OFFICE EXPERIENCE REPORT 3.1 INTRODUCTION 3.1.1 FIRM BACKGROUND

This firm started with only a 5 Musketeers team, to firmly establishing itself within the industry, AIN Company has indeed come a long way as a design solution provider. With a gifted team of creative designers, a motivated team of highly skilled interior architects, and the leadership of AIN’s founder, AIN never fail to deliver and meet the clients’ expectations. In fact, so synonymous is with outstanding quality, clients have often continued their support with returning projects. Uncompromising product quality, going the extra mile, PLUS completing projects on time within budget are what we at AIN Creative Design Sdn Bhd. strive to achieve in every interior design or graphic design job undertaken. This holds true no matter the size of the project because that is how AIN lives up to its name – standard of a noble warrior.

3.1.5 MANAGEMENT

AIN Creative Design has adapted to the new working routine despite being in the pandemic. One of the measures taken by the company is that they fully transformed their working management by online communication and google drive submission. The company started their day by informing each members in the group to update their tasks and amendments will be notified accordingly before the end of the day. At the middle of the working month which the cases has rapidly deflate- it was safer to be working in the office. So, the company decided to make it compulsory for each members to be present physically at the office on Mondays and Wednesdays each week for us to experience at least once a working experience inside the office.

3.2 WORKING EXPERIENCE

On this compulsory course provided at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) students are tasked to take practical training to gain experience in a real field. This is mainly for students to fully understand the training process in many academic specializations.

Under these 24 weeks of being exposed to the real working life the students get to learn and capture a realistic preparation inside the industry. Despite the pandemic, most companies adapted to a new normality where everything has been moved to working remotely from home. Students get to experience hands on this new trend of remote working niche. This internship also opens a branch for students to get exposed to the role and governance of the company.

For this course I applied to AIN Creative Design sdn bhd which is an interior designbased company located in Cyberjaya, Selangor. AIN Creative Design provides both commercial and residential projects from designing to construction phase. This growing company is founded by Israa A Galala (Director) at the end of 2018. Israa graduated from her bachelor degree at the end of 2017, and by the end of 2019 she received her MBA in project management certificate and started her new journey in doing her Ph.D in management. On the other hand, Heraa Ashraf as the company’s Interior Architect graduated from Bachelor with a Leadership Award from LUCT – Malaysia. She is currently taking her master’s degree in Interior Design.

Trainee’s Comments on Weekly Progress: Week 10 I was getting comfortable with 3Ds max and understood most of the software tools with the help of the company’s tutorial training. I continued with the rendering after the modeling process. On the second day of this week, I got my first rendering task on Evergreen project. I was assigned to render the laundry cabinet room perspective view.

Trainee’s Comments on Weekly Progress: Week 11 is where I continued my rendering process and getting the comments from my supervisor to improve my ways of rendering until I reached the final view. At the end of this week I started with a new project to design a wall partition with the criteria to include glass in between the walls.

Trainee’s Comments on Weekly Progress: Week 12 is where I continued the partition wall design and provided a few options for the client to choose. Next, I started with the 3D rendering of a bathroom for Evergreen’s project. I started with the modelling process in 3Ds max before moving on with the rendering. At the end of this week I edited the rendering of the laundry room for Evergreen project.

Octane edibles is a coffee ingredientsbased shop which they require all the display product island to be custom made. I delivered two options for the client to choose.

Trainee’s Comments on Weekly Progress: Week 17 is where the Octane edibles project needed to be done and submitted to the client by this week. So, we juggled between that and the ongoing Mr. Hairul’s project. I went for my first drawings submission at Majlis Perbandaran Sepang on Monday. On Thursday I went for a site visit of a new project at Sepang to design a car porch. Right after the site visit, I started with the plan tracing and the layout plan for that project.

We went for a site visit there to take all the measurements and I started with the plan tracing and ground floor furniture plan right away after that. I went to Evergreen residence’s management to submit the drawings for final approval. After that I started with the furniture setting-out plan for the new project at Tamarind Square. Trainee’s Comments on Project Involvement: The first project that was assigned to me and the longest one to be done throughout my whole internship days.

Trainee’s Comments on Project Involvement: The 7th project was my hardest as we faced some technical issues with the client about the whole measurements.

This makes us have to rescale the whole building measurement and update the design drawings accordingly.
