NMC Recordings is an award-winning charity dedicated to recording and promoting contemporary classical music by UK and Irish composers. Our mission is simple:

We support composers at every stage of their journey – from rising stars in our Debut Discs series to established voices whose work deserves wider recognition. Unlike others, we keep every recording permanently available, ensuring this important music remains accessible.
As a unique UK charity distributing British and Irish composers’ recordings globally, NMC plays a crucial role in the new music sector. Major labels can’t always support this music commercially, but through our philanthropic model, we make sure it reaches the world.
The average recording costs up to £25,000. Sales recoup a tiny fraction of that cost.
With over 300 recordings and almost 500 composers featured, NMC has a proven track record of excellence, with many albums earning top reviews in Gramophone and The Guardian, and airplay on stations like BBC Radio 3. We also provide free educational resources for learners of all ages and lead audience engagement through our Discover platform.
Our work extends far beyond just recording. NMC is the only record label guiding composers through the complexities of the recording industry.
