AUCTIONEERS FOREWORD The first herd I had the pleasure of visiting when I first moved to Cumbria was the Warnelview herd back in 2004. I was more than impressed back then and I continue to be impressed at every visit by this amazing herd of cows, in my opinion Warnelview ranks as one of the very best Holstein herds in the world today. I love the uniformity across the herd both in size and body condition the feet and legs are strong and the locomotion is excellent, the udder quality is simply amazing. The facts speak for themselves the current average on 445 cows and heifers is 11800kg at 4.18% butterfat and 3.39% protein at the most recent milk recording the herd averaged 42.84kgs. The average classification points on 440 animals is almost 87 points with 110 Excellent cows, 123 Very Good cows and 10 Good Plus. The milking heifers are amazing with 106 Very Good milking heifers and 81 Good Plus. ALL the milking heifers that have calved from the start of May sell. This includes some of the VERY BEST females to ever be offered from Warnelview. In total 130 freshly calved animals sell along with 89 heifer calves that follow their dams. The sale opens with 12 attractive second calvers currently averaging 52kgs and which 8 are already Very Good. The 118 milking heifers are probably the BEST group we have offered in the Borderway Sale Centre and include one VG88 heifer, 8 VG87 heifers, 9 VG86 heifers, 5 VG85 heifers, 13 Good Plus heifers with 82 very fresh heifers still to classify. (some of the best heifers are still to classify) Top quality management at Warnelview starts as soon as the calves are born and this combined with great genetics and quality forage has been the main factors in the Warnelview success story. The herd is managed in sand cubicles in a new slatted barn that was built just over ten years ago. A large percentage of the herd are milked in a Lely Robotic milking facility; however, all the sale animals have been milked twice daily through the milking parlour. RUBY COW FAMILY Cow families are important at Warnelview and the RUBY cow family is one of the prominent blood lines. Warnelview Goldwyn Ruby features throughout the catalogue, she is the Former #1 PLI Cow in the UK, she has left a powerful legacy with amazing daughters such as Jeeves Ruby 4 who classified Excellent 95 and is dam of another Former #1 PLI Cow Iota Ruby EX93. Lot 4 WARNELVIEW CALANDO RUBY VG85 3YR is a granddaughter of the Jeeves fresh giving over 50kgs. Lot 20 WARNELVIEW CORDIAL RUBY VG85 2YR features both the Jeeves and Iota. This is a special young heifer with a powerful frame bred from 7 HIGH SCORING EXCELLENT COWS with massive butterfat & protein. LOT 41 WARNELVIEW SILVIO RUBY 2 VG87 2YR is as good as it gets bred from an Excellent 94 Saloon dam. Lot 42 WARNELVIEW SILVIO RUBY 6 is a future bull dam, born in December this attractive yearling heifer is a granddaughter of Goldwyn Ruby EX94 and is sister to several high selling brothers. NITA COW FAMILY The herd icon is Warnelview Final Cut Nita EX97 who is currently milking in her eighth lactation with 144 ton already produced. Her highest classified daughter is Warnelview Saver Nita 6 EX94, her daughter Lot 68 WARNELVIEW SIDEKICK NITA VG87 2YR sells and reminds us of her amazing granddam. Lot 24 WARNELVIEW UNIX NITA 3 VG87 2YR & Lot 25 WARNELVIEW UNIX NITA 6 VG87 2YR are both direct daughters of and both have their heifer calves following them in the ring sired by Jones and Crushabull respectively. KING-DOC At our most recent visit daughters of King-Doc really grabbed are attention all displaying enormous potential to produce large volumes of milk. THE MODERN KIND Lot 58 WARNELVIEW UNIX IRENE 6 VG88 2YR is the perfect young heifer! She will appeal to ever milk producer wither you milk 2000 or 20 this perfect balanced young heifer is giving 39kgs with excellent feet and legs and an exceptional udder. In many ways she sums up what the Warnelview herd is all about PREMIUM PRODCUTION from POWERFUL PEDIGREES. This is without doubt one of the most important sales of the year and is one of the BEST group of milking heifers ever offered from one farm.
