Photo essay

The topic of my photo essay is my lash business Lashed by London. I started my lash business in Nov 2021 and all of these photos have been taken during the last 6 months of my lash journey. To take good

quality photos i invested in good lighting, i purchased a ring light for my room so it was better lit and i could take better pictures.

The light i use is fantastic because depending on my clients skin tone i can adjust the huge of the light from warm to cool and in between so no matter what i can take great photos. I also use post production editing on my photos just so they look absolutely perfect for my instagram feedfuon everyone and all my clients have theyre own styles and lengths.

Photo essay pt. 2

The editing i use isn't anything major or very noticea- ble but i smooth out the skin and edit any blemishes and i also make the eyes look whiter and brighter. I do not edit the lashes themselves just because i person- ally feel as though that would be false advertisement in a way. With editing photos of the eyes, especially with lash extensions, contrast is very important because the lashes should look

In my World Press Photo it is called “frozen land burns”by Nanna Heitmann. This image is about a forest fire that happened in northeast Russia that caused severe smoke pollution to the environment and a tragic wild fire. The image is bright with warm tones. There is tragedy and chaos in one photo and cool tones and calm in the other photo. One photo was taken when it's dark out and the other was taken very early at sunrise. One photo shows extreme heat from the forest fire, whereas it's extremely cold in the other photo. The reason why I chose to compare these two images is because I thought the forest fire image would be a direct opposite of the trees with the snow.

I felt that the image from my World Press Photo and the image i took are connected because they're both photos of trees so they are similar but they are opposite because one image is fire and the other is snow or hot/cold. Both images are taken at similar angles, but one photo is in a forest and one is taken on a street. These two images can be visually connected because they are both of the same cenerey.
