Each PNL is seeded by user-submitted climate observations that are procedurally generated into abstract art by our algorithms.

Every piece of the 365 NFTs represent an individual’s unique connection with our climate at a specific moment, saved in abstract - & in perpetuity.

Mint cost is 1 SOL. Released in Feb 2022.

Origins The name is based on the Planetary Boundary Layer - the part of the atmosphere that interacts with the surface of the planet.

The idea is inspired by generative NFT art collections like Fidenza by Tyler Hobbs and Chromie Squiggle on ArtBlocks.

We take it a step further by involving the user in the creative process and using mother nature as the generative algorithm.

In essence, this collection stored on the blockchain, will forever show the connection between today’s climate and those who lived in it.

This collection is a finished artefact on release.

User co-creation is an unexplored avenue for Art NFTs. By asking users to seed the art with their observations, we are offering added value upfront and a reason to think twice before selling it.

Minters are a part of the creative process & will have more sentimental attachment. Those living in unique weather conditions will generate more unique results.

This is Art, not fundraising. You don’t need to trust us to deliver a roadmap after the mint.

Environmental Impact We calculate our energy usage to be about 0.002551389 kWh per NFT. We are using Solana as it is currently, a more sustainable blockchain due to Proof-of-Stake.

Buying one Solana NFT uses approximately the energy needed for 2 Google searches.

Meteorological readings come from the network of devices located in your area. Unless you live where a device is installed, exact accuracy is not feasible. We still recommend you use a burner wallet.

After the observation window closes, production of the art will take 1-3 days.
