The two candidates vying forthe Union County Commissioner Position 1 seat stole the show at Tuesday night's forum as Jack Howard and incumbent William Rosholt squared off. It was no surprise the Shelter From the Storm eviction was a key topic in the discussion. Howard pleaded with the commissioners, who were all in attendance, to wait to make adecisionabout the shelter advocacy center's closure. Howard said he and write-

The Island City City Council, following a sometimes contentious hearing, voted Monday night to let Oregon Trail Transport, a trucking company owned by Jon Fregulia, tocontinue operating at his home on Buchanan Lane. "I was very pleased," Fregulia said after the council's vote. Fregulia's right to operate his trucking company at his home has been challenged for close to four years by Debra and Scott Stevens, who live about 70 yards from Fregulia.
