WELCOME

Welcome to the exciting world of STEAM! We’re thrilled to invite you on a journey that fuses creativity, innovation, and dynamic problem solving.

In this interdisciplinary approach to teaching and learning, curiosity fuels us to learn and do more. Whether you’re passionate about coding, making, engineering, design, robotics, or aviation, you’ll find a home where you can explore your passions and expand your skills.

Just like the gears of a well-oiled machine, our community thrives on collaboration. In STEAM, you’re an integral part of a team that’s asking curious questions, discussing new possibilities, and taking creative action. From robotics to data science, from designing virtual worlds to designing for life in space, there’s something for everyone.

Expect to be challenged, to be inspired, and, most importantly, to dream big. As you explore complex ideas and dive into projects, experiments, and collaborative endeavors, remember that every challenge you face bears valuable information and is an opportunity to learn.

Our esteemed faculty of educators are catalysts for learning. Students draw inspiration from the experiences crafted by their teachers, both inside and beyond the lab. Our collaboration with Massachusetts Institute of Technology enriches our STEAM curriculum with the culture of MIT.

North Broward students code their dreams into reality, engineer solutions to real-world challenges, and meaningfully integrate different ways of thinking to spark innovation. The world of STEAM is theirs to explore, and we can’t wait to see the incredible discoveries they’ll make.

Sincerely,

SHAPING THE NEXT GENERATION OF INNOVATORS

Our coders take a blank canvas and transform it, writing the rules by which it operates. They shift from users of the digital world to makers of it. Students discover the art of code and harness its power as a tool for innovation and creativity.

MIT COLLABORATION

THE MIT-NORD ANGLIA COLLABORATION

The collaboration between Nord Anglia Education (NAE) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) seeks to enhance teaching, learning, and student outcomes in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM). The MIT–Nord Anglia Collaboration is designed to prepare students for our rapidly evolving future, equipping them with the skills and techniques to thrive in diverse fields and contribute to the world.

MIT CULTURE

We are inspired by MIT innovation and culture, and we champion interdisciplinary collaboration, student-driven passion, and authentic problem-solving. We recognize the value of failure and failing fast to contribute to and solidify our learning.

NAE-MIT STUDENT TRIP

High school students interested in STEAM have the exciting opportunity to attend a week-long trip to MIT. Students learn from professors, interact with Curiosity Correspondents, and collaborate with students from around the world on interdisciplinary projects.

MIT ABSTRACTS

The collaboration connects the NBPS community with recent graduates and advanced university scholars in live webinar experiences featuring expert presentations and open Q&A sessions. Students will explore unique academic journeys and cutting-edge research.

LEARNING INSPIRED BY MIT

Learning is supported by fun Home Labs and Ask MIT. Home Labs feature online videos where Curiosity Correspondents present science and engineering topics for students to explore. Ask MIT invites students to stay curious and submit their STEAM questions. A Curiosity Correspondent will track down answers from MIT experts in this engaging video series.

MIT CHALLENGES

The MIT–Nord Anglia Collaboration bridges MIT research labs and NBPS classrooms. Each year, the MIT Team develops three challenges that bring active MIT research into Nord Anglia classrooms to inspire students through the same Mens et Manus (Mind and Hand) ethos that guides MIT faculty and students. These challenges inspire students and faculty with a hands-on, interdisciplinary exploration of real-world problems.

OPENING WORLDS OF UNDERSTANDING

Tackling complex challenges requires a creative mindset. The MIT collaboration inspires us to learn new skills and new knowledge. We are enriched by an exploration of the latest thinking in STEAM.

GLOBAL OPPORTUNITIES

Learning has no limits at Nord Anglia Education. The Global Campus connects our students with fellow students from 80+ schools to collaborate, discuss and learn together every day. The Global Campus offers exceptional opportunities that empower, excite, inspire and challenge Nord Anglia Education students around the world.

GLOBAL CONNECTION

Global Campus is a vibrant, interactive space where students connect to collaborate on STEAM and MIT Challenges. It enables them to exchange ideas, showcase their work, and explore global problemsolving together.

REGIONAL STEAM FESTIVAL

The Americas Regional STEAM Festival is an exciting event for young innovators from our school community. Nord Anglia students are inspired by hands-on challenges, collaborative projects, and interactive workshops led by experts, including local researchers and engineers.

STEAM CLUB

Students can participate in monthly activities to get their brains thinking about science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. Whether you are looking at astronauts’ food or diving deep into the ocean, there is an activity for you.

ECO-SCHOOLS

Do you want to improve the environment in your school and local community? Eco-Schools is full of practical ideas to inspire students to take action and make a difference.
