a new kind of stay

When Sunseeker Resorts opened in late 2023, the entire community could sense a seachange in the making.

“That one property added 30 or 40 percent to the hotel room count for the entire county here, which is a big impact,” said local Captain Ralph Allen, of King Fisher Fleet. “They hired around 1,200 people to work here, so that’s 1,200 jobs that people have that didn’t exist.”

The massive 785-room resort was more than just a new property, it represented a new way of doing things in Port Charlotte. There are views from private floor-to-ceiling windows, rooms with personal device pairing and digital streaming. For those looking for a little more comfort, the signature Sunsuites experience, including an airport pick-up in a private Lincoln Navigator, private check-in and lounge with personalized concierge services.

“We have a full kitchen, washer and dryer.

Sunseeker Resort is Putting Port Charlotte on the Map

We also have Shore Provisions, where guests are able to fill their pantry and kitchen from our resort market,” said Paige-Louise Arias, the Front Office & VIP Services Manager at the resort.

The amenities in the rooms alone were something that the quaint harborside town had never seen, at least at this scale.

“We knew that if

“We knew that if we were going to put Port Charlotte and Charlotte Harbor on the map, we needed to make sure we could execute.” said President of Sunseeker Resort, Micah Richins. “There is a lot of work that’s done, actually, before you even arrive to understand who you are, what you’re interested in, what your objectives are… how to make your stay more meaningful.”

And it all starts with the staff.

“The process of hiring the team here was one that we took to heart at the onset,” said Executive Director of Food and Beverage, Carlos Cepero. “Look at Jose Cuarta at Maury’s, who truly understands what it is to find the proper ranch, with the proper breeding style of the cattle, and bring that local meat here.”

If Cepero and Sunseeker feel lucky to have Cuarta, they can rest assured that the feeling is mutual.

“I get some of the best products here. I’m very lucky,” said Jose Cuarta. “Rib-eye steaks, filets, tomahawks, it’s the best. I get to order great meat and use great products, and make people happy!”

we were going to put Port Charlotte and Charlotte Harbor on the map we needed to make sure we could execute.”
Micah Richins, President Sunseeker Resort

Indeed, the menu at Maury’s Steak, Seafood and Spirits is full of delicious cuts, delectable creations and plenty of potent potables sure to please both patron and chef alike.

The team at Sunseeker understand that the fastest way to someone’s heart is through their stomach, a strategy Jason Shkorupa, Senior Vice President of Sunseeker Resort, had from the get go.

“You put best-in-class cuisines within a central space of 25,000 square feet and allow your guests to visit and dine in a casual atmosphere. It’s very visual, you see that it’s fresh to order.”

Nowhere else is that more on display than in the resort’s crown jewel.

“The food hall is kind of our showpiece for the hotel. It’s a little bit of everything. Eleven different options. Pretty much anything you can think of you can have while you’re staying here.” said Kory Foltz, Executive Chef for the resort.

And at the heart of the hall is award winning pastry chef, Patricia Nash’s newest creative outlet, Sweet Shine Patisserie & Dessert Bar.

“I’ve never been in a property that housed a pastry shop, dead center at the spine of the property.” said Cepero.

Chef Nash was equally stunned. “Most of the time, pastry is in the basement, and you’re not really the priority. Well here, we’re right in the middle! So it’s beautiful for the restaurants! When they need stuff they come to us, they pick up their product. Centrally located… it’s refreshing!”

The move to center the patisserie showcases the made-in-house freshness that Shkorupa and Cepero sought.

“We put it at the forefront from a culinary experience to really tell the guests we bake everything in-house,” said Cepero, “and you’re watching it in real time.”

This celebration of the craft means chefs can follow their inspiration, giving guests delicious dishes that might only be available for their stay. It creates the sort of memorable experience the resort hopes to be known for.

“We can come in here and be creative and change it up the next day.” said Nash. “It’s not the same-old, same-old.”

“The food hall is kind of showpiece for the hotel. It’s a little bit of everything. Eleven different options. Pretty much anything you can think of you can have while you are staying here.”

“Our mission for the golf experience was to really develop a one of a kind experience unlike any other.”

Aaron Merrit, GM Aileron Golf Club

“You can stay here at Sunseeker and eat at the food hall for seven days, and you can eat breakfast, lunch and dinner there, and you wouldn’t even get through a third of the menu in your seven day stay.” said Shkorupa.

With every cuisine under the sun, from Italian and Asian inspired cuisine to Baja-Mexican favorites, guests will have no trouble filling up for an exciting stay

in Charlotte Harbor, where even more activities await.

From the private golf course to the fitness center and pools, “the amount of things that you can do really are endless, and they are all right within your reach,” said Micah Richins.

“Our mission for the golf experience was to really develop a one of a kind experience unlike any other.” said Aaron Merrit, the general manager at Aileron Golf Club. “What could we do that was a little different?”

What they devised was a way to enjoy the 155-acre, 18-hole championship-level golf course, designed by renowned architect Kipp Schulties, at a pace not available at many top of the line courses.

“One of those things was expanded tee times, where everyone can have a relaxing opportunity, take their time.”

“It’s really just a feather in our cap, for Southwest Florida to have a renowned exclusive golf course experience,” said Annette Bales, Executive Director of Sales,

Services and Experience. “It’s something that doesn’t really exist in this area.”

And for those who want to stay active without lugging around any clubs?

“Our fitness center is amazing,” said Jack Crumley, Director of Spa, Pool & Fitness.

“It’s 7,100 feet, it’s got over 90 pieces of Technogym equipment. The view is amazing, every piece of cardio faces the harbor, and you’ll also catch the sunset from the fitness center.”

Private classes are offered to resort guests every day. “We have group fitness classes from pilates to yoga; we have spin classes; we have HIIT classes, so hotel guests are able to join these classes at no cost,” said Crumley.

The resort is also home to the largest rooftop pool in Florida, Level Blue. The exclusive, 18+ adults-only rooftop bar serves exciting signature cocktails and lighter fare poolside, from a perch that presents breathtaking birds-eye harbor views.

The family friendly option, Reflections Pool & Bar, also offers comfortable seating and private cabanas, where guests can relax, unwind and escape into luxury.

Of course, the resort is also close to many adventures and excursions, some even the employees can’t help but celebrate.

For Annette Bales, King Fisher Fleet might be an easy pick for a favorite pastime.

“The sunsets here in Southwest Florida are truly the best in the state,” said Bales. “We were taking clients on sunset cruises while we were still in hard-hat tours.”

Captain Ralph Allen, the man behind those cruises, takes his reviews to heart.

“We would love for people to come off our boats and say to us, ‘That was so cool,

It’s a sentiment shared by Jason Shkorupa at Sunseeker Resort.

“I think the biggest thing that’s important to us is that people leave and say ‘It’s different here.’” said Shkorupa. “‘There is a sense of hospitality.’ So that, to us, is important.” sunseekerresorts.com

CONSTANTLY ENTERTAINING

While the Entertainment Capital of the World has changed drastically since Penn & Teller first started performing in Las Vegas in 1993, the legendary magicians have remained one of the city’s few signature acts.

“We love working here, and it’s our hometown,” Penn Jillette told nonstoplife “We’ve seen it change so much over the nearly 32 years we’ve been performing. We came in at the tail end of the Sinatra era — Teller used his dressing room at Bally’s and I used Dean Martin’s. We saw the family thing and the beginning of Cirque coming to town, and now all of the big residencies and sports stuff. We’ve been happy to be a part of all of that and still be performing here.”

Currently contracted at Rio Hotel & Casino — their home for the past 23 years — through 2026, Penn & Teller continue to be one of Las Vegas’ biggest draws for one very good reason: while they may be a constant in a city of change, their show is constantly changing. Since moving to the Rio in 2001, the magicians have used their theater as a “laboratory for developing new material.” Jillette acknowledged that the space has really helped their creative process, which for the past 11 seasons of their hit TV series, “Penn & Teller: Fool Us,” has included developing 21 new tricks every year. Not only are those tricks workshopped in front of an audience during Penn & Teller’s Las Vegas show months before each season of “Penn & Teller: Fool Us” is taped, but they often become

a part of the duo’s extensive catalog of tricks that are rotated in and out of the production.

While audiences never know which new or classic tricks Penn & Teller will perform each night, there are a couple of tricks Penn & Teller often showcase. One is their grand finale, where they make an African spotted pygmy elephant vanish onstage, and the other is a breathtaking sleight-of-hand trick involving Teller, a couple of fishbowls and some coins.

Did You Know… Penn Jillette plays the bass? Guests can hear him and pianist Mike Jones playing live jazz music before each show as ticket holders enter the Penn & Teller Theater.

“It’s a really beautiful trick that our audiences seem to love,” Jillette stated. “When you went to see Sinatra at Caesars Palace, you expected to hear ‘My Way.’ It’s the same with that trick — it’s a greatest hit.”

Audience members can also expect to be a part of the production in some way, whether they are asked to join Penn & Teller onstage to assist with a trick or they’re asked to do something before the show even begins that will be featured in the production later on.

A COMEDY ROCK STAR

Carrot Top’s Las Vegas show never misses a beat

Carrot Top may joke that every comedian wants to be a rock star, but anyone who has seen the comic’s long-running residency at Luxor Hotel and Casino knows that the best way to describe the show is to call it a comedic concert.

“As much as I adore George Carlin and Garry Shandling, I had to have my take on what I thought would be fun,” Carrot Top, whose real name is Scott Thompson, told nonstoplife “So, I came up with this multimedia kind of way to get a joke across, whether it’s through a microphone, a song, a video or a prop. It just was my unique approach to doing comedy.”

Although often associated with prop comedy, Thompson’s act has evolved over the years to include more stand-up comedy, storytelling and video clips. He admits that his show is a constant “work in progress,” as there’s nothing more fun to Thompson than change. His brain is always thinking of ways to make his show better, from improving existing jokes to working on new material. Thompson’s new finale — a tribute to his comedy idol, Gallagher — actually took him four years to get just right.

One thing that’s never changed during the fast-paced show, though, is the Freddie Mercury-like energy that Thompson brings to the stage each night. Audiences are guaranteed to leave the rockin’ production feeling better than they arrived, as not only are the laughs nonstop, but also the

gratitude Thompson has for his fans is undeniable.

“Everybody is guilty of not really understanding how good they got it,” the humble performer said. “Then you see something that makes you think, ‘I’m pretty good.’ I get to make people laugh, and there’s nothing like a smile or a laugh — they’re infectious. They just give people so much energy.” carrottop.com

THE BEAT GOES ON

Las Vegas music headliners audiences won’t want to miss

The temperature outside may slowly be cooling off, but the entertainment scene in Las Vegas is as hot as ever with several can’t-miss concert residencies and extended music engagements playing both on and off the Strip.

One of the Entertainment Capital of the World’s newest acts is scheduled to return to the Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort on Sept. 1, Nov. 8 and 9. Performing a selection of his award-winning hits as well as songs he has written and produced for other artists, like Madonna, Eric Clapton and Whitney Houston, R&B superstar Babyface (“When Can I See You”) puts on an unforgettable show that’s easily one of the best multi-night music engagements Las Vegas has ever hosted. Audiences will enjoy an evening full of hits, stories and maybe even a surprise or two, as during Babyface’s opening weekend in May, he was joined onstage by Johnny Gill (“My, My My”) one night and Karyn White (“Superwoman”) the other night. palms.com

The result is one of the Strip’s most enjoyable — and personable — concert residencies. wynnlasvegas.com

More fun can be found off-Strip at Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino when legendary funk band Kool & the Gang resumes their

energetic residency inside the International Theater on Oct. 4 and 5. Since it’s almost impossible to stay seated when the group plays such timeless hits as “Jungle Boogie” and “Celebration,” there’s actually a reserved section in the theater where ticket holders are welcome to leave their seats and dance. The International Theater will also welcome back “Barry Manilow: The Hits Come Home!” select Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, Sept. 12 through Nov. 16. Always a great time, the long-running residency is a celebration of the soft rock singer-songwriter’s storied career, featuring both his hit singles like “Mandy” and “Copacabana (At the Copa)” as well as Manilow’s popular commercial jingles. westgatelasvegas.com

Pop-rock band Maroon 5’s residency at Park MGM is another blast from start to finish. Returning to Dolby Live select nights Sept. 27 through Oct. 12, “M5LV The Residency” showcases the group’s greatest hits over the past two decades — everything from “Harder to Breathe” to “Memories.” Once Maroon 5 leaves the stage, Dolby Live will welcome rock star Lenny Kravitz for his highly anticipated limited Las Vegas engagement, “Blue Electric Light Las Vegas.” Performing Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, Oct. 18 through 26, the show will feature songs from the “Are You Gonna Go My Way” singer’s recently released album, Blue Electric Light. parkmgm.com/en/ entertainment/dolby-live.html

Country music fans will want to head on over to PH Live inside Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, too, to see Shania Twain’s third Las Vegas residency, “COME ON OVER — The Las Vegas Residency — All the Hits!” Returning select nights Sept. 1 through 7, and Nov. 29 through 30, the high-energy production features the top-selling female country artist of all time performing her beloved hits, including “That Don’t Impress Me Much,” “You’re Still the One” and “Man! I Feel Like a Woman!” ticketmaster.com/shaniavegas

Additionally, legendary country singer Garth Brooks (“The Dance”) continues his “Garth Brooks/Plus ONE” residency inside The Colosseum at Caesars Palace Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 26 through Oct.13. SOUTHERN FUN ON THE STRIP

Two-step on over to Ole Red Las Vegas

Already a favorite in Tennessee, Florida and Oklahoma, country music superstar Blake Shelton’s bar, restaurant and live music venue Ole Red opened its sixth and largest location to date this past January at the Grand Bazaar Shops in front of Horseshoe Las Vegas.

Boasting jaw-dropping views of the Fountains of Bellagio from its third-floor balcony and 4,500-square-foot rooftop, Ole Red Las Vegas serves up 27,000 square feet of honky-tonk fun. Guests can savor some scrumptious Southern cuisine while listening to free live music throughout the day from a lineup of talented country artists.

“Country music fans finally have a place to celebrate in Las Vegas at Ole Red,” Shelton told nonstoplife. “It’s right on the Strip, and there’s a massive indoor stage and a rooftop stage, so whether you like your country music inside or outdoors, we’ve got you covered!”

Diners can order such tasty dishes for lunch or dinner as the Honey Bee Hot Chicken

Waffles topped with onion straws and bourbon maple syrup, and pair their entrée with a drink from the bar, like the Happy Anywhere specialty cocktail made with vodka, coconut rum, strawberry puree, lime juice, simple syrup and Starry soda. Several shareable dishes are available, too, like the Turnin’ Me On Loaded Tots: brisket burnt ends, fried cheese curds, white gravy, hot sauce and green onions served over hashbrown-like Tater Tots. As diners enjoy their meal, they are welcome to work off any excess calories by getting up and dancing along to the music.

Ole Red Las Vegas is open Sunday through Wednesday from 11 a.m. until 2 a.m. and Thursday through Saturday from 11 a.m. until 4 a.m.; kitchen hours vary. While all ages are welcome during the day, after 10 p.m. the venue is strictly for country music fans ages 21 and older. olered.com/lasvegas

“Absinthe’s” raunchy host, The Gazillionaire, knows how to make audiences laugh until their sides hurt

‘ABSINTHE’ CONTINUES TO ASTOUND

Hit Spiegelworld show is still one of Las Vegas’ hottest tickets

Having celebrated its 13th anniversary under the big top in front of Caesars Palace in April, “Absinthe” continues to be one of Las Vegas’ most popular productions for a reason: it’s always offering audiences something different to enjoy.

With 25 rotating acts, the adults-only acrobatic variety show keeps audiences in suspense over which jaw-dropping act will take the stage next. While some acts, like Maxim Popazov’s chair stacking and hand balancing act, have been featured in the Spiegelworld production since 2011, “Absinthe” regularly introduces new performers as well. In fact, the show debuted its most dangerous act ever last year: the seven-man Mega Banquine act. Featuring Ukrainian and Russian artists who form human towers to propel each other over the heads of the audience without any safety harnesses, the act truly puts ticket holders in the midst of the action.

While “Absinthe” has been known for showcasing some of the world’s best acrobats for more than a decade, last year the production also became known for serving some of the Strip’s best burgers. Its burger joint, No Pants, cooks up succulent burgers made from either two short rib blended patties or a plant-based patty topped with grilled onions, American or vegan cheese, dill pickles, mustard and a secret sauce. Guests can enjoy the burgers outside in “Absinthe’s” Green Fairy Garden — which is also home to a coffee stand, two bars and a nautical-themed speakeasy — or

A SURE BET FOR A GREAT TIME

Long considered a local favorite, Silverton Casino Lodge won’t be one of Las Vegas’ best-kept secrets much longer thanks to its recent renovation.

Offering guests a luxurious boutique hotel experience just minutes from the Strip, the rustic resort finished a $40 million renovation last October that not only included new carpeting in its casino and upgrades to its video poker and slot machines, but also a complete remodel of its 300 guest rooms and suites. Each room design — Cowboy Kitsch, Rustic Modern or Refined Lodge — has its own décor while offering guests a truly “cowboy-glam” experience, complete with plush bedding and a mini fridge in every room.

Guests staying at the resort are also invited to a complimentary wine tasting at the property’s Mermaid Lounge, where they can savor pours of three preselected wines while watching the fish and — depending on the time of day — mermaids swim by in the 117,000-gallon aquarium. Complimentary coffee is offered each morning as well by The Swimmin’ Hole’s fire pits, which were part of $10 million in extensive pool deck renovations completed this past spring. Free movie screenings are held weekly, too, on a 32-foot retractable screen located above the pool’s bar.

These new offerings available exclusively to resort guests join such beloved public amenities as Twin Creeks Steakhouse, which serves up a Strip-worthy dining experience at a fraction of the price. Nothing on Twin Creeks’ dinner menu disappoints, from the

FRIGHTFUL FUN IN SIN CITY

Year-round attractions sure to get visitors in the Halloween spirit

It doesn’t have to be Oct. 31 to celebrate Halloween in Las Vegas. There are several attractions in town open year-round that fans of the spooky holiday will enjoy.

Halloween fans can see if they have what it takes to survive a horror movie at three terrifying multi-room escape experiences found just off the Strip. Guests can venture into the Black Hills Forest in search of some missing college students while being trailed by the Blair Witch at Escape Blair Witch (escapeblairwitch.com); try to beat Jigsaw’s sadistic games under Billy the puppet’s watchful eye at The Official SAW Escape Room (sawescaperoom.com); and attempt to flee the clutches of Pennywise at Escape IT (escapeit.com), which offers two unique adventures themed after “It” and “It Chapter Two.” Live actors further enhance the

heart-pounding experiences, which are only intended for the bravest of souls.

For those in search of something that’s more fun than scary, “Zombie Burlesque” at the V Theater inside Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino invites audiences

into Club Z to be entertained by a cast of sexy undead burlesque dancers and acrobats. One of Las Vegas’ best-kept secrets, the hilarious and surprisingly heartfelt show not only sets pulses racing, but also features one of the Strip’s best acts — a hauntingly beautiful ballet number to an orchestral version of The Cranberries’ “Zombie.” zombieburlesque.com

When it’s time to sleep, there is no better place to “rest in peace” than Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino’s luxurious Halloween Suite. The 1,100-square-foot black suite is decked out with nightmarish décor, including skulls on the walls and hidden clowns behind closed curtains and closet doors. There’s also a giant spider on the ceiling above the kingsize bed, ensuring scaredy cats have anything but sweet dreams at night. westgateresorts. com/hotels/nevada/las-vegas/westgate-lasvegas-resort-casino

THE FAMILY VS. THE FEDS

No trip to Las Vegas is complete without visiting The Mob Museum

Offering an insightful and interactive experience that’s hard to say no to, The Mob Museum, the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, is far from your typical museum.

Located in a former U.S. post office and federal courthouse that was once the setting of one of the Kefauver Committee hearings aimed to expose organized crime in America, The Mob Museum features nearly 20,000 square feet of exhibition space. Through various artifacts, videos and true Mob stories told by the museum’s staff and special guest speakers like reformed mobster Frank Calabrese Jr., visitors will learn about the history of the Mob while exploring the ageold dichotomy of good guys versus bad guys. Guests can even see various artifacts from popular Mob films and television series on display at the recently renovated “Mob in Pop Culture” exhibit, including Bryan Cranston’s hazmat suit from “Breaking Bad” and an autographed “Casino” script.

Several ticketed experiences are available as well for an additional fee,

Learn more about Prohibition while sampling some moonshine during The Mob Museum’s Distillery Tour & Tasting

like the interactive Crime Lab exhibit where guests can analyze evidence like digital DNA samples to try to solve a case and scan their fingerprint to see which notorious mobster’s fingerprint matches theirs the closest. For those who want to see if they have what it takes to be a police officer, the immersive Firearm Training Simulator puts guests through a series of role-playing scenarios — including one with a live actor — where they will have to make split-second decisions on whether or not to shoot their weapon. A Distillery Tour & Tasting is also available in the museum’s basement speakeasy, The Underground, where adults can learn more about how The Mob Museum’s awardwinning moonshine is made.

With so much under one roof, it’s easy to see why The Mob Museum is one of downtown Las Vegas’ top attractions. themobmuseum.org

DOUBLE THE FUN

Two ways to dine inside The Wrigley Mansion

Situated on a knoll near the Arizona Biltmore, the nearly 100-year-old Wrigley Mansion overlooks the patchwork of historic homes, office buildings and distant skyscrapers that make up Phoenix today, but it’s more than a historic estate. The mansion is home to not one, but two fine dining restaurants and a 16,000-bottle wine cellar.

HISTORY TOURS

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Wrigley Mansion was completed in 1931 by chewing gum magnate William Wrigley Jr., who commissioned the home as a 50th anniversary gift for his wife. The family eventually sold the mansion in the early 1970s, and the current owner is Jaime Hormel, widow of Hormel Foods Corp. heir Geordie Hormel.

Visitors can learn more about the home’s history and its Spanish Colonial and California Monterey architectural styles on a 45- to 60-minute tour of the property. Tours are offered Wednesday through Saturday at 3:15 p.m., and reservations are required.

GEORDIE’S

Although Wrigley Mansion does give tours, it’s better known for its fine dining venues.

Geordie’s occupies prime space inside the mansion, offering diners views of the city as they savor a multicourse meal of contemporary American fare. As an alternative, foodies can book the Chef’s Table experience and sample a specially prepared tasting menu.

Before a meal, Jamie’s Wine Bar makes a cozy spot to sip a glass of wine or a craft cocktail in what was once the mansion’s library. In addition to dinner, Geordie’s serves brunch Sundays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and live jazz is performed Thursday nights from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

CHRISTOPHER’S

Separate from the mansion, Christopher’s has a modern aesthetic with floor-to-ceiling

Jamie’s Wine Bar is located in what was once the mansion’s library

windows and an open-air kitchen that showcases the talents of James Beard awardwinning chef Christopher Gross. Diners can choose between two menus: classic or tasting.

With the classic menu, guests can pick a starter, main and dessert, such as the chef’s famous Chocolate Tower. The ever-changing tasting menu can feature more than 10 courses, including some of Gross’ most popular dishes. On both menus, watch for his celebrated Dry-Aged Liberty Farm Duck.

BEFORE YOU GO

Because Wrigley Mansion is technically located in a residential neighborhood, Phoenix requires it to operate as a private club and charge a membership fee. As a result, at least one person in your party must be a member for you to dine at one of the restaurants or have a drink at Jamie’s Wine Bar. Annual membership can be obtained online for $20. If you aren’t a member, you’ll be charged a temporary membership fee of $5.

Reservations are recommended at both restaurants and can be made online as well. The dress code for dinner is smart casual although people tend to wear their best. wrigleymansion.com

EVERYTHING IS ROAR-SOME

California celebrates its 25th birthday with new park addition, Dino Valley

Celebrating 25 years of building unforgettable memories one visit at a time, LEGOLAND California is more awesome than ever thanks to the immersive Dino Valley that opened this past spring.

A project two years in the making, the prehistoric land located near the park’s main entrance features three fun rides, including LEGOLAND California’s popular Coastersaurus family roller coaster. There’s also an interactive Dino Outpost attraction where kids can uncover buried bones and fossils and build their own LEGO DUPLO dinosaur, and two new costume character meet and greets: LEGO T-Rex Guy and LEGO Paleontologist Girl. Dino Valley was developed after guest research showed that families wanted to see more LEGO dinosaur models in the park. Visitors definitely got their wish, as more than 30 colorful LEGO dinosaur models are now featured throughout the land!

Brick-or-Treat features a variety of not-soscary entertainment options the whole family can enjoy

Many of the LEGO dinosaur models can be seen aboard Dino Valley’s relaxing new family water ride, Explorer River Quest, including an 11-foot-tall LEGO T-Rex model that was created out of more than 140,000 LEGO bricks. Guests can also look for a young DUPLO dinosaur playing hide-and-seek on the new DUPLO Little Dino Trail. Each ride vehicle is equipped with toy cameras that trigger interactions from the various DUPLO dinosaurs discovered along the journey as riders take “photos” of them, creating an interactive experience that puts guests in control of the adventure.

Once visitors are done having a roaring good time in Dino Valley, they can enjoy more than 60 other rides, shows and attractions located throughout the park. Other can’tmiss rides include LEGO CITY: Deep Sea Adventure, where guests climb aboard an actual submarine to see real-life sea creatures and search for sunken LEGO treasure, and the fun drop tower ride Unikitty’s Disco Drop. Of course, no trip to LEGOLAND California

is complete without strolling through MINILAND USA, which recreates several U.S. cities using millions of LEGO bricks. Recent MINILAND USA additions include MINILAND San Diego, which features such beloved attractions as Petco Park, and the largest LEGO stadium in the world: the 30-foot-long, 15-foot-wide and 4-foot-tall LEGO SoFi Stadium in MINILAND Los Angeles.

Fall marks the return of two of LEGOLAND California’s most popular events as well. Brick-or-Treat returns Saturdays Sept. 14 through Oct. 26, and Sundays Oct. 6 through 27, featuring treat trails throughout the park, monster meet and greets and other spooktacular activities for boo-ys and ghouls to relish. Then, Holidays at LEGOLAND kicks off in November featuring plenty of festive photo ops and live entertainment sure to get guests in the holiday spirit. Both events are included with general park admission.

For unfussy breakfast and brunch all day, head to Kerbey Lane Cafe, which has expanded to nine locations throughout Austin since it opened in 1980. Austinites love to compare queso — somehow considered a condiment and a spiritual experience at the same time — and this restaurant serves one that often gets a solemn nod from knowing locals. The pancakes are also delish at any hour. kerbeylanecafe.com

FONDA SAN MIGUEL

Tucked in a quiet neighborhood in north Austin is one of the city’s most loved restaurants for authentic interior Mexican cuisine. When you walk in, you’ll immediately notice the sun-drenched atrium, usually filled with patrons angling for a seat at the bar (reservations are recommended). To

start, try Ceviches las Brisas accompanied with tostada chips and a fresh margarita. For a main course, you can’t go wrong with the tacos al carbon or enchiladas de mole. fondasanmiguel.com

BROKEN SPOKE

This dance hall, which has seen more than its share of cowboy boots since 1964, is one of Austin’s true classics. Don’t worry if your twostep is shabby — just show up a little early and get a free lesson. Then, order a Lone Star and rustle up more fun than you can shake a stick at. brokenspokeaustintx.net

TRAVELER INFORMATION

SAFETY FIRST

Customer safety is Allegiant®’s first concern. Please be advised that interference with the duties of crew members, including flight attendants, is a violation of federal laws. Our crews are thoroughly trained in all safety procedures. To ensure your own safety, we hope you take a moment to review the safety information card located in the seat pocket in front of you. Be aware of the following:

• Location of the nearest emergency exit

• Location of your emergency oxygen mask, if needed

• Correct procedure for exiting the cabin in an emergency

SEAT BELTS

Seat belts must be fastened ANY TIME the seat belt sign is on, during taxi, takeoff and landing. Once the seat belt sign is turned off, you may walk around the cabin. Due to unexpected turbulence, it is strongly recommended that you keep your seat belt fastened any time while in your seat. Allegiant’s exit seating policy does not allow the use of seat belt extensions in the exit seats due to tripping hazards.

CHILD RESTRAINT SEATS

Federal Aviation Administration requires that all child restraint seats used on planes meet federal safety standards. Acceptable seats bear proper labeling “THIS RESTRAINT IS CERTIFIED FOR USE IN MOTOR VEHICLES AND AIRCRAFT" from the manufacturer. Unlabeled seats or seats manufactured before Jan. 1, 1981, are not acceptable. Child restraint seats are to be placed into a window seat and secured with an aircraft seat belt.

PHOTOS & VIDEOS ONBOARD

The use of small cameras or mobile devices for photography and video is permitted onboard provided you keep the purpose of your photography and video to capturing personal events. Photographing or recording other customers or airline personnel without their express consent is prohibited. Airline personnel reserve the right to prohibit photos and videos onboard the aircraft if it becomes a disturbance to them or other passengers.

ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES

Allegiant is forbidden to serve alcoholic beverages to anyone who appears to be intoxicated or who has not yet reached the age of 21. It is a violation of federal regulations to drink alcoholic beverages during a flight unless they have been served by Allegiant personnel.

SMOKING

Smoking, the use of other tobacco products, e-cigarettes and other similar smoking devices are not permitted on any Allegiant flight. Federal law imposes fines of $1,000 for smoking and up to $2,000 for any attempt to disable an aircraft smoke detector.

Recognizing Excellence

At Allegiant, we love to unite our Team Members through unique experiences while strengthening relationships across locations, departments, and amongst each other. Through our internal Sport Team Program, Team Members are empowered to organize teams of coworkers to represent our company in local sporting events and leagues.

Each year, our program supports dozens of Allegiant teams and hundreds of Team Members across the country to partake in some friendly competition. For the past few years, our Team Members also look forward to our annual tradition of representing Allegiant in our two biggest competitions, Corporate Challenge in Las Vegas, and Corporate SportsFest in Clearwater, Florida.

Tug-of-War Corporate SportsFest

CORPORATE CHALLENGE

In Las Vegas’ very own City-wide Olympics spanning nearly 3 months, over 200 Team Members represented Team Allegiant, competing in 35 events alongside 52 companies across the Las Vegas and surrounding areas. With events ranging from Flag Football and Track and Field to Chess and E-Sports, our Team Members displayed their teamwork and flexibility, leading our team to a third-place victory overall in our division. The team earned a special trophy

awarded and received second place in the competitions Sportsmanship Award. Not only did placing in the events feel like an accomplishment, but this honor highlighted Team Allegiant’s positive attitude and support of other teams throughout the competition.

CORPORATE SPORTSFEST

On Saturday, April 20, Team Members from our South Florida locations showed up to represent Team Allegiant at St. Pete Clearwater Beach to compete against over 100 other local and national companies in the annual Corporate SportsFest competition. This multi-activity event includes Tug-of-War, Cornhole, Volleyball, Dodgeball and more. The team had a great day cheering each other on, enjoying some fun in the sun, and celebrating multiple victories throughout the day.

While the trophies and celebrations are exciting to across our Allegiant Network, the most rewarding part of this program are inarguable the memories built, and connections made amongst our Team Members. We look forward to continuing these annual traditions for years to come!

Allegiant awards

$34,000

to aspiring pilot

At Allegiant, we believe the future of aviation lies in the hands of young aviators, and we are committed to turning their dreams into reality. One of the core pillars of our corporate giving program is to inspire the next generation of aviation professionals by promoting STEM education and opening doors to careers in the aeronautical sciences. This vision came to life in a spectacular way through our partnership with the Boys & Girls Club of America, where we had the privilege of supporting a young, aspiring pilot, Jill Prime.

At just 17 years old, Jill has already reached impressive heights in her journey to become a pilot. It all began with a spark of inspiration when, at 8 years old, Jill participated in an aviation field trip organized by her local Boys & Girls Club in Florida. From that moment, she was captivated by the idea of soaring through the sky.

Fast forward to today, Jill has achieved a remarkable milestone by earning her student pilot license even before obtaining her driver’s license. But her journey is far from over. This year, Jill is set to continue her education at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. In partnership with the Boys & Girls Club of America, we proudly awarded Jill a $34,000 scholarship to help pay for tuition and expenses as she pursues her bachelor’s degree.

This scholarship is a testament to our commitment aviation industry and supporting the

“We are so proud to inspire the next generation of aviators, exposing them to the rewarding career opportunities available in aviation,” said Allegiant’s President and incoming CEO, Gregory C. Anderson. “Jill’s journey exemplifies resilience and perseverance, qualities that are integral to the success of a pilot. We want the best to join our industry, and Jill embodies that.”

The scholarship was a delightful surprise to Jill. To unveil the big news, the Boys & Girls Club of America flew her out to Las Vegas where she was invited to speak to kids from various Southern Nevada Boys & Girls Clubs at Paper Plane Palooza, an annual event hosted by Harry Reid International Airport. The event welcomes more than 70 children from local Boys & Girls Club of Southern Nevada to participate in a paper airplane folding and flying competition. Jill captivated the crowd with her passion for aviation before introducing Allegiant president and incoming CEO, Gregory C. Anderson, to speak.

Little did she know, Anderson was about to make an announcement that would change her life forever. He surprised the crowd and announced Allegiant was going to help make Jill’s dream come true by funding half of her first year of tuition at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He also shared she would be matched with a current Allegiant captain, Captain Kati Whatley, as a mentor who will encourage Jill as she continues to pursue her dreams.

The surprise was met with cheers and applause from the crowd and Jill’s gratitude was evident as she shared her excitement and dreams with everyone in attendance.

Jill’s journey is a powerful reminder of the impact that dreams, dedication and a little help from friends can have on shaping the future of aviation. Through our partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Allegiant aims to engage children of all ages to empower and inspire them to pursue careers in aviation.
