“ I’m a passionate landscape architect deeply connected to nature, finding inspiration in its subtleties and rhythms. With a rich academic and professional background, I focus on designing sustainable landscapes that balance ecology, aesthetics, and functionality. My design philosophy stems from my love of observing how people interact with their surroundings—how they move, gather, and create moments of joy. I’m driven to craft spaces that not only harmonize with the environment but also become the backdrop for people’s most cherished memories. Whether designing intimate gardens or expansive urban landscapes, my goal is to create living, breathing spaces that invite connection, reflection, and lasting experiences. “

STUDIO BRIEF
The studio began with a fundamental premise of landscape architecture - of reading a landscape, ‘re – presenting’ it and responding to it articulately. The studio process consisted of1. Reading and representing 2. Imagining and constructing.
Decoding The forest , The forest/ the jungle/ the woods A place that we sense as archaic, primeval; and a space that is deep and dense. Forests are complex in terms of ecology, chronology and human narratives that describe them. While on one hand, they are understood as rational relationships of geography, soil, climate and vegetation.
On the other hand they are more than the sum of these parts having their place deep in the human imagination. We investigated a forest and attempted to look at it from a multi- dimensional perspective. We developed ways to understand its complex layers and attempted to ‘represent’ its many natures in order to engage with it meaningfully.

The exercise started by identifying the spots with different characters within the forest, in terms of density of light, textures, water bodies and prepared sketches reflecting these aspects. The exercise allowed us to document our observations and experiential qualities of space with the most beautiful medium charcoal.

FINDING INDIVIDUAL LENS TO THE FOREST | NOCTURNAL
A forest never sleeps. The beautiful bright colors that the day sprinkles upon this realm, fill our vision with a heightened sense of aesthetics and lower some of the others at the same time. The soft flowers invite us to touch them, as do the tree trunks, rocks, and everything else that we encounter along the trail.
Simultaneously, bathed by moonlight, dramatically articulating its nocturnal spirit; Night, with faded words & things, comes alive. One can perceive a lot going on, with the shades of night creating a thin screen of fascinating fantasy and imagination beyond what’s real. Our relationship with light has been an essential part of us, of our desire to gather all memories fascinated by the beautiful offerings, that a forest allows us to collect.
But what is a forest doing at night?
We are never alone in the forest; Neither during the day nor at night.
Beneath the Canopy
As I observed the jungle I noticed a tropical patch with upright palms waiting for us to greet us in the best possible way, not too far from where I was.
The light is allowing me to gasp as much as I want to, even the tiniest of the details. An action mindset in light enables individuals to see beyond their present limitations and what might be.
Passing by I came across a Banyan tree, huge standing proud and tall as protector of the exigent grounds. Creating a wonderful, quiet and calm space all around which evoked us to experience its charmness.
I quickly dashed next to it and took a look at its beauty which put me in a day dream for about five seconds before I regained my senses.

Weaving wetlands into Urban Fabric, Gurugram
FACULTY - Prof.

PROJECT AREA - 300 Acres
STUDIO BRIEF
With increasing urbanization there have been pressures on nature and natural processes. Resultantly, conflict areas are created, which are often highly stressed pockets that require and in-depth and empathetic approach.
It is the need of the hour to propose paradigms of designed ecology to rebuild, support, and recollect the gradually fragmenting land mosaics. The studio allowed for exploratory research that gave foundation to the proposal and helped explore design strategies to implement the research outcomes.
PROJECT BRIEF
Basai is currently a marshy land filled with water and is home to more than 300 species of birds. It is an enclosed piece of land surrounded by highways, sectoral roads, townships, and a village. It prevents flooding and recharges groundwater of severely water-scarce Gurugram area. Is now known as the ‘Paradise of Birds’ by ornithologists and ecologists.
This place has the potential to revive. It is important to connect an important biodiversity hot-spot to be known to people.
With a better understanding of how vital wetlands are to sustain urban spaces and focus on ecological restoration and awareness among people, Basai can be an oasis in the heart of a concrete jungle.
PROJECT AIM
The vision is to preserve, recover and strengthen Basai wetlands through a series of strategies including adaptive flood control, storm-water management, and biodiversity restoration, which would transform the site into an friendly biodiversity hot spot and an urban park that provides multiple values on environment and people.
Rooted Revival, Mount Abu, Raj. | A tale of transformation through landscape artistary
FACULTY
-
Prof. Deepa Maheshwari Rujuta Ranade
PROJECT AREA - 15 Acres
STUDIO BRIEF
The studio looked at planting as systemic entities that work together with other parts to create a diverse functional and experiential quotient. The course enabled students to envisage and develop a landscape design for a specific site using multiple design scales, drawing and communicating it in ways appropriate to the chosen proposal, keeping in mind the notions of ecological planting design.
PROJECT BRIEF
Serving as a source of comfort from the sultry desert climate of Rajasthan, Mount Abu, the state’s only hill station stands at a height of 1722 meters above sea level and is embraced by lush green hills of the Aravalli range. Polo Ground is a popular recreational spot located in the center of the city which attracts many sports lovers and tourists.
The current situation of the ground reflects how this urbanization is increasing and not allowing the open space to breathe. The ground is currently used in an unorganized manner by the residents and tourists, which is converting the piece of land into fragmented parts in terms of usage. How about in the next 10 years this maidan is encroached by the people for the sake of tourism. Will it be more functional?
PROJECT AIM
The goal has been to create an attractive park with a gathering path lined with activity areas for all ages, a park that promotes physical activities, sports, health, and social gatherings.
A park, filled with vibrancy and an abundance of different settings, by “overlaying” various planting layers supporting the aesthetic as well as climate responsive planting design where people can enjoy strolling, green lawns, and different sensory and visual experiences.
The concept of “Flow” focuses on creating a city park that uses blue/ green structures to create sensible and recreational pathways, while also providing a space for play, leisure, and connection to urban nature. The space serves as a walkable connection and possesses an identity that thoroughly contributes to the user’s unique experience, and subtly echoes its history throughout the design.
IDEOLOGY
Different spaces includes functioning based on different age groups and diversity in the quality and experiences within the garden complexities.
The green seams and water stream are integrated into one. The garden complexes are robust and clearly recognizable clusters in the landscape.
- The path network gives access to the park from five different spots, connects all major locations and provides a continuous range perspective.
- The landscape appears as sometimes wet, sometimes dry, with matching flora and fauna.
- The vegetation in the green blends, with a nice grass mixture and a rich variety of flowers makes the vision promising.
CONCEPTUALIZATION
Woven woods - A textile rebirth at ATIRA
STUDIO BRIEF
The studio aims to reduce the fear of the empty page. It emphasizes free, joyful and creative design exploration and innovation, as possible ways to explore design directions. The studio includes
1. Study & Analysis: Readings, films and case-studies introduce the students to methods and ideas that connect to landscape design. These are used to create quick-and-dirty design options for hypothetical sites.
2. Design or Research exploration: Real-life sites will be studied and various design approaches used or new ones created through innovative thinking to create designs on these sites Details of these designs will be worked out.
3. Doing-Creation or Research: The students will be involved in creating physical models or crafting research models and/or hypotheses.

PROJECT SITE - Ahmedabad Textile Industry Research Association (ATIRA)
PROJECT LOCATION - Ahmedabad, Gujarat
PROJECT AREA - 15 Acres
PROJECT BRIEF
- The project aims to transform the Ahmedabad Textile Industry Research Association (ATIRA) campus, restoring its textile heritage.
- The site features architecture by Achyut Kanvinde and B.V. Doshi, but its legacy is overshadowed by its natural surroundings.
- A textile-themed interpretative trail with historical stations narrating textile processes.
- Underutilized buildings will be repurposed: Doshi’s housing will become exhibition areas for textile artifacts and interactive displays, and other structures will house textile workshops, an eatery, retail outlets, a training center, and an open workspace.
- A multifunctional area will be created to activate space for exhibitions, exercise, and relaxation, revitalizing the site as an active hub.
- This landscape redesign seeks not only to restore the historical identity of ATIRA but also to forge a connection between the site and its users, evoking both historical reflection and forward-looking inspiration.
PROJECT AIM
The goal is to create a vibrant, educational, and recreational environment that honors the past, serves present needs, and anticipates future possibilities, making ATIRA a landmark known not just for its wilderness, but as a living museum of textile history. Through this project, I aim to fill the void between the existing scenario and the textile connection, thereby reactivating and redefining the landscape of ATIRA.
A RIBBON WRAPPING UP THE SITE IN A TANGIBLE OR INTANGIBLE FORM
“Woven Woods” transforms the landscape into a living tapestry embodying the textures, patterns, and processes fundamental to textile creation.
This concept interlaces the organic elements of the forest with human-made structures, crafting spaces that invite interaction, contemplation, and discovery Through design, the landscape becomes a metaphor for the textile industry, emphasizing sustainability, innovation, and the intertwining of technology with nature.

INTRODUCTION
A hands-on approach to construction management in natural and indigenous building practices in the Western Himalayas. Set in the Kullu valley of Himachal, amongst lush Deodar forests, we practice natural building through indigenous techniques in the valley. A journey through untouched villages where craft, culture, and architecture live together in harmony.
First, we imbibed the learnings that the land gives us through forest hikes, village walks, and visits to ancient indigenous homes in the mountain air we shall clear up the old and make way for the new.
The next step will took us right to the source of our practice. Through our live project sites, we understood the network around natural materials that RCC construction. This includes material transportation, availability of natural materials, the craftspeople (karigars) who still work with these materials, and the local builders (mistris) team that we have gathered over time.

Living and Learning Centre of Flowers
PROJECT LOCATION - Mount Abu, Rajasthan
PROJECT TYPOLOGY - Institutional
PROJECT AREA - 16 Acres
THESIS GUIDE - Prof. Archana Singh Rathore
PROJECT BRIEF
The project proposes an educational horticulture complex overlapping activities that range from the research, exhibiting, growing and breeding of flowers from all over the state in a large garden and greenhouse, to housing an array of leisure activities such as research, training, small conventions, workshops or exhibitions, preservation etc.
CONCEPT
The center is designed amidst the trees, creating a public space that integrates locals and visitors with shared interests.
Instead of constructing a single large building, the design breaks it into separate segments that fit within the gaps around the existing trees. These segments are interconnected with bridges and paths, forming a public realm that is both diverse and intricate.
Preserving the existing trees, the design weaves around them to create a harmonious integration with nature.
Site Scenario
The site is situated in an incredibly central location coexisting within the exuberant nature. It has a strong natural character with its steep hillsides and gentle slopes. The site is blessed with a large patch of existing trees shown below.
IDEOLOGY
The location of the project responds to the conservation of existing vegetation, taking areas with less vegetation to develop the program, and forming the main space around a group of trees as a linchpin. The idea is to turn the vegetation into the main character of the project, perfectly camouflaging the design with the context.

Entrance Plaza - Way to museum
Entrance Plaza
The project consists of a central landscape which is the terminus to one of the campus major axes, and three courtyards associated with new architecture.
- The concept was to focus the most active, public uses onto the central landscape of campus, and create more calm spaces within the courtyards.
- The project was enriched by many challenges inherent to the site, i.e. to retain majestic existing trees and designing according to them, provided placed scattered naturally on site.
- The strategy adopted was to accept the natural slope of the site, a fairly consistent as ‘accessible’, and connect all entrances to a main walkway down this slope.
- The stepped landscape is designed to be viewed from the top of the slope and from below, through angled walls, steep planes of planting, and trees.

DOMES OF FLOWERS - Capturing essence of flowers
Breaking the mass of what could be a large building into separate pieces of the program that in turn could fit within the voids around the existing trees, whilst interconnecting them with landscape to create a public realm that is both diverse and intricate.
OBSERVATION DECK
An observation tower has been planned on the highest level of the site between the existing trees. The visitors can have a complete look of the garden at once. The elevated viewing platforms are series of concentric circles placed according to the trees.
