WE HOPE THAT YOU’RE ALL DOING OK, AND HUNKERING DOWN TO GET THROUGH THIS STRANGE WINTER Welcome to February’s Beer Club box. And this box finally sees the arrival of Springwell Pils!

We’ve been working on this beer for months, and are so proud with how its tasting. The can design from Refold is giving us all sorts of retro sportswear vibes, and we spent last week trying to deliver 99 can boxes to addresses in Leeds without looking too much like some sort of an amateur comedy sketch…

Alongside Springwell Pils we have a brand new Triple Fruited Gose. Ever since we teamed up with Verdant to brew our first TFG back in Spring 2018 the whole brewery team counts down till the next TFG canning day! This beer is our 16th version of the style, with yet another combination of fruits being used. We also have our collaborations with Track and Donzoko (both breweries were featured as guest beers in

last month’s boxes) as well as a brand new TIPA, and rebrews of a few favourites from the last few months.

SUSTAINABILITY Last month we laid out our New Year’s Resolutions for the year.

Improving our sustainability is going to be key to the decisions that we make here at North.

Our move to Springwell sees us partner with Planet-U to install solar panels, and switch our delivery vehicles to electric vans. We’ll have onsite electric vehicle charging points, alongside extensive bike racks to encourage eco-friendly solutions for our commute.

We are working with new merchandise providers to responsibly source our brewery clothing, both for the team working in the brewery and the t-shirts sold through our webshop and bars. Our tees are manufactured in an ethically accredited wind powered factory in India, and printed in the Isle of White.

Everything from the dyes to the labels are sustainably sourced.

This month’s box includes a reusable North facemask, featuring an exclusive Refold design.

These facemasks are produced by Bags of Ethics, using responsibly sourced cotton, and were recently awarded a Which Best Buy. As we face a more transmittable form of the virus keeping safe is of paramount importance (and gets us closer to pints!).

Hops Mosaic Cryo + Mosaic + El Dorado + Columbus

Our latest TIPA combines Mosaic two ways, our house favourite El Dorado and a touch of Columbus, producing heavy ripe fruits from the tropics.

Flavours of Papaya, passion fruit, custard apple, mango, strawberry and cantaloupe are all finished off with a delicious drizzle of gloopy golden honey.

NORTH X TRACK Style

El Dorado + Citra + Talus

We teamed up with some of our favourite people in Manchester for another collab! This IPA is a 6.8% light fluffy cloud of positivity.

Both breweries delved into bags of Talus in our brews last year (anyone remember Into the Merzbau?) and we’re united by our love for its bright lime, juicy orange and creamy coconut profile! For good measure, we sprinkled in some El Dorado, Citra and orange zest to polish up that citrus sunshine!

TFG: BLUEBERRY + APRICOT Style

Triple Fruited Gose

None – just LOADS of fruit!

Enter TFG16! This iteration sees 1.2 tonnes of organic blueberry and apricot puree making for a bright pink hue with sweet grape, floral and peachy flavours.

We’ve used a little lactose to thicken it further and bring out every single one of those fruit flavours and salt, curving that sour tart smack and rounding it all off on the finish. All at a delightfully sessionable 4.5%! The epitome of a juice bomb!

It’s finally here! Apologies to those long time Beer Club subscribers who had been expecting this beer a little earlier… We wanted to get it just right!

A cold, crisp pilsner to be drunk on hot sunny days. Want to know more? We’ve included a whole booklet about Springwell Pils in with your boxes this month!

NORTH X PREMIER HOP Style

Hops Nelson Sauvin + Amarillo + Simcoe + Citra

We cannot get enough of this beer! A real staff favourite since first brewing it to celebrate Premier Hop’s birthday, this DIPA is all about the hops. I get so. much. melon. Yes please!

This beer showcases Nelson Sauvin from New Zealand. This tropical hop bomb lends flavours of pineapple, honeydew melon, lime wedges and mango. Thick, sticky and sweet. A proper DIPA.

PALE BLUE EYES Style

West Coast Pale Ale

Ahtanum + Centennial + Simcoe

Pale Blue Eyes is a classic West Coast Pale: It’s crisp, it’s 5.5%, it’s not going to get you in trouble. Silky, resinous, oily hops coat your mouth. Blood orange juice squeezes over your tongue, aromas of flower bouquets and pine fill your nose. We’ve tweaked the recipe a little since the first brew - let us know what you think of this version in the Beer Club Facebook group.

PIÑATA Style

Mango + Guava Pale Ale

Made using New World Hops and Organic Fruit Puree, tropical flavour explodes in this sessionable tropical pale ale.

A core favourite and staple of our summer food fair Eat North - Pinata reminds us of sunny days in beer gardens during these long winter nights.

Goes great with spicy food - or would be brilliant with a spiced up version of the pork ramen recipe in the Springwell booklet.

ORNAMENT Style

Session Kveik IPA

Introduced last summer, Ornament is the newest member of our core range. And it keeps getting better with every brew.

Crisp bitterness, fresh hops and kveik yeast create this light Session IPA full of lemon and grapefruit citrus zest flavour.

NORTH X DONZOKO Style

Dark Lager

ABV

Mittelfruh

A Dark Lager to warm you in these cold winter months. Pilsner malt makes a light and sweet body whilst Vienna and Cara malts provide subtle bitterness and red berry coffee flavour.

An addition of German Mittelfrüh hops accentuate that fruity coffee element and whisk subtle liquorice flavours across your nose and tongue at the same time giving you little dry finish. Keep safe and keep warm.
