What if I don’t have anyone to carpool with? No problem. When you register, Cool to Pool will match you with a coworker based on the information and preferences you provide.
If your daily round-trip commute is 10 miles, your annual commuting cost is probably more than $6,000. If you carpool with just one other person, you could save $3,000.

Will I have less flexibility and freedom to come and go? No. Since you only have to carpool three days a week to receive benefits, you can schedule errands on the days that you don’t rideshare.

What if my driver has to leave unexpectedly? That’s when you can use the Cool to Pool Emergency Ride Home benefit—a free taxi or rental car (if taxi service isn’t available) that you can use up to 4 times a year. If I sign up, is my personal information secure? Yes, your information is completely safe. Even after you find a match, you don’t exchange personal information until you’re ready. How do I know the rideshare match is safe?

What if I don’t like the person? When you register, you can specify personal preferences. We also provide a guide to discuss with potential matches to let you know if you’re compatible. If you try it and don’t like the match, you simply say it’s not working and find another match. Do I need a car full of strangers to form a carpool? All you need is one other person who shares your general trip route and work schedule. We can help you find that person. What if I’m already carpooling? If you’re already carpooling to work three days a week, registration will enable you to qualify for our free Emergency Ride Home program and other benefits. Concerned about privacy? So are we. Match lists are distributed with the phone number you choose to provide and work address only. All personal information such as home address is confidential and is only used by the North Florida TPO Commuter Services Program. After you complete the simple commute profile, you can request a list of possible carpool partners from the Cool to Pool commuter matching database. You’ll only see a person’s name, the phone number they choose to provide, and work address.
