Dear Community Member,

We take great pride in serving the students, families, and community members of the Nordonia Hills City School District. We are grateful for your commitment to our community, our schools, and the success of our students. Nordonia Hills City Schools is a reflection of the strength, dedication, and values of our community. Through connections with our stakeholders, we are better prepared to foster academic excellence and provide opportunities for every student to thrive.

This strategic plan serves as a roadmap for our future, guiding thoughtful decisions to ensure long-term success.

1 Stability

Provide a clear and sustainable financial plan that supports the success of the Nordonia Hills City School District. By working together, using resources wisely, and planning ahead, we will build a strong foundation for the future.

The District Will:

Ensure Financial Stability – Develop a clear, sustainable financial plan to support the long-term success of Nordonia Hills City Schools while maintaining fiscal responsibility.

Promote Transparency & Community Engagement – Keep stakeholders informed through online financial education, updates in the Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR), and quarterly Financial Activities Communication Team meetings. Plan for Growth & Improvement – Track enrollment trends, align budgets with capital and maintenance needs, and regularly communicate the five-year financial forecast to the community.

Success Indicators

Enhanced Stakeholder Engagement – Increase attendance and participation in Financial Activities Communication Team meetings and online education initiatives.

Transparent Financial Reporting – Complete and distribute the Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR) annually.

Data-Driven Planning – Use a comprehensive enrollment trend document to guide budget and staffing decisions.

Strategic Resource Allocation – Align capital budgets with maintenance priorities to efficiently address facility needs.

Provide trust by communicating openly, celebrating successes, and forming strong partnerships with the community based on shared goals and values.

The District Will:

Enhance Transparency – Establish a communication committee to improve digital platforms, develop clear messaging, and keep stakeholders informed.

Build Community Partnerships – Host forums, engage with local organizations and businesses, and expand volunteer opportunities.

Celebrate Achievements – Highlight student, staff, and district successes through newsletters, social media, and local media.

Expand Outreach – Use a mix of traditional and modern communication tools, including surveys, printed materials, and events, to ensure accessibility for all.

Success Indicators

Improve Digital Communication – A communication committee enhances digital platforms and ensures timely updates on district initiatives.

Expand Community Engagement – Partnerships, biannual forums, and a volunteer program engage 100 participants annually.

Celebrate Success – Achievements are highlighted monthly through newsletters, social media, and quarterly media features.

Connect with Stakeholders – Annual surveys, quarterly newsletters, and in-person events ensure effective communication.

Provide safe and engaging learning spaces that meet the challenges of enrollment, funding, and aging buildings. Our goal is to create an environment where students thrive.

The District Will:

Prioritize Facility Repairs – Assess and address essential repairs to maintain safe, high-quality learning environments.

Optimize Facility Use – Develop a strategic plan to maximize resources and support students and staff effectively.

Secure Funding for Improvements – Pursue grants and incentives for energy efficiency and safety enhancements.

Strengthen Community Engagement – Host bi-annual town halls and surveys to ensure transparency and gather stakeholder feedback.

Success Indicators

Maintain Safe & Functional Buildings – Implement a plan to prioritize critical repairs and ensure timely maintenance.

Maximize Facility Use – Develop a strategy for efficient resource management across the district.

Secure Funding for Enhancements – Obtain grants and achieve budget savings to improve security and energy efficiency.

Engage Stakeholders – Increase attendance and participation in bi-annual town hall meetings.

Provide opportunities for students to become critical thinkers, creative problem-solvers, and lifelong learners. Through innovative and effective teaching methods, we equip educators to prepare students for success in an ever-evolving world.

The District Will:

Streamline Communication – Improve and standardize updated forms to enhance collaboration between PLCs.

Refine Curriculum Maps – Incorporate enhanced assessments and teaching strategies for a more effective learning approach.

Strengthen Student Support – Improve Tier II interventions and instruction to better meet student needs and promote growth.

Success Indicators

Streamlined Communication – Redesigned, consistent forms improve clarity and efficiency across all channels.

Enhanced Curriculum Alignment – Updated maps incorporate improved assessments and teaching strategies.

Stronger Student Support – Improved intervention processes ensure effective response to student needs.

This past year, Nordonia Hills CitySchools united with stakeholders to collaborate

and grow.

Through a collaborative process, the district engaged parents, students, staff, elected officials, and advisory groups to develop the 2024-2029 Strategic Plan: Stronger Together. After a comprehensive review of community feedback, the Nordonia Hills Board of Education endorsed the plan, recognizing it as a reflection of the community’s vision for its schools. This plan provides a clear roadmap for decision-making, accountability, and innovation while allowing flexibility during times of change. It aligns priorities, drives student success, and ensures long-term progress. Built for everyone, the plan unites efforts across the district. Our goal is for every member of the Nordonia community to understand their role and contribute to its success. Together, we will inspire every student to embrace learning, community, and excellence.
