For the first six years I ran on my own. After a move to Georgetown, I met a group of like-minded runners, many of whom remain friends almost forty years later. After that, every time we moved and every time I joined a new group, I have been fortunate enough to make new friends. Those friendships have helped to define my life and have brought unimagined pleasure and contentment.

improve helps define us. In my case, I began running as an adult in my early thirties because I needed to be in better shape to play hockey at a level that would satisfy me.

RUN

WHY RUNNING? “Play is work done for pleasure.“ - John Jerome There is simply no telling the heart. It goes where it wants to go. We are in the depths of winter. Snow is piled up on the sides of the roads and the trails are icy. It is cold and dark in the morning. The winds can be biting. Yet I wake up each day wanting to go for a run, even though it has been years since I could run swiftly and fluidly. Yet still I dream… This magnificent sport still has an iron-clad hold on me. I wonder why. I believe it is because running is the most elemental of sports. We can be free, going when we want, where we want. There are no schedules if we don’t want there to be. There are no rules. Running is both physical and spiritual. Nothing except lack of training can take away our right to run as hard as we want to. We can generate as much exertion as we choose and we can let our thoughts wander wherever they go. It seems to me that to keep going as I age is important to my happiness and to feeling life is worthwhile. Physical aging is, in large part, a deterioration of all our connective tissue. As we get older, we stiffen and become tighter. Aging in a way is a disease of not enough movement. Movement is what helps to keep us loose. We do have to acknowledge aging and sometimes we can’t push as hard as we want to without breaking down. Longer recovery time after hard efforts is needed. Overuse injuries seem to come more frequently. But over time, we learn more about our bodies and our capabilities out of necessity if we want the pleasure of running to continue to be part of our lives. Athletes are merely people trying to get the most out of their physical selves. Along the way, we learn to become self-starters and to direct our own lives. Most runners started because we wanted to improve something in our lives. That drive and struggle to

Running and competing helped me to develop confidence in myself. I know that when I have had self-doubt, it has eroded my will. When I am tentative in any part of my life, the outcome is generally poor as I do not perform at my best. Life is better when you do not feel hesitant. Running brought me toward sureness. Sometimes you need to have the confidence to take the time for something to work out for you, whether it be learning a new skill, developing a friendship or sticking with a training program. Nothing is more important than patience when you are training to become fitter or faster. We can accomplish great things if we can remain steadfast over a long period of time. By staying with running for over forty years, I have come from running one mile with a rest half way on a summer’s day in 1976, to being able to complete 500 kilometres in six days last year. For me, taking part in races has been a very positive experience. I am by nature competitive and as soon as I started planning within a framework of competing to In The Long Run Proudly Sponsored By

win, my training came into focus and my commitment to the task was solidified. When I have a goal, it is so much easier to develop and stay on a meaningful program. Consistency is required in order to truly improve and maximize potential. To others it may seem obsessive behaviour. But if you go at things a little obsessively, doesn’t that mean that you are engaged in life? Studies have shown that regular exercise decreases aggression and lessens irritability (maybe we’re too tired to be bothered by stuff!). Running lowers anxiety and enhances our self-esteem. Often we spend too many hours with our heads whirling and our bodies still, not realizing that we can reverse that situation for part of almost any day if we choose to. It seems to me that, because I experience the thrill of challenging myself and of extending myself to do more, I enjoy life more than I would otherwise. It helps me to appreciate the efforts made by athletes in all sports and, furthermore, illuminates the efforts of those in many of life’s other endeavours. We have more energy for a fuller participation in the world when we are fit. Speaking only for me, running helped me develop a true sense of sportsmanship. I have participated in sports all my life and I have always had a very competitive nature. When I was young, I think I was a gracious winner but I was not always a gracious loser

because I wanted to win so badly. I’ll cite one example, of many, of slowly learning the hard way. I was a member of my high school senior cross-country team. In one meet I ran poorly and was very mad at myself. In those days, each runner was handed a little square of cardboard with his finishing position on it as he exited the finishing chute. I went off by myself and headed toward a fence and the forest. After crumpling up the card (#34), I threw it as far as I could into the woods and then slowly made my way back to the other runners. My coach found me and wanted my card as I was still a counter for the team total and he had to hand in our results. Thus I had to run back to the woods, climb the fence, hunt around to find my card and return it as quickly as I could. There was a lot of growing up for me to do and running helped. Eventually, I came to understand that what feels right is to respect the achievements and efforts of everyone, not just think of myself. In ultrarunning everyone seems to know that it is a challenge for all of us and respect for every participant seems so natural. It took me a while to get here but I am grateful that I stayed with it. In a future article, I would like to further examine the benefits of staying physically very active into old age.

DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME

BEGINS AT 3:00 A.M. ON SUNDAY MARCH 10

DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME FACTS FROM THE CBC ► The concept of daylight time was first raised by entomologist George Hudson in 1895, who wanted more daylight hours to study insects.

DID YOU KNOW?

► It was raised again in 1905 by Englishman William Willett (the great-great-grandfather of Coldplay frontman Chris Martin) who proposed it to Parliament, though lawmakers had yet to take to his idea when he died in 1915. ► A little known fact, however, is that Port Arthur - the Ontario town that became part of Thunder Bay - first used daylight time in 1908, after passing a bylaw. ► But Germany was the first country to adopt the time change, on April 30, 1916 - in the middle of the First World War - in an effort to conserve electricity. Just a few weeks later, the U.K. also adopted the practice. However, after the war ended so, largely, did use of daylight time. ► Standardized in the '60s ► In Canada, whether to follow daylight time is a provincial matter, unlike at first, when its use varied from town to town. ► Regina implemented the time change on April 23, 1914, followed by Winnipeg and Brandon, Man., and eventually Halifax, Hamilton, Montreal and St. John's. ► Daylight time was used on-again, off-again through the Second World War. It was standardized across the U.S. in 1966 when Congress passed the Uniform Time Act, and Canada soon followed suit. ► But even today, not all Canadians have to change their clocks. In Saskatchewan, unless you live in the border town of Lloydminster, you stick with Central Standard Time. And some regions in Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia and Nunavut also don't observe daylight time.

DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME VEHICLE CHECKLIST

When Daylight Savings Time arrives later this month, we will all breathe a sigh of relief that spring is just around the corner. We will start to make plans for planting the garden with a visit to Canadian Tire’s Seasonal department. We will start spring cleaning inside and outside the house with a visit to Canadian Tire’s Hardware and Houseware departments. We will start to think about keeping the car clean with a visit to Canadian Tire’s Automotive department. The one item we seem to ignore is the rest of our vehicle which has served us so well over the icy cold winter. Proper vehicle maintenance heading into the spring season is essential. Ask Bill and the team at Canadian Tire Simcoe and Delhi to go over the comprehensive and complimentary vehicle inspection report, which is standard on all work from oil changes to brake jobs. Check out the extent of the inspection!

LAKE ERIE:

A World-Class Walleye Fishery Lake Erie is certainly a world-class walleye fishery - especially over the last few years. Add to it the opportunity to hook and land bright steelhead as a bonus during the fishing expedition and it is no wonder so many anglers target Lake Erie’s walleye on both sides of the international border. Lake Erie, while being the smallest of the Great Lakes, is the most productive of these lakes. This is due to the surrounding fertile soils. Lake Erie is biologically productive as well. Not only is it home to walleye and steelhead but also carp; smallmouth bass; largemouth bass; many panfish species; northern pike; salmon, both chinook and coho and many other fish species. The year 2018 was predicted to produce a banner walleye fishing year. It did not fail to live up to the hype. It was estimated that Lake Erie’s walleye population could be 140 million. If so, that’s an amazing number of fish! The outlook for this to continue is exceptional at this time. There is very good news to support the aforementioned statements. Why? The 2015 walleye hatch was estimated to be one of the largest ever in Lake Erie. The lake did experience good spawn years in 2003, 2006 and 2007 as well. For anglers looking for large fish, the good news is some of those 2003 fish are still swimming in the waters of Lake Erie. These walleye will be in the ten to fourteen pound size range and approximately 30 inches. That is a trophy walleye in anyone’s books. Walleye management is a collaborative effort on Lake Erie. Five jurisdictions: Ontario, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan and New York, are the members of the Lake Erie Walleye Task Group and the Lake Erie Committee. Each of these jurisdictions conducts surveys in order to provide data on the health of the lake’s walleye fishery. As well, “Fisheries biologists started capturing Lake Erie walleye, surgically inserting acoustic telemetry tags and releasing them back into the lake,” says Chuck Murray, Lake Erie Biologist, Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission. “Each of these uniquely identifiable tags emits a signal that is picked up and recorded by a network of receivers placed on the bottom of Lake Erie. This state of the art technology is providing and validating information on walleye migration and spawning behaviour that was previously unknown or only hypothesized.” I have seen some of this information and it is amazing to see the migration path certain individual fish have travelled and their preferred spawning location. Weather, food and predation are all factors contributing to walleye success after the spawning process. The health of the overall lake and its water quality can all affect the walleye numbers. Overall these factors have been most favourable to walleye production. There are definitely some issues with algal blooms and nutrient loading, more significantly in serving Lake erie Boaters for over 60 years the western basin of Lake Erie, but for now neither seem to be impacting walleye production. There is no stocking of walleye in Lake Erie – it is all natural reproduction. This is a good thing as long as Mother Nature co-operates. It is very important to properly monitor walleye production and numbers, provide management leadership, as well as be cognizant of the fact of over-harvest. Let’s rely on the science collected and analysed by these collaborative lake members to provide us with a walleye fishery that is rivalled within the fishing world. 519-426-0653 487 Q ueensway st w. s imcoe

COUNSELLING

+ THER APY

Being a life counsellor, I have learned patience, love, caring, understanding and most of all the empathy and finesse of how to educate and help my clients utilising Emotional Intelligence. I encourage and enlighten them; it is not what you say in our conversations with others, or even within our own minds, but how you say it with respect, and a new sense of awareness! Glass half full, half empty, it's all in how you perceive things in life, positively, negatively, we all flip both ways from time to time. In today's society of gimme and now, with the hectic everyday life of work and families, we all burn out from time to time and need to remember to take a break, re-energise and refill that glass! Whether it's a long, relaxing weekend, a more positive attitude, or an overdue vacation, a cuddle with your special grandchild, partner, pet, whatever makes you happy, we all need to refill the glass, reboot the inner voice and get centred so that we can take the empty space and turn it into gold! Let’s stop the war within, picture your glass as your inner spirit, whatever you choose to fill it with, that’s how you are going to feel! If you fill your glass with hate and fear, pouring your worries about your past and future, you’re probably going to be miserable. If you fill your glass with love, positivity and nurturing energy, miracles can happen! Wars can end! People can be different, lives can become happier, workplaces more positive, teams more productive! We all can change, you just have to take the empty glass and fill it to the brim with positivity, love and a willingness to achieve! When you do, the real life you were meant to live begins! What’s your recipe for today? What are you going to fill your glass with? How are you going to turn your life into gold? When is participating in the inner war going to be enough for you? Be transparent, be open and real. Always embrace the truth, and lead with humility. Break old habits, reinvent new positive ones! Focus on enhancing people’s strengths, not fixing their weaknesses. It’s about a higher level of humanistic emotional understanding. It has to be honest and real and come from the heart with patience and love not only for others, but for yourself also! You can do it, you are the only one in control, you have the power, choice, option to practice self-control and you are placing your life personally and professionally into a new more positive, super effective zone to achieve each and every one of your goals and life aspirations!!! Try it a little at a time, pour a little water in daily, wounds heal and old ones are still there, but a positive frame of mind heals from within; you soon will be enjoying the excellent results of a beautiful life full of love and happiness!

The Arbor was started back in 1919 by Carl Ryerse and later his two sons, Vic and Vern, would continue to run the business until 1984 when the Schneider family took over the reins. The Arbor has become a landmark in the province. Folks travel from all corners every year for the famous Golden Glow and a footlong hot dog with a multitude of fixings. My grandmother worked at the Arbor in the early '30s, and I had a turn in the ’80s. If you have lived around Port Dover long enough, someone in your family most likely slung a few footlongs at the counter of the Arbor. The year I spent at the Arbor was the year Tony and Andrew Schneider took over. Vic and Vern were still stopping by to help the boys, and many of the older staff were still there working. It was a great learning experience! Everything and I mean everything, was done a certain way (because it worked). Everything was made from scratch... mustard, relish, Glow and fries. The Arbor was a finely tuned machine that the Ryerse brothers had perfected.

I caught up with Tony Schneider Jr and we chatted about his early days at the Arbor. Tony said, “The Glow recipe is the same as the one Vern Ryerse taught me. Nothing has changed, we still have fresh cut fries and the same quality of footlong hot dogs.” I asked Tony why the Arbor continues to be so successful? He responded, “Because we give the people what they want, while maintaining the tradition of top quality.” Over the years Tony and Andrew transitioned and updated the buildings to the current status. They refined their product, but maintained the high quality the Arbor is recognised for... plus they added the hugely popular footlong corn dog!! The Schneider family wanted to say thank you to all the folks over the years who have stopped by for a Glow and a dog, as well as their incredible staff, past and present, who are part of the Arbor family! THE FINISH LINE.

One of the great things about running is all the people you meet on your journey. It takes a certain kind of person to get out there almost every day, in any type of weather, to put in the time, to achieve that excellent feeling both physically and mentally. I wanted to take this opportunity to thank Scot Brockbank, who all those years ago got me back into running. I am somewhat of a lone wolf runner these days, taking to the trails and drifting off into the woods whenever I can, but it all began back at North Shore. Over the years the many friends I have found because of the club have made me a better person. These folks have such diverse personalities and are always entertaining, even on the most boring road run. They can bring a smile to the most downtrodden face! The collage of running styles and speed meant there was always something for everyone. You could move as slow as you wanted or run with the big dogs up front, it was your choice… all you had to do was smile and enjoy the run! The wonderful part about these folks is that I can walk into the Urban for a coffee and pick up the conversation like I never left. For a lot of the group, we are a large, local, extended running/walking family, who look out for one another, take pride in helping in the community and will occasionally still celebrate together (I said we were runners, not saints!). The larger running group has changed over the years, but the message of getting out and being active remains the same. Scot has also been the catalyst for smaller groups like swimming and cycling that have formed as well. I guess for most of us, we went out for a run and came back with lifelong friends… all because of a little running group! Thanks Scot! Dave Scot t

'WINTER FANTASY' by: Vic Gibbons

Winter Fantasy

The man of great works.

Old broken-down barns are a common theme in many of Vic’s paintings. I questioned Vic about his draw to these weathered buildings. He explained there was just something about the unique character of the long ago forgotten, humble shelters that he enjoyed painting. I think Vic enjoys bringing them back to life, displaying their colours and showing the toll time has taken on them. You can almost hear the creak and moan of the wood as the wind passes through. As for Winter Fantasy, this original is not for sale, but when Vic came across it, he felt he wanted to share it with us this one time! Vic explained that for the deer in the photo, the tricky part is getting the antlers just perfect! Thanks Vic for sharing a true Gibbons classic with us! Dave Scot t

TAKE AWAY POINTS

(from February's article 'Detox, Cleanse or Lifestyle Change?')

► Committing to cleaning up/modifying lifestyle and dietary habits for 2-3 weeks, increasing hydration and introducing a good quality probiotic prior to incorporating other products are some key points to a gradual and sensible way to begin your cleanse or detox to avoid overload. ► Done properly and with the correct guidance and knowledge, detox/cleanses can take a huge burden off our bodies and be game changers for our overall health and vitality. ► Extreme temperature seasons are an extra burden and stressor for our bodies. This can make it an inopportune time for the vast majority of people to undertake this particular adventure. ► Learning how to care for your body daily, as a more permanent lifestyle adjustment is the very best strategy – by not overburdening your body in the first place you are supporting wellness and will accumulate less toxicity and enjoy a more robust system. Nutrient dense, whole food, organic and local foods where possible, proper hydration, sleep, exercise, stress management, social, mental and spiritual support are some of the critical elements of health.

► Certain individuals should never undertake a cleanse or detox without express medical consent and supervision: pregnant and nursing women, children, the elderly, those in poor general health, with autoimmune conditions or undergoing surgery, individuals on prescription meds (medication absorption and effectiveness can be drastically altered) *this is not a complete list ► Learn more about what you are putting into (and onto) your body. Aim for foods and beverages that support and sustain health and consider your food before consuming. Ask yourself, “What is the food doing for me?” (I know – sometimes it’s just delicious, I get it, we are all human!) ► Use moderation, balance and appreciation as often as you can - each of us has the power and ability to enact positive changes on our miraculous bodies and this gift of life. Make healthy a lifestyle - you’ll be glad you did! For more information, see me at Dover Apothecary Thursdays or Fridays or arrange a consult Monday through Wednesday in Simcoe. want to bring a couple other things with you. I recommend that once you pack up your CPAP for traveling if you are crossing the border, you bring a copy of your prescription as well a copy of your invoice to prove where you purchased it.

TRAVELLING WITH YOUR CPAP If you are planning on going somewhere and will be travelling by car, taking your CPAP with you doesn’t require too much preparation. If you are travelling within Canada, you will want to pack your CPAP in its carry bag and possibly bring a spare bottle of distilled water with you. You can often purchase distilled water when you get to your destination if you do not wish to bring it with you. If you are travelling by car but crossing the border, you may

When travelling by plane with your CPAP, you want to make sure you pack up your CPAP and mask in its carry case and take it as carry-on baggage. Medical equipment is usually allowed as an extra carry on by most airlines, but it is also a good idea to phone ahead and confirm with the airline. When flying, I always recommend that you take a copy of your prescription and invoice with you, this just shows the equipment is required medical equipment and that it is in fact yours. Remember, if you do not take your CPAP as a carry-on and you do put it in checked baggage, if it is damaged it will likely not be covered under the manufacturer’s warranties.

SITTING, WAITING, WISHING. As Canadians, we love bearing the elements and suiting up for outdoor winter activities, one of the most popular around this time being ice fishing. Ice fishing is a fun pastime that appeals to families and individuals alike and is a great way to get out of the house and onto the water during the cold months. As enjoyable as this past time is, proper techniques and postures should be used in order to avoid lasting discomfort from long periods of sitting or exertion. Ice fishing can be both relaxing and exhilarating once everything is set up. However, many injuries can occur before the minnow touches the water. Taking smaller strides while pulling a sled or simply walking out to the fishing hole will decrease the chance of slipping on the ice, with items like traction spikes also being helpful. When an auger is used, a repetitive motion with force is needed to drill holes in the ice, with back strains being common during this process. Keeping the spine in a neutral position avoiding unnecessary flexion and the torso upright can help decrease stress on the lumbar spine as well as having the auger close to the body with knees bent and feet wide for stability. Another factor relating ice fishing to back pain is the prolonged static position commonly used for this activity. Getting up to stretch every hour can relieve the onset of muscle soreness as static sitting causes muscles to become tight and spastic. Sitting up straight whether in a hut or on the ice and supporting the lumbar spine is ideal for avoiding pain with accessories like rod holders that decrease the likeliness of slumping the shoulders and dropping the neck. Using appropriate postures and techniques while performing any activity for a long period of time is crucial in reducing exertional or static strain. Getting hooked on ice fishing can be very rewarding when the activity doesn’t leave you squirming like the catch of the day, but if it does, Great Lakes Physiotherapy can offer treatment to get you upright in no time.

In rare cases, neck pain can be a sign of something serious. Seek immediate attention if your neck pain is accompanied by severe headache, shooting pain in your shoulder or arm, numbness or loss of strength in your arms or hands, trouble speaking, swallowing or walking, blurred vision or loss of balance.

PREVENTION TIPS • Warm up before and stretch out after physical activities such as sports, gardening or other household projects. • Stretch after an hour of television viewing or sitting at the computer. • Work on your posture both standing and seated to keep your spine properly aligned. • Make sure your work station is ergonomic with good low back support. • Drink water to keep the disks of your spine hydrated.

SOME THINGS TO AVOID • Cradling a phone on your shoulder • Falling asleep on the arm of the sofa • Thin pillows that provide no neck support Taking a few preventative measures will help reduce your chances of neck pain and keep you discomfort free.

BOUNCEBACK® ONTARIO BounceBack® Ontario is a free program available to help manage mild to moderate depression and anxiety. BounceBack: Reclaim Your Health is a free, skill-building program designed to help adults and youth aged 15+ manage symptoms of depression and anxiety. Available by referral from a primary care provider (family doctor, nurse practitioner) or client self-referral, the program helps participants learn skills to help them deal with problems such as inactivity, unhelpful thinking, worry, and avoidance. BounceBack has been proven to reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety and enhance overall well-being and quality of life. The list goes on and on of the types of situations people find themselves in that can lead to feelings of low mood, worry, and stress. But, with the right type of mental health supports – if received in a timely fashion – people can learn skills to help them better manage symptoms of anxiety and depression. The program offers two types of support: 1. One-to-one telephone coaching and workbooks that participants can do from the comfort of their home. 2. A series of online videos that offer practical tips on managing mood, sleeping better, building confidence, and more. The program has proven effective in helping participants reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety and improve overall health and quality of life. To participate in telephone coaching, a referral is required. This can be done by a primary care provider (family doctor, nurse practitioner, or psychiatrist), who knows the participant’s health care needs best and can match their needs with the right support. In addition, participants can also self-refer, but must provide the contact information of their primary care provider so that they can be informed of their client’s participation and progress in the program, as well as any risk issues that may arise during any of the telephone coaching sessions. Once a referral is submitted, participants are contacted within five business days to schedule a telephone appointment. The BounceBack program usually involves three to six telephone sessions with a coach. The first session lasts about 45 minutes, where the coach does a risk assessment, reviews the program objectives with the participant, and helps the participant select the workbooks that are most relevant to their current needs. Subsequent telephone sessions last 15-20 minutes. During these sessions, the coach will provide motivation, and support the participant in working through the workbooks at their own pace. Coaches are extensively trained in the BounceBack program and are overseen by clinical psychologists. What the coaches are not – are counsellors. That is why it’s important that primary care providers maintain primary clinical responsibility for their clients’ overall well-being during their time in the program. BounceBack telephone coaching is currently available to participants in 17 languages. Participants can also watch a series of BounceBack Today online videos at any time at: bouncebackvideo.ca. No referral is necessary. All that’s needed is their email address and the following access code: bbtodayon. The videos are available in English, French, Mandarin, Cantonese, Punjabi, Arabic, and Farsi. To print a referral form and to get started with the BounceBack program, visit: bouncebackontario.ca

► In addition to our hands on therapy that we do, we always send a patient home with an individualized exercise program that is tailored to their specific injury An example of an exercise program for plantar fasciitis would be:

PLANTAR FASCIITIS Many of my running friends have had to deal with plantar fasciitis at some point over the years. According to the Mayo Clinic, plantar fasciitis (PLAN-tur fas-e-I-tis) is one of the most common causes of heel pain. It involves inflammation of a thick band of tissue that runs across the bottom of your foot and connects your heel bone to your toes (plantar fascia). Plantar fasciitis commonly causes stabbing pain that usually occurs with your first steps in the morning. As you get up and move more, the pain normally decreases, but it might return after long periods of standing or after rising from sitting. I decided to ask Paige and Krista how they would treat plantar fasciitis. Here is what they had to say: After confirming the patient has plantar fasciitis through an orthopedic assessment, we would begin by addressing the soft tissue. By soft tissue we mean the muscles in the lower leg that, when tight, can affect the plantar fascia. ► Soft tissue release into the gastrocnemius and soleus muscles (the 2 major muscles in the calf) ► Addressing the Achilles tendon

1) Stretches:

Gastrocnemius and Soleus (lower leg muscles), gently pulling back your toes to increase the stretch of the plantar fascia

2) Strength:

Calf raises, specific ankle strengthening with an exercise band, single leg balancing (all of the strengthening exercises may have to be initiated a bit later in treatment depending on the severity of your pain)

3) Athletic Taping: We use athletic tape to help support the arch in your foot that in turn will take the stress off the inflamed fascia, and give it time to heal Krista Dunstall RMT, BAHSc. CAT(C)

► An interosseus membrane release which in layman's terms is a ligamentous membrane that connects the tibia and fibula (the two lower leg bones), and when this membrane is tight it can also affect the tension throughout the lower leg muscles and the plantar fascia ► Deep muscle stripping into the plantar fascia to help decrease the tension or adhesions that have formed in the fascia causing the pain you are experiencing

The term ‘probiotic’ means supporting life. Probiotics are friendly, beneficial bacteria. These bacteria are normal inhabitants of the large and small intestines and are an important part of a healthy digestive system. Recent research shows that probiotics help improve gastrointestinal function, respiratory and allergy response, as well as help to counter the negative effects of antibiotic use. Further, these beneficial bacteria help the body to produce vitamins, absorb nutrients, and control overgrowth of bad bacteria and fungus.
