The Sharp Eye brand started with head shaper Marcio Zouvi, beginning his shaping career in the late 80’s with Californian influences like Rusty, Linden and Al Merrick. The focus is on high performance shortboards designed with progressive surfing in mind to allow surfers to raise the bar.

Our mission is to ensure every surfer is satisfied with a premium product and service they can rely on. Their knowledge in performance refinement means the entire collection of surfboard models from fun shapes to small wave performance offer every surfer the quality and craftsmanship expected from one of the world’s leading surfboard brands.

Sharp Eye Founder Marcio Zouvi has assembled an experienced team with the highest levels of expertise in surfboard curation, media production, product, marketing and branding. The Sharp Eye architecture is built on an industry leading production of the best quality surfboards.

The team has been working hard building content, community, strategic partnerships, and brand momentum heading into early 2022.

We work closely with each of our athletes to acheive the highest level of performance and functionality.

Each of these extraordinary people share our brand with their friends and family around the globe. These athletes are travelling almost year round showing the world what Sharp Eye is capable on a daily basis.

It’s pretty easy to say that we have one of the greatest or if not the greatest team in the industry right now.

Japanese-American surfer, Kanoa Igarashi has competed professionally worldwide since 2012.

In 2016, he was the youngest rookie on the World Surf League Championship Tour, and had collected more round one wins than any other surfer, finished 2nd place at the Pipeline event, and 20th place overall that year. Kanoa competed in the Tokyo 2021 Olympics and is now an Olympic silver medalist.

Morgan has spent a lot of his time growing up between the surfing hubs of Angourie and Merewether, Australia.

It is no surprise that the natural footer has a smooth, powerful style, groomed on those two famous righthand points. Yet Cibillic has always flown relatively underthe-radar he is quickly becoming a household name with making the Championship Tour final and securing the Rookie of the Year Awarded by the WSL.

With a hometown of San Clemente, Jett is just a bike ride away from one of the best waves in the world.

Lowers, Trestles has produced some of the greatest surfers the world has ever known.

With best friends like Griffin Colapinto and Kade Matson, at 18 Jett already has earned a lot of respect around his name locally as well as internationally. Jett also holds competitive prowess and competes regularly in WSL QS and CT events.

By the age of 15, Jake had won four NSSA National Championship Titles and two USA Prime National Titles. Since then he has been grinding the Qualifying Series for some time now and is very close to qualifying for mens Championship Tour season in 2022. With a runner-up finish in the 2021 US Open in Huntington Beach and good results in Europe doing the Challenger Series, it’s safe to say Jake is on fire.

One of the most recognizable surfers worldwide. Filipe represents the tip of the spear in today’s progressive surfing movement. Small in stature but massive with his moves, especially in the aerial realm. this heartpounding approach has netted him eight Championship Tour victories since his CT debut in 2013. Filipe secured a runner-up finish to a world title at the 2021 Lowers Final. He has a youthful passion for surfing.

Australian heart throb, Macy won her first event as a 10-yearold riding her dad’s board, got hooked on competition, ditched all the other sports and dedicated herself to surfing. She won an Australian Open title and two junior titles followed over the next few years as Callaghan started making a name for herself at home and overseas. Today, Macy lives near the epicenter of aussie surfing in Coolangatta. It’s only a matter of time until she’s making serious dents on the CT.

Barron Mamiya is known for his fearless approach to some of the hollowest waves in the world, including Pipeline.

Barron’s not one to brag. He wouldn’t tell you he’s the first in the water at Pipe when it’s macking, or that he’s up before sunrise at any QS event, preparing to take out someone who wants be World Champ. With the right mindset, the young gent’s projected to make his way onto the CT in next years.

After a prolific pro junior career at home, Ian hit the Qualifying Series hard in 2013, and he toiled there for three-straight years.

His highest rank was No. 81. Then in 2016 he arrived with a little more meat on his bones and the added power caught the eyes of judges. Gouveia went on to win the Azores Airlines Pro and finishing third at the QS 10,000 Billabong Cascais Pro, which ultimately landed him on the elite stage.

Defay is dangerous in any condition thanks to her big bag of tricks and her mastery of surfing’s figure-eight fundamentals. She formulated her style at home on Reunion Island. Her path to the pros, however, went through her birthplace in France, where she led her country to its first World Amateur Title. Winning the Qualifying Series in 2017 and finishing top 10 every year on the Championship Tour since qualifying are proof she has the tools to make a Title run.

This powerful goofy footer started competing on the Qualifying Series in 2011 and over the next decade remained Chile’s highest-ranked surfer. While he never threatened to make the CT, he remained a consistent and reliable performer. He was considered especially dangerous whenever the waves were powerful and clean. In 2021, 17 years after first representing Chile, Selman secured his Olympic selection at the Tokyo 2020 Games through his results at the 2021 ISA Games in El Salvador.

Local to the North Shore of the Maui, Hawai’i, Cody Young is well versed in any condition. Everything from “Maui glass” (super windy and incosistent waves) to Honolua Bay; a perfect, hollow right hand point break. Cody is very focused, driven and will remain a stealth threat for now, but it’s only a matter of time before we start seeing this guy taking out giants.

Shun Murakami

A known threat in Japanese surf, Shun started making serious international waves in 2019. After claiming the Japan Open of Surfing title at Tsurigasaki Beach, Shun collected a copper medal at the World Surfing Games in Miyazaki against a lineup of global elite.

Shun fired off again in Japan that fall winning the Hyuga Pro. Then Shun surfed across seas to win another WSL QS title at the Corona Open in China to start 2020. Today, Shun’s surf prowess is recognized, and respected, globally.

Sally Fitzgibbons was born an athlete. From an early age, she decided she wanted to be a champion at something. By the time the 2017 season started, Sally was in warrior shape, and she worked her way into the Jeep Leader’s Jersey again after her win at Margaret River and she was still wearing it going into the last event of the year on Maui. In 2019 she again was fighting for the World Title, claiming the Jeep Leader’s Jersey after a win in Rio, before her ultimate fall to World No. 4.

Rio Waida was born in Saitama, Japan in 2000 to an Indonesian father and Japanese mother. Both parents surfed and when they relocated to Bali when Rio was five years old it was inevitable that their son would take up the sport. In 2016 he had his breakout result when he won the Quiksilver Young Guns Surf event, beating an international field of the world’s best.

His qualification for the Tokyo Olympic Games, secured at the 2019 ISA World Surfing Games, only served to add to both his experience and reputation.

This steely-eyed Brazilian-born, Hawaiian-raised goofy-footer is fiery, strong, courageous, and confident. She’s a fierce threat on the WCT since her full-time arrival in 2015 and qualified to represent Brazil at the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic Games. In 2016 she nabbed her first CT win at the Vans US Open of Surfing and in 2017 she made back-to-back finals in Fiji and HB. In 2018, she climbed from 10th to 4th place on the Jeep Leaderboard finishing second at Bells and Uluwatu, her career-best finish.

Miguel Pupo grew up on São Paulo’s North Coast, just five minutes from Gabriel’s Medina’s house. The pair grew up together as friends and rivals always pushing each other’s surfing. After seven consecutive years on the CT Pupo failed to qualify for the 2017 CT. With typical determination however, Puop doubledowned on his already high-level commitment to the sport and aided by a QS10000 win in Pantin fought back to secure his qualification for the 2020 season.

Marcio Zouvi was born and raised on the shores of Rio De Janiero, Brazil. He founded Sharp Eye Surfboards in 1992.

With 37 years of board curation experience, he built this empire from the ground up. He is not only a master-class shaper but a laminator as well. He began his career meddling with ding repair and then eventually moved to Southern California to make his mark.

Marcio is a man of fine taste. Everything from the wine he drinks to the boards he shapes. Paying attention to the details is something Marcio takes very seriously. Quality is the top priority in his craftsmanship.

We are focused on well made and high quality production, just like our surfboards.

When it comes to “feeding the beast” that is social media, we gather imagery from people close to us and close to our athletes. Our aesthetic is a tasty cocktail of both traditional era surfing that was core as well as this modern tone of everyday high performance that we are currently pioneering. Our main social focus is the use of Instagram and YouTube to express our imagery and feel of the brand.

We have in-house creators as well as outsourced filmers and photographers that create outstanding work. Our goal is to have a simple and clean brand look with a clear message. We want our media to speak for itself.

IDENTITY A solid brand identity is imperative to any successful company. Everything from the colors, the typefaces and everythng in between. It all has a purpose in telling our story.

We see ourselves as high performance with more than a touch of playfulness. We know that in order to progress in anything you have to have fun while doing it.

That being said, we chose a typeface that feels modern, but also is loose enough to feel a bit playful. Our color palette reflects our high energy and clear vision of where we see the company. It’s black and white but having a good time is not lost on us. Red is a symbol of passion and love. Our community feels this to the core.

Our logo came from this notion of having a “sharp” eye and seeing what others could not. The design is the eye of a barrel. When you are inside of a wave, you know exactly where you need to go. This is the vision.

THE MODELS We represent the pinnacle of performance surfing. Our boards sing this notion of progression by themselves.

When you purchase a surfboard from Sharp Eye you are not just buying a surfboard, you are getting a community full of people who want to surf to the best of their ability.

We have 16 models total and are seperated into 5 different categories that include: Pro Models Short Boards Step-Ups Hybrids Small-Wave Pro models are just short boards that were curated with one of our athletes. The step ups are for the bigger days and our hybrids and small wave models are made for those in between days when the waves are minimal.

THE INFERNO 72 our newest model

Stab in the Dark winner.

The Inferno 72 is the model Sharpeye Surfboards built for the 2021 Stab in the Dark contest. This board is a PU/PE replica of the Dark Arts Epoxy board that took the win.

The Inferno 72 was originally designed for Filipe Toledo to compete on at The Surf Ranch Pro in 2020.

Filipe ended up winning the comp.

The Inferno 72 is a tuned up version of the Disco Inferno, a tried and tested QS favourite. We have added more rocker in the entry and exit for more hold through turns and drive.

It’s going to surf its best in small to medium waves and just like the Disco Inferno the Inferno 72 is a performance surfboard that will handle just about all conditions thrown at it and maintain its spark.

Removable fins not only made travelling easier, but more importantly, allowed surfers to customise the performance of their surfboard by having the ability to seamlessly test and utilise different fin templates.
