His love for motorsports led him to imagine the original BUFF® multifunctional headwear. At his family's knitting factory in Igualada (Barcelona), he produced the first samples of the seamless, tubular accessory. He proudly wore his innovative design on his rides through the surrounding mountains. Soon everyone was asking where they could get BUFF® headgear of their own. Within three years, BUFF® headgear was on sale in Germany, France, Switzerland and other parts of Europe. Since then, BUFF® has continued to innovate. Today, we develop high-tech gear for extreme sports—and high-fashion accessories for a new generation of non-conformists. More than 90% of our production still takes place in that now-legendary factory in Igualada, where we can ensure the high-quality and attention to detail that our customers have come to expect. Thermal comfort is a state of mind based on the satisfaction towards the thermal environment and it’s assessed subjective evaluation.

The result is the Thermal Comfort scale created with four different levels and a temperature range to make this scale understandable. The temperatures assigned to the levels are overlaped between them to increase the product options to the consumer.

WIND PROTECTION is the fabric’s ability to prevent the air from penetrating it.

The main factors that influence thermal comfort are those that determine heat gain and loss during physical activity, clothing moisture management capacity, air temperature and percentage of humidity.

MOISTURE MANAGMENT is the fabric’s capacity to transport moisture away from the skin towards the fabric’s outer surface.

Laser cutting is a contact-less and tool-free process for fabric cutting. There is no contact and consequently no warping of textiles and fabrics during laser cutting. The laser beam melts the material and the results are clean, perfectly sealed edges.

Bonding is the process of joining pieces of fabrics using heat and pressure.

Ultrasonic is an industrial technique whereby high-frequency ultrasonic acoustic vibrations are locally applied to fabrics being held together under pressure to create a solid-state weld.
