The endeavor comprises a 4-storey co-housing development nestled within a historic old town in Macau, renowned as a popular tourist destination. Within this project, inviting accommodations are offered, featuring individual rooms accompanied by kitchens and living spaces.

Cost of Maintainess

Across various floors of the establishment, three distinct common areas cater to the residents’ communal needs. Serving as pivotal social hubs, these common spaces not only foster interactions among residents but also serve as venues for events and gatherings. Their significance extends to facilitating friendships and potential partnerships, enriching the

resident experience. The inviting ambiance of these shared areas holds particular allure for young professionals seeking accommodation, acting as a catalyst for occupancy. A pertinent challenge in designing these common spaces revolves around cost-effective maintenance strategies.

Living Comple

Two adjacent structures are under the ownership of the Developer affiliated with the individual in question. Acquisitions include a new building situated on the left and an aged counterpart positioned on the right. In accordance with Macau’s regulations, the preservation of the old building’s facade is mandated for the Developer. The primary objective involves crafting a design for the novel hotel that

seamlessly incorporates the old building’s facade. This endeavor aims to establish a distinctive contrast between the pre-existing facade and the contemporary extension, effectively juxtaposing traditional elements with modernist aesthetics, all while maintaining an essence of modesty and simplicity within the new addition.

Co-Living

Traditional approaches such as expanding the built-up area or reclaiming land from natural habitats are no longer viable options due to environmental concerns and the need to preserve Hong Kong’s precious green spaces. Therefore, this research proposes a unique and rational approach that focuses on increasing the existing housing capacity through the strategic rearrangement of private and public spaces.

more than 1 million Chinese immigrants arrived in Hong Kong considering the increasing housing demand, how can Hong Kong fulfill future housing needs despite limited available land?

Layout Plan Improvement

Co-Housing in Hong Kong is an experimental housing design concept that is not mainstream, although there are some private co-living projects in the Hong Kong. It is important to explore the existing spatial arrangement principles and explore ways to improve them, when these is a aim to increase the capacity of a housing building. The major focus should be on creating a sense of community and encouraging social interaction among residents, as the major space will be dedicated to shared activities and amenities.

Target Residents And Building Selection

Data from the Census and Statistics Department reveals that nearly half of the households in the city consist of 1-2 individuals in 2029 [27], it is because of the change of the population structure. Hence, this solution is aimed at meeting the housing demands of this specific group. The standard housing unit types are for 1-2 residents, not for big families.

Age, race and social background are not considered, the proposal encourages diversity and interaction between different people.

The chosen building for the project is Block 1, Site 9 in Whampoa Garden, a famouss and influential private housing development that embodies the principles of the “Radiant City” concept.

Solution for Housing crisis

In conclusion, the city is suffering from housing crisis without optical solutions. The housing crisis leads social issue, such as lowest birth rate in the world, mental health issues. The city should be appreciated for its attitude to nature, the citizens sacrifice most of the lands to natural environment and wild animals, preserving the most natural and beautiful lands. The city created

its own development approaches, remaining huge virgin lands, constructing one of the most density urban areas. The virgin lands should not be developed, the citizens should looking for a solution to solve the housing crisis with harm the nature. A community would be created in co-housing concept, drawing people back to ancient a village, people help each other and talk to each other.

High-Density Concentration Solution

Cities continue to expand incessantly, posing a persistent threat to natural environments and wildlife. It is imperative for humanity to curtail their developmental endeavors within limited territories, thereby mitigating the resulting damages. Within the locales of Longwy, Aubange, and Petange, a population of 50,389 residents resides. The proposed solution involves relocating these 50,389 residents to a site nestled between borders, facilitating the restoration of the reclaimed

land to its natural state. To comprehend the practical implications and density of the envisioned new city, an examination of Paris and Barcelona’s densities is in order. The investigative process entails superimposing sections of Paris and Barcelona onto the designated site to gauge density dynamics. With a targeted density of 50,389 people per square kilometer, the models of Paris and Barcelona are to be recalibrated to attain the desired population density threshold.
