Calling the county Farm Bureaus to lead the charge among the ag groups and host a CORE volunteer training in your community! This volunteer training helps prepare your community members to be able to do educational presentations in the classroom or during an AgXplorer ag day event. The trainings need to be scheduled for at least 2 hours long and approved participants would be eligible for a $100 stipend and $100 gift card for educational presentation supplies. This opportunity is available for a limited time and all volunteer workshops need to be scheduled and take place now through July 15th. We are happy to also accommodate the counties and schedule Saturday workshops. Please schedule your date as soon as possible in order to get an optimal date for your group.
We encourage you to be the lead and invite other groups in your community to the training such as CowBelles, Soil & Water Conservation Districts, Cattle Grower’s (we have a great beef component), 4-H Extension Agents, retired educators, civic groups (Rotary, Lions Club, etc.) and any other local volunteer group that would benefit from attending a CORE ag education training. It is time to strengthen our CORE and come together for ag education We can assist you with such things as promotional development of materials to help you garner community support

My experience at FUSION was great! Seeing more of the Farm Bureau community and learning about agriculture from every corner of the country was very eye-opening I was able to speak with dairy farmers from Florida, Collegiate Farm Bureau members from states like North Dakota, Montana, and Arizona, and members of the Women’s Leadership Committee and Young Farmers and Ranchers Committee I loved speaking to other college students about what their Collegiate Farm Bureau chapters were doing, and I brought back ideas on how to grow our own club at NMSU FUSION showcased the best of the best when it comes to young leaders in agriculture. Watching the Discussion Meet was so exciting because of the high caliber conversations that were held regarding current agricultural issues This conference really showed me where my time in Farm Bureau could take me!
Attending the 2023 FUSION Conference and representing New Mexico at the Collegiate Farm Bureau National Discussion Meet was an incredible privilege Tackling and discussing some of the most pressing issues we face in the modern agricultural industry with bright young minds from across the nation was a challenging yet rewarding experience The progressive conversations held at this competition encouraged me to believe that the future of our industry is in more than capable hands I’m eager for New Mexico Collegiate Farm Bureau members to continue to attend the FUSION conference in future years and take advantage of the networking and learning that takes place among students, industry leaders, and production agriculturalists alike I want to extend a huge thank you to New Mexico Farm Bureau for preparing me to compete at this contest and allowing our chapter to represent the Land of Enchantment at the national scale!
My experience at Fusion conference was great! I had such a blast and was glad I got the opportunity to go I definitely stepped out of my comfort zone and got to talk to some pretty neat people I really liked the networking lunches where we got to talk to interesting people from all over My favorite conversation was with this couple from Tennessee that run a large chicken operation and I learned a lot about an industry I didn’t know about We also got to attend these cool breakout sessions where we learned important skills and met new people. Another plus is that it was in Florida! We got to explore Jacksonville and St Augustine It was also my first time getting to see the ocean which was such a cool experience! I am so grateful for this experience
Fusion 2023 was a blast Going into the conference I figured it would just be endless sessions and full of older agriculturalist that my peers and I had nothing in common with but going into that first session I was quickly wronged There were tons of other college students and so many important topics that were spoken about I learned more about agriculture policy, leadership, and communicating agriculture during my time at Fusion. I also had great opportunities to not only network with industry professionals, but with fellow college students which was great. I also loved that opportunity to travel and see not only Jacksonville, Florida but St Augustine as well and learn a little bit of their history I am hooked on American Farm Bureau, and Fusion Conferences I can’t wait for next year, and I am so grateful for this experience
