Clearing any level of the JLPT Japanese Language Proficiency Test is a major milestone for any learner of Japanese. Clearing the Japanese Language Proficiency Exam is often required by many Japanese companies hiring non-Japanese employees, schools, colleges, etc. The JLPT has five levels and an entire industry is devoted to getting people past these levels through various mediums including, books, videos, online classes, websites, apps, face-to-face classes, training centers, etc. These helpful materials will provide a means to study but none of them have any magic wands to transport kanji and vocabulary directly without any hard work. For instance, for the JLPT N1 test, one shall need to memorize around 2,000 kanji and 4,000 vocabulary items. This may seem daunting to many but not if you follow a few tips to study. The JLPT tests are divided into various sections that differ according to the level. The N1 and N2 levels combine the vocabulary and grammar along with the reading section, making it the largest section of them all. This level also has a listening section which is much longer than the N3 to N5 levels. The N3 to N5 levels also have different vocabulary and grammar sections. And these sections differ in their complexity and amount as per their levels. The way to tackle this examination is to first build up your base through vocabulary. A large vocabulary base will help with the listening as well as the reading and comprehension sections. One should avoid starting the work with kanji as knowing the words before you start writing them will help. Also, learning kanji is not easy unless your native language has a similar system to the Japanese language. Learning kanji is essential to pass the test but it is only one part of the process that is focused on reading. Learning kanji early will not help either your listening skills or
