Role Overview

Title: Associate Commercial Manager

Package: Up to £55,000 Depending on Experience

Working Pattern: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Location: Agile and the successful candidate will be aligned to the nearest Norse Group Office

Role Purpose

The Associate - Commercial Manager (ACM) plays a key role in the leading of the Consulting Group’s commercial strategic objectives to ensure commercial success. The role will oversee the central running of commercial operations across all business units within Norse Consulting, reporting directly to the Director Strategy & Growth. This role is designed to streamline commercial processes, enhance operational efficiency, improve financial reporting, and drive greater accountability across the commercial activities of the Consulting Group.

The role will ensure that the commercial teams provide excellence in their support to the operational teams and also work collaboratively with the Head of Finance and the Finance Business Partners. The ACM will be pivotal in ensuring consistency in the commercial activities of each consulting company, improving the quality of financial data, and supporting the Group’s transition to Microsoft D365 for financial management.

Successful shortlisted candidates will be contacted and notified of interviews by phone and/or email, so it is essential that this information is provided in your application.

If you are shortlisted for interview, you will be asked to provide original documentation pertaining to your entitlement to work in the UK in line with a list of acceptable documents which will be provided during the interview process.

As part of the interview process candidates will be asked to complete a psychometric test, this measures things like personality, aptitude and general intelligence. In addition to this we also will ask candidates to create a presentation - further details of this will be provided

Strategic Leadership

 Inspire a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement, ensuring that highquality products and services are delivered across all teams.

 Support the transition to Microsoft D365, ensuring the commercial aspects of the business are well-prepared for digital transformation.

Commercial Management

 Centralisation of Commercial Processes: Lead the centralisation of commercial operations across the businesses to ensure uniform financial processes and reporting standards.

 Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, using standardised methodologies and reporting formats across all business units.

 Provide the framework to analyse data for project performance reviews and support the delivery of these.

Team Leadership and Collaboration

 Team Coordination: Serve as the primary lead for the group commercial team, facilitating collaboration and ensuring all companies work together towards common strategic objectives.

 Lead a team of commercial managers, business analysts, and support staff, ensuring the smooth execution of their roles within the commercial process.

 Support the Commercial Directors in driving profitability and cost control initiatives, aligning commercial outcomes with broader business goals.

Market and Industry Analysis

 Provide a framework to benchmark project data and financial results within the business that provides comparators with industry.

Process Improvement and Change Management

 Identify key process changes and improvements necessary for the centralised commercial function, working with stakeholders to ensure successful implementation.

 Assist in the adaptation of business support functions and the redistribution of admin tasks to ensure that the commercial function receives adequate focus.

Compliance and Governance

 Quality Management: Collaborate with stakeholders to implement and oversee the Quality Management System (QMS) across the group’s commercial processes, promoting adherence to industry standards and continuous improvement.

 Risk Management: Support the identification and mitigation of commercial risks across the group, ensuring cohesive business reviews that covers all businesses.

Candidate Requirements

Key Competencies

Travel Requirements: Execute duties that will involve occasional travel to various locations for meetings and collaboration with other teams.

Education :

1) HNC/HND or equivalent in a related discipline and/or can demonstrate significant relevant experience – Essential

2) Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a Business Management or Property Related discipline or be working or prepared to work towards – Desirable

Experience: Extensive experience in a commercial, financial, or operational leadership role. In addition, experience in overseeing teams and managing cross-functional operations.

Leadership: Proven ability to manage teams, drive change, and implement process improvements across multiple business units.

Commercial Expertise: Strong understanding of commercial contract management, supply chain management, and financial governance.

Systems Knowledge: Experience with financial systems (Microsoft D365 or similar ERP platforms) and understanding of how to align commercial processes with new digital tools.

Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse financial data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations to improve business performance.

Change Management: Experience in driving change within an organisation, managing transitions smoothly, and gaining stakeholder buy-in.

Governance: Strong knowledge of governance frameworks, internal controls, and compliance within commercial functions.
