7 in their second game. Their trophy game was canceled by rain.
Seven Tiger errors led to all of Brookfield’s runs to be unearned. Brookfield got just two hits during the game.
Against Cameron, Princeton scored 9 runs over the first two innings - 5 in the first, 4 in the second. Down 10-4, Cameron got 3 runs as the Dragons pulled to within 10-7.
• Princeton opened the week with an 8-5 non-conference victotry at Gilman City. A pair of 3-run innings, the fourth and sixth, helped Princeton pull away.

behind a tractor or other farm machinery, please slow down and be patient.
• Wait to pass until you have a clear view of the road ahead and there is no oncoming traffic. Never pass on a hill or curve.
• Collisions commonly occur when a motorist tries to pass a left-turning farm vehicle. A tractor that appears to be pulling to the right side of the road to let motorists pass, may be preparing to make a wide left turn. Watch the farmer’s hand and light signals closely.
• It’s important that you pay close attention to farm equipment entering and leaving the highway from side roads and

driveways. Special attention must be paid when traveling at dawn or dusk when the sun makes it difficult for drivers to see.
Kim Knor of Denver, Colo., learned how to skydive when she was 20 years old. That was in 1959. She became a member of the inaugural U.S. Women's Parachute Team two years later. To date, the 84-year-old daredevil has made 600 jumps and is determined to reach her goal of 1,000 jumps. As she told one news outlet, “I have a choice of watching TV or sitting in front of a computer or going out and jumping and traveling across the country.” In an interview with CBS News, she had a suggestion for her fellow octogenarians: “I feel fantastic! I mean, this is what I live for. Anytime life gets too difficult or too sad just go make a jump and then everything’s good!”
