The Brief An illustratively driven brief. Designed to explore the eccentricities of current and past sitcom characters, both infamous and lesser known. Also designed to combine my character illustrations with an engaging and humourous subject. Additional exploration into applying illustration to different contexts and delivering a range of products. The most ‘Popular Culture’ inspired brief with an audience of TV fans waiting to see what I can deliver. Lesser consideration put into type layout, main focus on bespoke illustrations.
Deliverables include three type heavy brochures designed to educate an un-informed audience. Seven double sided A1 posters designed to appeal to exisiting/developing fans. Stationery set including two 16 page notebooks and a 36 page notepad. Comes with additional sticker set. Apparel wear including t-shirts and supporting online material such as a web store and downloadable wallpapers.

The Illustrations The main reasoning behind this brief was to expand my illustration skills, so here I present the seven character illustrations I developed for the TV related brief. I wanted the drawings to be bold and reflect the extrovert personalities of the characters. I also wanted the illustrations to portray the humour of each programme. I kept the illustrations one colour, and used crisp edges so as not to detract from the facial features of each character.
I dealt with three sitcoms and tackled the following characters specifically: It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Frank Reynolds Charlie Kelly Dennis Reynolds Dee Reynolds Ronald ‘Mac’ McDonald 30 Rock Liz Lemon Seinfeld Jerry Seinfeld

Informative Leaflets A set of three 20 page leaflets designed to inform a potential audience of the sitcoms back story, history and give an insight into the characters depicted in the illustrations. Large scale, black and white imagery used inside to break up the information and bring visual stimulant to something text heavy and formulaic. Additional material applied to online format and available to purchase.
Inside the leaflets are one colour prints onto 90 gsm sugar paper. Front covers are one colour prints on 250 gsm coloured stock (red, blue, yellow). Packaged with belly band. One colour on 90 gsm stock. Continuation of design found on the inside.

Stationery Set A comprehensive stationery set designed for each of the seven characters including two 16 page notebooks with alternative covers, one 36 page notepad and additional stickers. Purposely left blank for the buyer to take notes and use in future. Additional option for stationery items such as pencils and bookmarks available online.
Packaged in a clear acetate stock, and correspondings stickers applied to front. Notebooks on 90 gsm sugar paper. Covers printed on coloured 250 gsm stock.
