THANKFUL THANKFUL
“Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.”
OPRAH WINFREY
The older I get, the more I realize the power of gratitude and being thankful. Unfortunately, gratitude is so frequently talked about that, for most people, it has become background noise. It is something we understand but not often put into daily practice. For a large part of my life, I certainly did not actively practice being grate ful. But once I started, I couldn’t stop.
Each morning when I wake up, I meditate/pray for 20 minutes. For a good portion of that time, I purely focus on being thankful and grateful for everything that I have in my life, no matter how seemingly small or large. From the clothes I am wearing, the water I am drinking, our pets, the room I am in, God, my health, fiancée, family, friends, church, finances, opportunities, my past (the good and the “bad”), my church, my busi ness, my team, my partners, the DFW real estate community, and on and on. I think of as many things as I possibly can and truly feel gratitude
for them. Even … no … especially if those things/areas in my life are not where I would ideally like them to be.
The result is so powerful, and the cumulative effect of this over time is life-changing. With Thanksgiving coming up, I want to challenge you to be extra intentional about being grateful and giving thanks for all you have. I feel very confi dent that if you do this for seven days straight that you will begin to experience the power of it.
One of the things that I am most grateful for is my beauti ful and amazing fiancée, Jess. On Sept. 17, I asked Jess to marry me. She said “Yes!” and made me the happiest man in the world. Some things are very easy to be grateful for, and she is one of them. On Oct. 6, 2023, we will take our vows, and I will probably cry like a baby that entire day. I am seriously so dang grateful for that human.
Lastly, the Second Annual DFW Real Producers Black Tie Awards Gala, known as The ESPE Awards, is almost here! This is an event that so many people love and is something that I am extremely grateful for. Stay tuned for lots of vid eos and photos recapping this event.
Happy Thanksgiving, y’all.
Stay Grateful!

16 • November 2022 @realproducers rising star Hudler FINDING FULFILLMENT Sara
Written by: Dave Danielson • Photos by: URSPECIAL
No matter what the statistics of your work are, chances are that the most rewarding parts of what you do are really about the people you help along the way.
Sara Hudler is driven to make a difference by that feeling.
As a REALTOR® with Coldwell Banker Apex in Rockwall, Sara finds fulfillment through the act of helping her clients reach their rewards.
“I love the moments when a client knows this is the house for them … and going through the process of being patient and letting them find the one,” she says. “It’s also about the relationships. My friend group has been built through real estate. The friendships I build through this business are invaluable.”
HER PATH TO PROGRESS
Sara was born and raised in Mesquite, Texas. In high school, she met Chris, the man who would become her husband. They were high school sweethearts. She fol lowed him to Texas Tech University, where he played football and coached. She then went on to finish out her education when she gradu ated from Mcneese State University.
“In time, we left Lubbock and moved to Louisiana for four years, where our second son was born. Eventually, we knew we needed to come home to Dallas. We missed it,” Sara remembers. “We moved back home in 2013. This is where we wanted to put down roots at.”
COMING HOME
As Sara and her family returned to Dallas, the area had changed quite
a bit in the ten years they had been away, so they needed to find their fit in the area again.
By the time Sara decided to get her real estate license in 2018, she had gained valuable experience in other fields. She had put herself through college, working with Ferguson, and gaining exposure to working with builders and clients.
“I really gained a love for the industry during that experience,” she says.
She also taught for seven years in school.
“I am very self-driven. I wanted every thing I was doing to be in my control. My big motto is ‘Making good things happen for other people,’” Sara says.
“My brother-in-law is a top-producing lender. He encouraged me to do real estate. I am super competitive, and
Dallas Real Producers • 17realproducersmag.com
I AM SUPER COMPETITIVE, AND I WANTED TO BE A TOP-PRODUCING AGENT AND WANTED TO HELP AS MANY PEOPLE AS I COULD.
I wanted to be a top-producing agent and wanted to help as many people as I could.”
SIGNS OF SUCCESS
Her efforts have created rewards all the way around. Last year she was ranked among the Top 25 Coldwell Banker Apex Agents based on volume recorded by an individual.
She was also featured in D Magazine the last three years and, through August, had already amassed over $19 million in sales volume on 50 closings.
FAMILY FIRST
Nothing comes before family for Sara. She cherishes time spent with her hus band, Chris, and their sons — Hayden and Mason.
“All three of them are my biggest cheerleaders, and their support means everything to me,” Sara says.
In her free time, Sara and her family are big sports lovers, including football. They also have two dogs that they like to spend time with.
When it comes to giving back to the community, Sara and her family enjoy supporting Forney and the local sports scene. They also enjoy being members of Lake Point Church.
LEADING BY EXAMPLE
One of the guiding forces in Sara’s world is clearly taking care of those around her and making sure that they can reach the goals they have.
As she says, “People know they can call me any time to come alongside them to support them because you create that bond with them through life.”
Whether she is serving the needs of her clients or her community, Sara finds fulfillment by creating success with oth ers and making a lasting, positive mark.

TAN EVANS AND LOFT ALLURE
OPTIMIZING OPPORTUNITIES
Written by: Dave Danielson • Photos by: URSPECIAL
What drives you in what you do every day? What inspires you and moves you forward in all that you do?
When you think about all of the facets of real estate that you assist your clients with, one of the central themes is that you are helping them move closer to achieving their goals.
Tan Evans lends her expertise and perspec tive to her REALTOR® partners and clients.
TAKING DEEP PRIDE
As Owner of Loft Allure, Tan takes great pride in opti mizing the opportunities for those she serves through home staging and short-term rental stylings.
“Our goal is to help home sellers earn the most from their home sale, and we strive to achieve that by
Dallas Real Producers • 25realproducersmag.com
optimizing the way the home is seen by potential buyers,” Tan explains.
“We take into consideration the online experience, as well as the in-person walk-through. We cater to both. We highlight the features of the home and the design of the architec ture. Because no home is perfect, we stage to help buyers see how to over come the perceived home challenges.”
A NEW APPROACH
Tan created Loft Allure a little over a year ago with the aim of bringing a fresh, new approach to the city. But her involvement in the business goes back in time.
“The first home I staged was my own when I sold it about seven years ago. My REALTOR® thought I did a great job, so she asked me to help her with her properties,” Tan says.
“The first home was so much fun. When it sold in record time above asking price, it was a rush for me. I started staging it for fun and eventu ally became certified. My team and I have been doing it ever since.”
FINDING JOY
The passion that Tan has for her work revolves around the end result she and her team are able to help create.
“Our favorite part is the home sale. When the seller gets an excellent offer for their home, that gives us a strong sense of joy.”
One of the most fulfilling parts of her work is the teamwork that Tan enjoys with the five other stagers on her team.
FAMILY FOUNDATION
Away from work, Tan’s world is made much richer by her family. She cher ishes time spent with her husband of 18 years, Joshua, and their daughters — Jocelyn and Joelle.
In her free time, Tan has a love for attending live music events and art shows.
IT STARTS WITH RELATIONSHIPS
Being there when it matters most is at the heart of what they do … it’s very rewarding for Tan and her team members.
“I love the relationships we build with our REALTOR® partners. It means a lot to me when they call us because we offer a particular modern, on-trend look,” Tan says.
“I want people to know that we are pushing for the best results for them. We really want the best results for them.”
While there are many rewards in the world of real estate, one of the most ful filling revolves around the relationships that are built.
That’s what Tan Evans and her team take on each day — and achieve — through their staging and design work — in turn, optimizing opportunities.

The shortest distance between two points is a direct line. The same applies to the world of real estate. And you’ll reach your goals faster if you go all in with dedication and a hunger to get it done.
That’s the spirit that drives Jamie Kohlmann through her work with her clients.
As a REALTOR® with Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate, Jamie is on a mission for those around her … going full speed forward.
“I really love the relationships that I’m blessed to have with people,” Jamie says. “I’m really an extrovert, and I like putting that energy into making good things happen for my clients and those around me.”
FULL SPEED FORWARD
Written by: Dave Danielson • Photos by: URSPECIAL
Illustrious Career
Jamie has built an illustrious real estate career in a relatively short time. Her life before she got into the business was equally impressive, as well.
After she completed high school, Jamie went to Rice University. And once her education was completed, she entered the working world and enjoyed success in consulting after that. In the process, she competed for and earned the title of Miss Texas. Once she was crowned, she embarked on a dizzying tour of nearly 400 appearances around the state and beyond.
“Being able to serve as Miss Texas was a great honor, and it gave me a ton of experience in public speaking. In time, I moved into public policy, including
education policy,” Jamie says. “I did that in a vari ety of capacities for about ten years.”
The Start of Something Special
In time, Jamie met Ben, the man who would become her husband.
“He was in the Navy at the time. So, we’ve done a lot of moving around,” she says.
“As part of that, I’ve lived in multiple cities on both coasts. In all those moves, I had thought about getting my real estate license, but we hadn’t stayed in one place long enough for it to make sense.”
Finding Their Dallas Home
Eventually, Jamie moved back to Dallas and bought a house here. But she and Ben were about to face a challenge.
Dallas Real Producers • 29realproducersmag.com
I’VE LIVED IN MULTIPLE CITIES ON BOTH COASTS. IN ALL THOSE MOVES, I had thought about getting my real estate license.
“Two months after we moved here, I got laid off from what I had thought was my dream job. So I decided to get my license in 2017, and I started with Dave PerryMiller,” Jamie remembers.
“I was on my own that first year and didn’t sell a lot. My second year is when it really took off, and I joined the PerryMiller Streiff Group with Team Leader Ryan Streiff.”
Remarkable Results
Her success in the business has been remarkable.
In fact, in 2021, she recorded over $50 mil lion in sales volume.
Family Foundation
Life for Jamie is made much richer by family. She treasures time with Ben (celebrating ten years of marriage) and their children — 7-year-old son, Rhett; 5-year-old son, Knox and 3-year-old daughter, Nora.
In her free time, Jamie enjoys singing at her church — Park Cities Presbyterian. She also serves on the board of directors of various nonprofit groups, including BraveLove, an organization with the mission of changing the public’s perception of adoption.
Plus, she has volunteered to pull together and create a private school database that is now an online resource, including costs, who is served, and deadlines.
Jamie also plays the piano — an instrument she first started learn ing when she was just 5 years old.
Free time is filled with family, both immediate and extended. Jamie and Ben love to host din ner parties, and the whole family looks forward to moments in their backyard and swimming pool.
With an energetic spark and the determination to succeed for those she serves, Jamie moves full speed forward.

CHRIS CHRIS
BLACKMAN
BLACKMAN WHAT MATTERS MOST
YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN AN OPPORTUNITY IS GOING TO ARISE THAT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE … AND, IN TURN, GIVE YOU A CHANCE TO CHANGE
THE LIVES OF THOSE AROUND YOU.
Chris Blackman is absolutely living proof of that.
PASSION WITH PURPOSE
As a REALTOR® and principal of The Blackman Group with Compass Real Estate, Chris exemplifies what can happen in life when you channel your experience and passion toward helping people with one of the things that matters most in their lives … finding their way to their new home.
“Real estate has made my life so different. I got in thinking it might be temporary and that maybe I would end up in the commercial side of the business, but what has evolved from that is that I realize the power of what we do. I truly believe that residential real estate is hands-down the best investment people can make in their own lives,” Chris says with a spark.
“We focus on helping people realize that dream … getting into a home, fixing it up, making it their own, then mov ing on and moving up. We’ve watched so many do that. We really whole-heartedly believe in that story we get to shape for people.”
THE RESULTS OF CARING
That kind of energetic passion is contagious. That belief makes a difference in the lives of the people who Chris and his team work with each day.
BUILDING FOR THESE MOMENTS
Chris got his start in the business about ten years ago. But it seems that he had been making his way toward real estate all along the way, beginning with an entrepreneurial spark that he caught from his father.
“My dad was a passionate entrepreneur. I saw that, and I grew up under that scenario and have been proud to take after him. In my early days, I went to the University of Texas. After graduation, I went back to East Texas and helped my dad run some of his busi nesses for five years,” Chris remembers. “My dad was in the retail gasoline business, so I came to the Metroplex in 1988 to work with a high-octane motor fuel that I had developed.”
OPENING THE DOOR
While that particular business didn’t take off, Chris ventured into all types of inter esting professional territories … running a variety of businesses (including distribut ing films to retailers) to not only survive … but to set the stage to thrive.
REALTOR® on the rise
Written by: Dave Danielson Photos by: URSPECIAL
As a result, their repeat business is what drives their ongoing success. There’s no need for advertising with what the team is doing now. Nothing against advertising, but the people who Chris and his team help are telling that story in a way that goes beyond marketing campaigns.
“In time, I talked with an old high school friend of mine, Terri Cox, who was in real estate. I asked her if she thought I could do this. She said she did and that she would teach me,” he recalls. “She was amazing and taught me so much. She is the reason I’ve had such success. After a year and a half of soaking up as much as I could from her with Allie Beth Allman & Associates, I struck out on my own.”
Chris continued building through time. After about seven years, he moved to Compass Real Estate, where he is today.
“I’ve enjoyed all of the experiences I’ve had. As part of that, I really appreciate the great leadership that I am exposed to with Compass Real Estate as part of the Park Cities office.”
SHARING THE SAME PATH IN LIFE AND BUSINESS
One of the most rewarding parts of his work is the fact that he gets to share it with his wife, Diana, who is also an Agent on the team. Diana was on the faculty of the English Department at SMU.
Together with their team, Chris and Diana are building a special success story. Through September of this year, they had already recorded 52 transactions, with plenty more difference-making to come.
Of course, all of the success in the world is given purpose by family. Chris treasures the time he and Diana have together with their chil dren, including two daughters (Jen Lavelle and Candace Hines) and a son (Danny Solomon).
Their life is also made richer by their two puppies. When they aren’t hanging out with them, Chris and Diana have a passion for running and are self-avowed workout nuts.
“I have a need for speed. But now I get that out through my old er-model Porsche,” he smiles. “I love going up to local tracks on the weekends and letting it loose.”
When it comes to giving back, Chris and Diana enjoy giving back through St. Michael’s Episcopal Church. Chris also sits on the Board of Directors for the YMCA in Park Cities. Another passion is his mem bership in the Park Cities Rotary.
Another powerful way they make a difference is by mentoring through an effort called Life After Ball.
“It’s through SMU Athletics. Everyone who plays collegiate sports wants to go on and play on Sundays in the profes sional ranks, but the number who get to do that is small. So, SMU Athletics created Life After Ball … a mentorship program that works with current ath letes to help them make other connec tions beyond their sports,” Chris says. “Every year, we work with three or four football players. We share what we do with them; we mentor them and answer their questions.”
There’s just no two ways about it. When you meet Chris, you know you’ve met a man who cares and who definitely hangs his hat on honesty and making a genuine difference. He’s doing it day by day. And in the end, isn’t that what matters most?

As brokers with Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty, they thrive on creating great outcomes for their clients.
When asked specifically what they do to ensure these results, Alex said, “You have to keep the balance in perspective at all times. Real estate is the most expensive single investment most people will ever have. As such, the business side of the transaction requires an agent, or in our case, brokers, to have extensive knowledge, advice, and profes sionalism. But there is also a very personal and emotional side to the transaction as this home will be the place where their children lay their heads at night and where memories are made,” Karla says. “This fosters a per sonal relationship that intertwines with the business relationship.”
“Whether they are buying or selling, we are working for them with both of these import ant aspects of the transaction in mind, which allows us to truly understand and know what our clients are wanting … and how we can best serve them to get there.”

GETTING THEIR START
Karla received her Texas Real Estate Salesmanship license in 1988 but became active in real estate in 2000, with Alex joining her in 2008.
Having grown up in Highland Park, Karla graduated from Highland Park High School. She then went on to Baylor University and Baylor Law School.
After she completed her formal educa tion, she moved back to Dallas, where she practiced law. Eventually, she closed her law practice and began her career in real estate in 2000.
Alex grew up in San Angelo and gradu ated with a business marketing degree from Texas A&M. After college, he moved to Dallas, where he worked in the IT and operations field for 15 years.
“I was working in the corporate world, and meanwhile, Karla is doing a great job of growing her real estate business and eventually convinced me to join her,” Alex says. “I started my career in real estate just as the market began its downturn in 2008. That being said, I wouldn’t have changed the timing of my move one bit since you learn so much more working in a challenging market than when it’s booming. We were able
to grow our business year-over-year, even when the market was struggling.”
MADE FOR EACH OTHER
Alex and Karla appreciate having the chance to share the same path in life and business together.
“Karla is very detail-oriented. I am more of a big-picture person. So, we really balance each other out,” Alex explains. “We look at properties in different ways, which has been a real benefit to our clients by providing dif ferent views when evaluating property options, remodeling ideas, and invest ment opportunities.”
Karla looks forward to sharing her days with Alex, too.
“My favorite part of working with Alex is that he keeps me from getting stuck in the weeds with my detailed nature and adds years to my life with his great sense of humor. I love getting to work with him,” Karla points out. “We share office space together at home and at the office. We have regularly scheduled (working) lunch dates so that we can stay on the same page with all our mutual clients. I look forward to that time with him.”
The recipe works very well for Karla and Alex. In fact, they have consis tently ranked among the top ten per cent of the agents in their office, as well as having been awarded D Magazine Best REALTORS® and Top Producers, consecutively, for many years now.
FAMILY FULFILLMENT
When they are not working, family is at the heart of their life for Karla and Alex.
They cherish time with their three chil dren — Abby, who is a senior at Boston University; Rhett, who is a freshman at Auburn; and Blake, who is a sopho more at Highland Park High School.
In their free time, the family enjoys moments spent with their two rescue
dogs — Hank and Boz. They also love to travel. One of their favorite things to do when they travel is scuba diving, which is an activity the entire family enjoys. In fact, their daughter is a cer tified dive instructor, and both boys are rescue divers.
Alex is a Deacon with their church and is the Boy Scout Troop Committee Chairman for Troop 82. Karla is on the board of the Highland Park Alumni Association and also on the executive board of directors at Camp Sweeney, which is the largest camp in the nation for children with type 1 diabetes.
When clients begin their path of work ing with Alex and Karla, they know it’s a journey that will keep going well into the future since almost all their clients wind up as friends.
“We always tell people once we leave the closing table, leave our numbers on your phone,” Karla says. “We are here to help in whatever way we can. Whether it’s finding a pediatrician for their kids or the best place for a haircut, we want to be there to help today and tomorrow.”
As Alex says, “We truly enjoy being full-service REALTORS®. Our service doesn’t end at the closing table.”

Real Producers magazine started in Indianapolis in 2015 and is now in over 100 markets across the nation and con tinues to spread rapidly. Real Producers first launched in DFW in August 2018 with North DFW Real Producers (now called “North Dallas”). In May 2019, Dallas Real Producers launched, and then Tarrant Real Producers in March of 2021.
In 2022, Tarrant Real Producers split into two publications, North Fort Worth and Fort Worth Real Producers. Fort Worth Real Producers will go to print later this year.
Q: WHO RECEIVES Real Producers MAGAZINES?
A: The top 500 real estate agents in each of the four markets in DFW based on their MLS production for the previous year. Refer to the map in this publication for the exact territories. If your broker address is within that given territory and you are in the top 500, you will receive that publica tion for the year. There are approximately 60,000 licensed real estate agents in DFW. The list will reset at the end of every year and continue to update annually.
Q: WHAT IS THE GOAL OF THIS MAGAZINE?
A: We believe that we are better together. When we surround ourselves with other successful, like-minded people, we grow to new heights. Real Producers is a platform that brings together the most elite individ uals in DFW real estate.
We take the top 500 real estate agents and RP-vetted businesses in every market, and we build an exclusive community around that group. We share their stories,
successes, market trends, upcoming events — really, anything that will connect, inform and inspire, we put in our monthly publication.
Q: DOES Real Producers HAVE EVENTS?
A: Yes! Each community will have two main events a year, and then we do a combined event at the end of the year, which is an awards gala called The ESPEs. For these events, we invite the top 500 real estate agents and our RP-vetted businesses. Top 500 agents are allowed to invite members on their team as well. These events are an incredible opportunity to connect with the best of the best in DFW real estate. It is amazing to see the power in the connections made at these events. Be on the lookout for your exclusive invites!
Q: WHAT IS THE PROCESS FOR BEING FEATURED IN THIS MAGAZINE?
A: It’s really simple. You have to be on the top 500 list, and we take nomi nations seriously. You can nominate other real estate agents, businesses, brokers, owners, or even yourself! Office leaders can also nominate real estate agents. We will consider any one brought to our attention who is in the top 500 because we don’t know everyone’s story, so we need your help to learn about them. We cannot guarantee a feature, but we encour age you to meet with one of our team members, support Real Producers, and attend our private events to increase your chances.
You can email your nominations to jordan.espeseth@ realproducersmag.com.
Q: WHAT DOES IT COST A REAL ESTATE AGENT/TEAM TO BE FEATURED?
A: Zero, zilch, zippo, nada, nil. It costs nothing, my friends, so nom inate away! We are not a pay-toplay model. We share real stories of Real Producers.
Q: WHO ARE THE RP-VETTED BUSINESSES?
A: They are one of the best busi nesses in DFW in their category, and you can find them listed in our index! We don’t just find these businesses off the street, nor do we work with all businesses that approach us. One of many of the top real estate agents has recommended every single business you see in this publication. We won’t even meet with a business that has not been vetted by one of you and “stamped for approval,” in a sense. Our team will further vet every business to make sure they are a good fit and bring value to our community. Our goal is to create a powerhouse network, not only for the best real estate agents in the area but the best businesses, as well, so we can grow stronger together.
