Top showmen show overall knowledge in All-Around Showmanship Contest The top senior showman in the beef, swine, sheep, goat, poultry, rabbit and horse shows tested their knowledge with other animals during the All-Around Showmanship Contest on Sunday afternoon, July 28, at the Crawford County Fair. First place was won by Jane Hoffmann, Denison FFA, who was the senior showman winner in the horse show. Second place went to Anna

Baughman, Charter Oak Achievers, who was the senior showman winner in the goat show. Third place was won by Jacob Tank, Aspinwall Achievers, who was the senior showman winner in the poultry show. Fourth place ended in a tie between MaKarlie Smith, Charter Oak Boosters, the senior showman in the beef show, and Paige Saunders,

Aspinwall Achievers, senior showman in the swine contest. Fifth place was won by Tyler Saunders, Aspinwall Achievers, senior showman in the sheep contest. Sixth place went to Megan Reetz, 4 Leaf Clovers, senior showman in the rabbit contest. Hoffmann received a plaque presented by Dean Henningsen and daughter Reagan in

memory of their father and grandfather, the late Bob Henningsen, and a belt buckle from the 4-H and Youth Council. Judges for the All-Around Showmanship Contest were Kevin Koenig, poultry; Dr. Doyle Slavik, rabbit; Caitlin Wessel, sheep; Carmen Hoffmann, horse; Mike Vogt and Pat Corey, cattle; Brian Rank, swine; and Kyle Wadsworth, goat.

She received a plaque sponsored by the Henningsen family, represented at left by Dean Henningsen and daughter Reagan. She also received a belt buckle sponsored by the 4-H and Youth Council. Bucket Calf / Bottle Lamb

A flock of young exhibitors, and their pintsize livestock wait to be interviewed during the popular open class bucket bottle show, which served as intermission for the 4-H and FFA Sheep Show.

Tractor Ride

Fifteen vintage tractors and drivers participated in the Crawford County Fair tractor ride on Sunday. The ride started from the fairgrounds at about 10:30 a.m. Drivers traveled to Charter Oak and back. The tractors and drivers are shown above leaving the fairgrounds. Photos by Gordon Wolf
