The products in this Thermal Comfort level are 2 layered, wich offer an extra air layer between the fabrics that increase warmth retention.

Thermal comfort is a state of mind based on the satisfaction towards the thermal environment and it’s assessed subjective evaluation.

Thermal insulation is the reduction of heat transfer between the body and the fabrics.

The main factors that influence thermal comfort are those that determine heat gain and loss during physical activity, clothing moisture management capacity, air temperature and percentage of humidity.

Wind protection is the fabric’s ability to prevent the air from penetrating it.

All the BUFF® spring-summer products have been tested and classified taking into account the following concepts:

Moisture Managment is the fabric’s capacity to transport moisture away from the skin towards the fabric’s outer surface. DRY CAPACITY refers to the fabric’s capacity to dry the moisture absorded by the product.

heat retention, a high degree or complete wind protection for extremely cold or windy conditions. Cold Thermal Comfort level applies to Autumn-Winter collection products.

COOL -10º / 10º Fabrics with high degree

of heat retention that primarily insulate the body against heat loss when weather conditions are cool.

WARM 0º / 20º Fabrics that provide year-

round weather protection for low-intensity activities or when practicing high-intensity activities in cool temperatures.

HOT 10º / 30º Fabrics that provide a high level of moisture management and drying capacity, crucial in hot weather and when practicing high-intensity sports.

QUALITY CERTIFICATIONS

100% MERINO WOOL Natural and sustainable fabric made with fine and soft non-itchy wool. It is breathable, draws sweat away from the skin and has excellent thermo regulation properties.

ODOR RESISTANT Most of BUFF® products are odor resistant due to antibacterial solutions applied to the fabrics. These applications are Polygiene® or Silver Plus®. Products made of merino wool have natural antibacterial odor control properties and do not need any application to be odor resistant.

FASTWICK EXTRA PLUS A knitted fabric made of knitted polyester forming a special honeycomb construction with highly breathable properties. The textile dries quickly and keeps comfort under a high intensity activity.
