Warnelview Holsteins

Our practice has provided veterinary services to Warnelview Holsteins for 20 years and I have had the pleasure of working with Kevin, Christine and whole team for 17 of those. It has always been an ’elite’ herd for us however we continue to see the standard and quality of the management, facilities and most importantly cattle, improve year on year. Wood Farm has fantastic facilities and cows. Sheds are modern, spacious and well ventilated with cows on deep sand beds and modern cubicles focusing on cow comfort and health. Cows are miked through 6 Ley Astronaut AMS alongside the parlour with exceptional cow flow and grouping. Calves and youngstock are reared in dedicated sheds with high attention to detail.

The team work hard to achieve a premium herd of high welfare, health and production animals. Calves have an optimum start on pasteurised milk and automatic feeders and are vaccinated early against Parainfluenza, RSV and Mannheimia. The herd and cows have been actively managed and tested for Johnes for over 12 years. The herd has been vaccinated for over 15 years against BVD, Lepto and twice yearly for IBR and all calves are BVD monitored with tag & test. Cell counts are consistently below 100,000 and udder health remains in our top quartile. Dry cows transition well into calving, fertility is excellent and lameness exceptionally well managed.

The quality of stock available for sale today is outstanding and I am certain they will be in optimum health. The pedigrees, production figures and the herds history will ensure some of the very best stock are available for sale.

I wish all potential buyers as well as Kevin, Christine, Tom, Will and wider team the very best for the sale.
