ETIQUETTE: Due to the intimate nature of our performances, almost any noise may be disruptive for other patrons, as well as the performers. Out of courtesy, we insist that all electronic devices (cell phones, watch alarms, etc.) be turned off and any lozenges or cough drops be opened before the start of the performance. Conversation must be kept to a minimum and text messaging is prohibited.

EXCHANGES: We will try to accommodate ticket exchanges up to 48 hours before the earlier performance.

FOOD & BEVERAGE: No food or drinks are permitted in any performance venue in the Fine Arts Center.

HANDICAP SEATING: All performance venues have handicap accessible seating. Please see a House Manager or Usher for assistance. Patrons requiring special seating consideration due to a medical condition should contact the Box Office to make advance arrangements with a minimum of 48 hours notice. Availability depends on the performance venue.

CREW PROFILES Kimberly Gelbwasser Lazzeri (Director), soprano, is Associate Professor of Voice and Vocal Area Coordinator at Northern Kentucky University’s School of the Arts (NKU SOTA). She was the recipient of the 2016 Outstanding Junior Faculty Award in the College of Arts and Sciences at NKU. Dr. Lazzeri currently serves as President of the Kentucky Chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing. Dr. Lazzeri’s passion lies in performing art song. Of her singing, American composer Jake Heggie wrote, “In addition to a wonderful humanity, beautiful voice, and depth of feeling, Kimberly also brought joy: the joy I feel is essential to singing—and sometimes missing! She loves to sing and she loves to sing songs.” Dr. Lazzeri also regularly pursues her love for theatre. Locally, she has appeared with The Commonwealth Theatre Company and the Covedale Center for the Performing Arts. Nationally, she has appeared with Sierra Repertory Theatre, Pear Avenue Theatre, and Bus Barn Stage Company. Dr. Lazzeri’s operatic roles include Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro, Adele in Die Fledermaus, and Despina in Così fan tutte. Dr. Lazzeri has also spent time studying, singing, and teaching abroad. This summer, she will serve on the music faculty at the Kentucky Institute for International Studies in Salzburg, Austria. Dr. Lazzeri is a certified Kripalu yoga teacher and she teaches a course at NKU entitled “Yoga for Creativity.” Dr. Lazzeri holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree and a Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, where she studied with Barbara Honn. Nicole Perrone (Director) recently joined the faculty as a Lecturer and Retention Specialist after spending seven years at Marshall University where she was an Associate Professor of Acting and Movement. There she co-founded the MU Center for Wellness in the Arts and also served as one of its directors. Nicole is a certified teacher of the Alexander Technique (ATI), and a certified teacher of the Michael Chekhov Technique through the Great Lakes Michael Chekhov Consortium. A member of Actors’ Equity Association and SAG-AFTRA, Nicole has worked professionally for twenty years as an actor, teacher and director. With theatre-maker Matthew Earnest, she founded the Lunar Stratagem, an Equity non-profit theatre committed to the creation of original work. With the Lunar Stratagem, Nicole has appeared in [glug], Can You Forgive Her?, I, Ca$$ie…or the end of days (English Theatre Berlin), and Dead Letter Office (a prelude to Bartleby the Scrivener) which was named one of the Berkshire region’s best productions of 2013.

Ronnie Chamberlain (Costume Designer) is an Associate Professor of Theatre and Dance in Costume Design, Technology and Makeup. Ronnie Chamberlain is actively involved in United States Institute for Theater Technology serving on the Conference Committee for many years. Ms. Chamberlain serves as Vice Chair of Operations for the Ohio Valley Section of USITT. She is also active in Southeastern Theatre Conference and the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival. As a costume designer, her work has been seen in productions the Oklahoma Shakespeare Festival, Haricake Productions, The University of Alabama, Relevance Productions, Open Stage Theatre and The Blackhills Playhouse. Some of her favorite past designs include Pride and Prejudice, Cabaret, Godspell, Disney’s Beauty and Beast and As You Like It. Anna C. Catton (Scenic Designer) has over 20 years of experience working in a variety of entertainment fields ranging from Educational to Industrial, Opera to Art Installation covering various venues around the world. She is currently the Scene Design Faculty at Northern Kentucky University. Previously Anna has worked with The Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, The Glimmerglass Festival, Northern Illinois University, 3DX Scenic, and The Young Vic Theatre to name a few. Anna earned her MFA in Technical Direction from Southern Illinois University. She has also started ReSet which is a website, www.resetyourset.com, that is an online forum for folks in the industry to share materials, tools, elements and supplies across the country in an effort to reduce our production waste.

Jay Goodlett (Choreographer) has performed in numerous classical full-length ballets (such as Sleeping Beauty and Swan lake) numerous Neo-classical works (such as Balanchine’s Agon and The Fourtemparments) and has worked with many ground-breaking contemporary choreographers (such as Val Caniparoli, Trey McIntyre, Amy Seiwert, Adam Hougland, and Stanton Welch). Mr. Goodlett has choreographed several pieces for the Cincinnati Ballet, most notably “Juste Une Autre Chanson et Danse”, “Quatro Suite” and “Graceland”, a collaboration with Cincinnati Ballet artistic director Victoria Morgan. He has also lent his choreographic and/or directing talents to the St. Louis Opera Theatre, Cincinnati Opera, Commonwealth Theater Company, Columbia Ballet Company, Lachey Arts, The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati, Cincinnati Landmark Productions, Miami University, Northern Kentucky University, Purdue University and continues to choreograph and direct for area theater companies and high schools, conducting workshops, and teaching private lessons in his spare time.

Rob Kerby (Technical Director) is a 1987 alumni of the Theatre & Dance Program with a BFA in Theatre Technology and also received his MFA in 2001 from the University of Illinois in Theatre Technology. He has worked at various educational and professional settings including Walt Disney World, The Ohio State University, Indiana State University and The Krannert Center for the Performing Arts at the University of Illinois. Along with being the technical director for the productions, Rob has also designed scenery for many productions including Love and Communication (Y.E.S. Production) and Les Misérables for the Theatre & Dance Program and The Star Spangled Girl for The Commonwealth Theatre Company.

Brian Robertson (Stage Manager) was recently the director of THE ARABIAN NIGHTS for NKU and wrote and staged an adaptation of CARMEN for the Cincinnati Opera. Brian provided fight direction for DEAD MAN WALKING and Peter Brook’s THE TRAGEDY OF CARMEN for Des Moines Metro Opera. Locally, Brian has directed the productions COCKFIGHT and BULL for Know Theatre Cincinnati and WEST SIDE STORY, THE SOUND OF MUSIC, and CAMELOT at The Carnegie. Over the past 25 years, Robertson has had an extensive career in film, television, theatre and opera. From 1998 to 2002, he was the principal stage director for Cincinnati Opera’s education department. Highlights include LA CENERENTOLA, OPERACADABRA, an original production which he co-created, and Hans Krasa’s BRUNDIBAR, which was performed at Cincinnati’s prestigious Aronoff Center in the fall of 2000. He assisted on mainstage productions of AIDA, MADAME BUTTERFLY, THE MAGIC FLUTE, NABUCCO, ERWARTUNG and BLUEBEARD’S CASTLE. Damon Stevens (Music Director) serves as a music director for Northern Kentucky University’s Mainstage Production Season and director of NKU’s freshman Broadway Chorus. Recent musical directing credits include NKU’s Big Fish, Kiss Me, Kate, Into the Woods, The Wedding Singer, A…My Name is Alice, South Pacific, and Legally Blonde, and Some Enchanted Evening with NKU’s Commonwealth Theatre Company. He is also a frequent music director for the Warsaw Federal Incline Theatre where he recently musical directed the critically-acclaimed productions of The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas, Once On This Island, The Drowsy Chaperone, and the grand opening production of The Producers. Additional music directing credits include the critically-acclaimed production of Chicago at The Carnegie. Dr. Stevens previously served on faculty at the University of Nevada (UNR) for nearly a decade. There he directed the University’s award-winning Nevada Chamber Opera and musical directed for the Nevada Repertory Company. Among his many musical directing credits with UNR include the musicals, Footloose, Grease, Godspell, and The Threepenny Opera, and the operas, Die Zauberflöte, HMS Pinafore, The Pirates of Penzance, and Die Fledermaus. He is also the composer and librettist for his musical for children, It’s All Greek to Me, which has received performances in Tennessee and Nevada as part of Reno’s Artown season. In addition to musical directing, Dr. Stevens has served the greater Cincinnati community as a vocal coach for Artswave’s CincySings competition and as a regular adjudicator for the Overture Awards. He holds degrees from Arizona State University and the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music where he also served on the teaching faculty. Dr. Stevens has performed both as soloist and collaborative pianist throughout the United States and Europe in such diverse venues as radio, television, and concert halls.
